I'm from East TN, (10th Generation) and up writing Grandfather's eulogy. He lived on this side of the mountain on a dairy farm. Took me quail and grouse hunting all my life. I could sit and listen to these men all day, and maybe they knew each other. This is a dying breed, God Bless the Country Folks of Appalachia we are a dying breed.

I am a 65 year old white man from Alabama and I grew up with old black men like these. I miss my youth. Great, hard working Godly men.

I loved their hunting stories. They both seem like they have spent their lives in the woods and I'm sure they have a whole lot more great stories to tell. I have some relatives like them and its sad because when they pass those stories are lost unless someone collects them. I thank you for sharing them. God Bless you all. Please post more content like this.

    Where did race go?
If I closed my eyes, I would be hearing my uncles, Dad, or brothers talking!
It's amazing how similar we all are in these mountains. I love it!

That reminded me so much of when I was a young fellow and my grandfather Jeff Gunter, my uncles and cousins would get together and start sharing stories about past hunts. I would be sitting against a wall with my legs pulled up resting my chin on my knees and listening to those stories. I am 62 almost and I miss those days and all the family members who have passed on. It almost brings tears to my eyes remembering those days
