But when at the lowest latch for everyday backpack 20l, it only provides 17L. So, the expandability is just going to reach up to Zip's volume... So, if someone is not able to stuff the jacket into zip 20L, it's probably not going to get into the backpack 20L even at highest MagLatch
What I don't like about the custom sternum strap is that you always have to be mindful to attach it to the right slot. With a normal clip, you set the level of both sides once and then you don't have to worry about it ever again. The problem is even showcased in the video at 16:50 when Chase attaches it one slot too high without realizing.
I watched one of the Peak employees put her trifold shelf vertically. I thought that was an awesome idea for more... variability. I use 3 iPhones for cameras & 1 iPad Pro (encased in a ZuguCase with all the magnets 🧲) for a 4th camera angle. Deity mic (same size as the Rode. An Apurture F7 LED light and 1 or 2 bagsmart roll up tech pouches (2in1) for all the dongles and wires. 1 or 2 battery chargers. Logitech keys-to-go keyboard. Plus a folder to hold papers and a very small lunch bag (small). I also have 2 mini tripods by Manfrotto and MeFoto. I’m going to get DJI’s new Mavic Mini. I think the 20 Liter Zip will do everything perfectly for my Run-&-Gun video interview style for my RUclips channel, Limeliting. Thanks Chase for shooting and editing this video brother❤️ I really really Really hope you do the video you mentioned at the end of this video. A bag that is perfectly made for that Gorilla style, drop-and-go video recording style for RUclipsr & content creators. That is exactly what I’m looking for. AND, the bag be that go-to-work everyday thing, because I can’t afford the space and money for tons of bags. I think the new Zip 20 liter with bagsmart and Peter Mckinnen Nomatic or Eagle Creek pouches will do just that for me, perfectly. Hell(!) I could just use the damn Aputure bags I have laying around to also do that extra organization too, lol!
Great review! It will be even greater to mention the true difference in internal spaces as well. I am a current owner of the everyday 20L V1, but I will probably go for the everyday zip for the upgrade for these few reasons: 1. Lighter weight on everyday zip 2. True 20L in Zip instead of min. 17L on everyday V2 at bottom Maglatch position 3. Thicker bottom (20cm) on Zip vs thinner bottom (16cm) on V2
Regarding the sustainability on the black bags, I reached out to PD and asked about this. Should be happening in the near future!"

My ZIP 15 l is giving me headaches due to the fact that both interior lateral zips, made of metal, scratch any item that is placed across the Zip bag and against them. Meaning my D500 with Sigma 50-100 due fit inside, but I have to place both zip pockets in open position otherwise these would scratch badly both camera touch screen and lens cap. Still I can fit my Peak Design Tech Pouch on the lower end of the backpack and remaining EDC on the top. I am trying to reach Peak Design for a solution and maybe help preventing this issue on future models .
I’m late to the game on this but I’m in love with the magnet latch every day pack. I’m a true crime RUclipsr on a massively small scale. I’m filming with my iPhone. I am a bag enthusiast and have been since I was a kid. It all started with a $10 duffel from Woolworths when I was 10 or 11. I want a pack that has the capacity of the Tardis and weighs one pound. I’m a mom and have always carried a bag that MacGyver could rebuild the S.S. Minnow with. My kids grown but I always have my dogs with me, so kid stuff has been exchanged for treats and leashes. I want the magnet latch pack no doubt but the conundrum is 20l or 30 l? On some days this pack will be my “purse”, some days a work bag for the cafe, sometimes both. I need modular and I love that design because it is the most versatile pack I’ve found thus far. I know my back needs the 20L but my tendency to over pack and simply the fact that my laptop is old and an inch and a half thick and like 3 lbs, I’m thinking I need the 30L just to fit my laptop till I can upgrade to something slimmer. The thing has power, my computer guy hubby built it for me, so it works it’s just big. I’m 4’ 11” tall and weigh 100lbs, my frame can only stand so much weight. What would the 30L look like on my tiny frame? Not that I’ve ever cared before so why start now? Other than keeping myself out of the chiropractor’s office…. Also, I’m a country girl. There is no urban usage going on out here. How will this thing do in the woods? Will briars kill the exterior? I looked at one once and it seemed really stout. I am trying to thin my bag collection from just every bag I remotely think is cool at the thrift store to purposeful, high quality bags. Less is more. One or two choices for each situation. I want them to last and a manufacturer that is a good steward over resources is most definitely a plus. I love your reviews! It’s good to find someone as enthusiastic about bags as me. Interesting @14:50. I was given the original bag for valentines. One hike with my dog and I could not get the bag comfortable. The straps were really bugging me and I only had a small lunch, mirrorless camera, and one other lens. Im a firefighter so I am used to carrying a ton of weight, ie 100 lbs, but this felt way heavier because of the straps. I thought I was crazy and felt guilty wanting to return the bag because it was a gift. Now I feel validated that it was a poor design and not me.
Thank you for this. I’m planning on buying the everyday zip but the 15L. I wish you could’ve showed how big that size is compared to the 20L. I’m a small girl and the 20L looks big on me but the detail you gave on this bag confirms that this is the bag for me. Thanks for your help. I already bought 3 bags and returned all of them. Hopefully this is the one. I’m a San Diego girl btw and hoping to run in with you when I’m in OB. Thanks again Camille

Want slick hidden passport pocket. Weather resist zippers that last. Too much to ask? Haven’t found it yet but enjoying the videos!
John Campbell have a look at the Topo x Gear Patrol Backpack tote that was just released. I love my Peak 10L for day to day carrying as I put camera, tablet and lunch in it for work. But it still remains a bit bulky for my weekend traveling trips. I love the slim profile of the Topo and the fact there’s 3 different ways to wear it. I can fold it up and put it in any luggage or bigger backpack. They don’t make the backpack/tote anymore so if you like them, the gear patrol limited edition is just a one off and I’m not sure how many they have left. Good luck!
@@chasereeves One thing nobody ever focuses on is final weight packed out. My big reluctance of one-bag travel is that airlines like Lufthansa have 8kg/18lbs limits and actually have started to spot check. Hi chase. Thanks for the overview of the new stuff from pd. How are the shoulder straps of the V2 from v1? One of the biggest complaint I had was the 20l bag wasn't comfortable. Could you compare with something like boundary supply or wandrd?
Weird question that I haven't really seen others talk about---it looks like the top and side handle rivets were taken off. Is there any concern that this new version is actually less reinforced or durable than the originals?
I already have their travel backpack - do you think the Zip would also work for a 1-2 day trip - thinking of packing their tech pouch and their smaller packing cube + laptop. Too small or doable? thanks!
I’m responding here because I want you to know that I think you are very entertaining man. They refuse to make the bag truly lockable so I will stick to my Everyday 20L V1. Also the side pockets on the V2 are worse than the V1 so that isn't helping. Additionally I never use my hip belt, but I have it if I ever need it and don't have to pay to get one, like you would with the V2. They also got rid of the little tab on the bottom of the bag where you could clip one of those safety lights, that didn't seem smart. 🤔
Nice designs. Sides still open to the wrong side. All that magnets... harddiscs and creditcards will love them. No bottom that helps to protect the backpack or help it to stand itself. The Dividers are still "flappy". I'll stick with my loewepro.
Happy thanksgiving y’all!

hey Chase the brown buffalo link is broken ;)
how are there like 10 bags reviewed in this vid and its only 36 minutes LOL
No link to the orange beanie?
‘not as rocketpacky’ 😂
I adore peak design’s stuff and I can’t wait for your thoughts on the totepack.
None of this shit is real!!
Found your channel this week and I"m loving it, Chase! I can feel you're gonna get huuuge
Peak is promoting these everywhere
Think this is better than the Wandrd Prvke? @chase
"I live in OB it's not San Diego" 😂😂
Hands down the best review for this bag yet 😂
They refuse to make the bag truly lockable so I will stick to my Everyday 20L V1. Also the side pockets on the V2 are worse than the V1 so that isn't helping. Additionally I never use my hip belt, but I have it if I ever need it and don't have to pay to get one, like you would with the V2. They also got rid of the little tab on the bottom of the bag where you could clip one of those safety lights, that didn't seem smart. 🤔
THE MOST entertaining review EVER. Good info too dude. This is awesome
Nice designs. Sides still open to the wrong side. All that magnets... harddiscs and creditcards will love them. No bottom that helps to protect the backpack or help it to stand itself. The Dividers are still "flappy". I'll stick with my loewepro.
