I've been dying to try a "Make it look like an accident" run, where death comes only as a tragic, terrible fall from a great hight or as an unfortunate mishap like a boulder or a barrel crushing some poor, poor goblin's skull. Such a tragedy. Maybe you can look into that, have fun as always ;)
The Adept's Hat is great. I wish that there was an Augment instead that I could equip rather than resort to high tier armor. Same thing with the Gloves of Attribute applied. I wish that were an augment for that. Sorcerer does quite well in BBI, mostly due to tight hallways and small rooms. Gransys has larger spaces for enemies to get missed

That was truly impressive. Well done my friend. The game cheesed you in a couple of spots bit that was a clean, solo run via a vocation I know is not your favorite. And you owned BBI with it. As a side note, I really wish we had almost unlimited spells like in Skyrim. I also wish sopor was available for sorcerer. All in all though you did justice to a vocation that is very powerful, but often misunderstood.
Sorcerer definitely destroys BBI. Sopor would be cool for Sorcerer. Sopor is pretty damn strong though. I tried not to spam hfb too much, you know those dogma nazi's out there, don't want them to cry.
jeez, this actually makes me want to play as a blue class for once. out of curiosity, what was the leveling like for this build? I'm not a planning type of guy, but it looks like a very even, fun setup you've got for this character.
Good to hear. My intent is to encourage other plays, even as vocations usually ignored. This is my 5 hour build. Strider to lv10, Ranger to lv100 and then Strider to lv200. Split damage but 5k stamina, so spells can keep comin'

HFB is powerful. Gamble is powerful, Arc of can be powerful, DemonsWrath is powerful. HFB is powerful due to it's piercing damage and Wall hacks, and no stamina usage. The lv51 weapon stamina penalty would be good for HFB. Go with a lv40 Sorcerer using Sanguine and then HFB becomes a true skill at that point

Even though there's spells that are split between magick and physical damage, it would've been nice for the game to include a spell for the blue vocations that dealt purely physical damage for those instances specifically, especially at distances that Magick Billow either can't reach or is simply too tedious to execute. Something like a Bigby's Hand would be great. Just bitch slap the shit outta those damn crystals. I'd also like to see an AoE version of that in the form of a shock wave, too; just use the staff to collect the surrounding kinetic energy, then slam your hands together and BOOM them back to hell.

Wanted to give y'all some entertainment, and since Hurricane Dorian is on the news I then figured I could show some Maelstrom Tornadoes, just to keep things fresh. My biggest rant of the immune enemies are the Wraiths and Spectres. I hate that they require magic to kill. Living Armor at least have the gravity kill aspect, and also I do like the split of LV. A Shockwave billow would be cool

The immunity that the ethereal enemies have against physical damage is greatly cumbersome, too; without strong enchantments, they're simply a waste of time to kill. While there are spell tomes that can be used, I find them to be both bothersome to collect and to use. I guess the developers thought that the possession move was the free-for-all moment that all attacks could do damage, but even that window can be pain to wait for, and with Wraiths especially, easily deadly at even moderate levels of defense. I can't recall if you made any suggestions about either giving physical vocations another aid or giving the ethereal enemies another physical weakness. Which would you prefer?
I like the idea of the enemy changing. I always found it strange that, from an RPG standpoint, a trained and focused Warrior still had access to Magic attacks. This is the whole spelltomes things. I hate spelltomes. The idea that a Warrior or Fighter, that is supposed to be focused on melee and defense can simply summon a magic spell. it defeats the purpose of anything in the game. If those options are open then there is minimal Role Playing, I might as well be a Warrior that uses spelltomes, why bother even swinging this sword. And I have no cast time. A trained Sorcerer takes 10 seconds to cast this spell, i will cast it instantly, and I have no training in the matter. Kinda silly. I guess logically though, Ghosts really wouldn't be able to receive damage from physical elements, as they are non physical. I do like that some skills from Strider and Assassin can damage the Ghosts, but I don't like that a Perma Enchanted weapon has to be equipped. It would be nice if they could still carry any weapon and create this Fire attack to damage the Ghosts. From the opposite spectrum, Sorcerer at least has Spells that have a physical element to them sometimes, so they at least can damage the Magic Immune with what they have. The Physical Immune go the extra step and do require and Enchantment, or non solo. I cannot go through BBI solo, as a Strider with only Signs of Valor and Hunter's Bow, and kill everything. I can kill Living Armor with Gravity in 80% of it's spawn locations, and then the Light Beacons in the remaining 20% spawn locations. But a Sorcerer can go into BBI, solo, with only a Plucked Heart and can kill everything. it will be very time consuming for the Golems, but it can be done. Not the same can be said for Wraiths and Spectres. Ok, after that rant I would rather enemies have no immunity to either magic or physical. maybe a super high resistance, but not immunity. I don't mind if that Strider requires 30 minutes to kill the Wraith with the weapons provided. At least there's a chance.

My pawns must kill them before they can say those lines 1 hour mark-why did you cast maelstrom into that room and then run straight through? Does maelstrom actually have line of sight blocking properties that affect enemies? this was neat to watch since I've played sorcerer the most of all the classes

IMHO Monster Hunter World is a good game but it just doesn't have the same atmospheric and compelling nature of Dragon's Dogma. After playing DD I tried multiple MH games (including World) and just couldn't get into the bright, quirky, anime-inspired experience; I wanted that dark medieval fantasy with survival horror elements of DDDA.

I was planning to do it like the old way i read on reddit mage 1-10 and then 11-200, but now i'm not sure anymore since my sorcerer is always out of breath, i'm level 50 now
Level Ranger up at least 30 levels. Ranger gets the best stamina gain per level. Large Mushrooms are some of the best stamina aid. You cannot stop the initial attack animation, you need more stamina. Switch to Ranger for thirty to fifty levels, this will give you a ton of stamina to use. Good luck.
Late response, but for your first question, all he does is after the first cast of focus bolt, you have to immediately start holding down your light attack button during the focus bolt firing animation, and that will start the next one without having to fire a shot again. One thing I do to never have to fire a shot is you can hold down the light attack during the sprinting wind down animation and it won't fire a shot to charge your first focus bolt. You can then just start casting the next one while firing the first one.
I have a question, since you're a lot more experienced at this game than me. Is autonomy necessary for every build? I like playing with pawns more than without, but I haven't been deep into Bitterblack Isle.
You could try killing the group of oxen just outside Gran Soren. They respawn every time you enter and exit and they're worth relatively low xp, perfect for discipline grinding.
@Konk I know this is real late, but you could run through BBI isle until you meet Barroch the first time. Behind one of the moon gem doors is a ring that doubles discipline. You can barrel jump glitch through to get it.
Fun video. But I have to ask why you had Dark Affinity? Not many in the BBI are weak to dark I thought. I'm still leveling up my own sorcerer as well. I'd say I'd be improving if I wasn't too busy using maelstrom on the NPCs in Gran Soren.

Actually, Elder Ogres are weak to thunder more than dark. That's why richochet hunter is a lifesaver when facing them even better when in tight spaces ;)
I'm just getting into this game for the first time. Would you mind please explaining why you are switching weapons? They are both non-elemental, right, so why not just stick with the Sanguine..?
Rusted weapons can torpor enemies, slowing their speed in half. Golden weapons can Silence, which keeps spell casting enemies from casting spells. You have to get these weapons 3 star upgraded for their debilitation to work.

Does dragon forging an item level an item past level three? I have level 1 items that became dragon forged and I just want to know if it I would get a bigger bonus if I leveled the item to 3 then dragon forged it or if it doesn't matter.

Upgrading through 1* 2* and 3* just increase the chance that they will become Dragon forged (depending on the dragon) Grigori and online Ur-Dragon have 100% chance no matter what level Cursed Dragon's have something like 0* 40%, 1* 55%, 2* 65%, 3* 75% Offline Ur-Dragon is 0/2/10/30% Diredragonkin are 5/15/28/40% Regular dragon kin are 0/2/6/18
I just started playing a few weeks ago and love the game. I don’t like how you need to play a class other than what you may want in order to build your stats for later on. I’m working on a Magic Archer build (1-10 as Warrior for some defense, 11-51 which I’m currently at as an Assasin for stamina building). I’m not wanting to play to 100 as an Assassin, then to switch to Sorcer for another 100. After seeing this play, I’m wanting to switch to Sorcerer now. Sigh. Don’t really know what I should do.
You don't need to. The stat myth is bogus. This was leveled Strider to lv10, Ranger to lv100, then Strider to lv200. The weapons give us our damage, the armor gives us our defense. The only stat "needed" would be stamina, and Ranger has the highest stamina gains.

@@douglasv5385 slight correction, there are 2 enemies in 2 places that can withstand the power, metal golem in witchwood and metal golem in everfall but, only because you can't get the last disc in either as a MA, in bbi you can use staff to levitate to the last disc so you can kill that metal golem as MA..

Make save, then switch matching vocations for yourself and your pawn before purifying, you can then check what you get and get stuff a lot quicker, no point purifying 15 domionion claws you only need one
I need help with BBI i keep getting stuck at the dark bishop as a magick archer with a couple strider pawns and a sorcerer idk what I’m doing wrong I’m lvl 70 if that helps
Give your strider pawns a ton of Silence arrows. Use Explosive rivet 2 times on Bishop, then double jump and attack with daggers. Repeat until dead. When he goes into the Cursed dragon form, rely on the Striders to Silence again while you plant Explosive rivets again. The Silence is the important part

No. But you do at the least want Attunement(10%) + Acuity(+20%). And since he is solo, he gets to use Autonomy(+20%). Which lands him at +50% magick. Getting another 2-3 pawns for sync casting would completely offset the need for Autonomy. This isn't even minmax, minmax would had another 300 base magick, which would mean another 450 total attack. Which would be significant for every time you see a attack deal more than 1x lifebar.

I've been waiting for this one. My sorcerer is not fully leveled yet but I've been having better luck in BBI. I'm still farming for that hat, though.

If you go solo, autonomy makes great sense. It's not a must have, but I always have it if I am solo. It's useless if you have pawns with you.

Any tips on grinding Discipline points without leveling too fast? I want to make a pawn thats helpful to people at earlier levels.
You could try killing the group of oxen just outside Gran Soren. They respawn every time you enter and exit and they're worth relatively low xp, perfect for discipline grinding.
All I know is If you kill low level stuff, you get the most discipline per xp. Rabbits for example.

@Konk I know this is real late, but you could run through BBI isle until you meet Barroch the first time. Behind one of the moon gem doors is a ring that doubles discipline. You can barrel jump glitch through to get it.

I'm still leveling up my own sorcerer as well. I'd say I'd be improving if I wasn't too busy using maelstrom on the NPCs in Gran Soren.
Dark Bishop and Elder Ogre are weak to Dark, and Saurian Sages. I ended up never needing to use the Dark affinity though

Actually, Elder Ogres are weak to thunder more than dark. That's why richochet hunter is a lifesaver when facing them even better when in tight spaces ;)

I'm just getting into this game for the first time. Would you mind please explaining why you are switching weapons? They are both non-elemental, right, so why not just stick with the Sanguine..?
Rusted weapons can torpor enemies, slowing their speed in half. Golden weapons can Silence, which keeps spell casting enemies from casting spells. You have to get these weapons 3 star upgraded for their debilitation to work.

He's got two Saviors Rings and each boosts health and stamina by 500. Don't know about his level path though
He went 10 to 100 as ranger and 100 to 200 as strider

Does dragon forging an item level an item past level three? I have level 1 items that became dragon forged and I just want to know if it I would get a bigger bonus if I leveled the item to 3 then dragon forged it or if it doesn't matter.

@TomiXK 5 is totally right. Upgrading through 1* 2* and 3* just increase the chance that they will become Dragon forged (depending on the dragon)
Grigori and online Ur-Dragon have 100% chance no matter what level
Cursed Dragon's have something like
0* 40%, 1* 55%, 2* 65%, 3* 75%
Offline Ur-Dragon is 0/2/10/30%
Diredragonkin are 5/15/28/40%
Regular dragon kin are 0/2/6/18
I just started playing a few weeks ago and love the game. I don’t like how you need to play a class other than what you may want in order to build your stats for later on. I’m working on a Magic Archer build (1-10 as Warrior for some defense, 11-51 which I’m currently at as an Assasin for stamina building). I’m not wanting to play to 100 as an Assassin, then to switch to Sorcer for another 100. After seeing this play, I’m wanting to switch to Sorcerer now. Sigh. Don’t really know what I should do.
You don't need to. The stat myth is bogus. This was leveled Strider to lv10, Ranger to lv100, then Strider to lv200. The weapons give us our damage, the armor gives us our defense. The only stat "needed" would be stamina, and Ranger has the highest stamina gains.

I get all excited watching your play through in BBI and pretend I can do the same level of damage at lol 51. Makes for a good laugh when it doesn't work out the same.
@@douglasv5385 yeah it really is a myth, I played as a magic archer from lvl16 to 200 with no issues and have framae blades, sappfire daggers, heavens keys and blackwing bow and there is nothing in the game that can withstand my "worst character possible"..
@@douglasv5385 slight correction, there are 2 enemies in 2 places that can withstand the power, metal golem in witchwood and metal golem in everfall but, only because you can't get the last disc in either as a MA, in bbi you can use staff to levitate to the last disc so you can kill that metal golem as MA..

You've never been to jail? They take out all your equipement so all you can do is punch and kick the air unless you have gold or a key.

Make save, then switch matching vocations for yourself and your pawn before purifying, you can then check what you get and get stuff a lot quicker, no point purifying 15 domionion claws you only need one

That's the beauty of the word "attempt" Yeah, Red can do it. Wraiths would be a pain, and many flying turds as well.
I need help with BBI i keep getting stuck at the dark bishop as a magick archer with a couple strider pawns and a sorcerer idk what I’m doing wrong I’m lvl 70 if that helps
Give your strider pawns a ton of Silence arrows. Use Explosive rivet 2 times on Bishop, then double jump and attack with daggers. Repeat until dead. When he goes into the Cursed dragon form, rely on the Striders to Silence again while you plant Explosive rivets again. The Silence is the important part
How do you control the placement of high miasma? Mine just auto locks I dont get the cursor
With a controller, while casting click down the left analog stick. Gives you manual aim on most spells.

nah, this was leveled 50/50 Strider/Ranger. Min/maxing in the regards to stamina yeah

But you do at the least want Attunement(10%) + Acuity(+20%). And since he is solo, he gets to use Autonomy(+20%). Which lands him at +50% magick.
Getting another 2-3 pawns for sync casting would completely offset the need for Autonomy.
This isn't even minmax, minmax would had another 300 base magick, which would mean another 450 total attack. Which would be significant for every time you see a attack deal more than 1x lifebar.

Leveled 190 levels as Ranger. Sanguine Stalk for the staff. Adept's Mantle, Bliaut, and the Grave boots and Gloves. I show it all at the beginning
