- I bought this motor from Chucky at Chuckies Bait & Bunkhouse in Essexville, Michigan last summer- 2023. He informed me it had no compression on bottom cylinder ANDthat it was stuck!! I soaked the suspect cylinder down with Sta- Bil Fogging Oil and let it set overnight. I also ordered a new head gasket because upon removing the head, I found the bottom cylinders fire ring on the gasket to be blown. I couldn't have been any happier because that meant it wasn't blown up after all!! This font style from 1958 as well as the two color placement, which is reversed from the previous year is my absolute favorite 😍 💯!! Thanks for watching 👀!!
They are great fishing motors.
This one is so quiet!
Those old Johnson and Evinrude motors were like timex watches, they just never died.....
This one has a sound all it's own! The style of the lettering on the '58's is by far the best lookind
I got a 1956 30hp holiday bronze color scheme really close to that and a1958 Evinrude 18hp I love those old motors
I know what you mean! Every day, I can't wait to work on them or take the finished one's out on the Bay! I do this 7 days a week!!
I want to thank everyone here for the comments! It helps to grow my channel!!
I think it's a 1957 model year the single hose gastank came out in 1958. Motors before 1958 had a pressurized gas tank. Like the one in this video.
It is most definitely a 1958, and it is a dual- line factory set-up. I have the original manual to back my claim.
Looks like it belongs in fall out
I'm not sure what 'fallout' is but if you would elaborate, I'd appreciate that, thanks for watching 👀
