Ιi tried it, but in the end all tracks are selected. Then i added the action "Track: Unselect (clear selection of) all tracks" before the ""SWS: Restore saved track selection" and works perfect!
I pinned this for others in case they have the same issue.
Well, I was one of those with the same issue. And this solution helped me! So thanks a lot, both lefteriszikos and of course Kenny 🙂
Thank you, Kenny! A question on the forum today made me think about this, and an exploration into how to do it was niggling me. Then I go to RUclips, and voila! You are the MAN!
This video was inspired by a comment I read somewhere over the last few days.
Kenny, your tutorials are absolutely invaluable and significantly help us learn on an expedited basis! Thank you!
Very cool ! Thanks Kenny. Your channel is the best for Reaper users !!!
Дякую, за увагу до мого питання про Zoom, у попередньому відео я коментував англійською мовою, але моя рідна мова українська. Thank you so much my dear friend!
Yes, this is very handy. Thank you Kenny!!
Cool!!! Thanks Kenny!!😀
Brilliant ! Thank you..
This is a must!
Great !
A minor note on this is that the vertical zoom will not shrink tracks below the minimum height, so this custom action will not fully zoom vertically if you have a large number of tracks. At least it did not for me.
True.
Nice!!
Kenny does this work with track lanes? I tried it and it did not work for me.
Is there a way to make 'zoom out project' only zoom out to the longest visible track? As it works of the shelf it zoom out to hidden tracks too.
My workflow is so that I often record a jamsession fiddling with synths, circuit bent toys, effects and/or use field recordings. Afterwards I cut snippets from those and arrange them on multiple tracks to build a composition. At some point in that proces I usually hide those raw material tracks from the TCP and MCP. But I prefer to have them at hand, if I want to make a new clip from one of them. Sometimes there might be markers associated with them too, further right than the visible tracks have items.
I built a custom action to do this :
- SWS: Save current track selection
- Item: Select all items
- Script: me2beats_Horizontal zoom
- Item: Unselect (clear selection of) all items
- SWS: Restore saved track selection
It should zoom to only visible items, wether there are other longer non visible items or markers after the longest visible item.
thanks! I'll try that out.
How in earth is it possible that this is not a standard shortcut?
Kenny - can you just provide this custom shortcut as a download? With instruction on how to install on our PC? Sorry, I am a bit of a clutz with setting up.

Hi Kenny! I fiddled with zooming preferences after seeing your previous video on the subject and now my zoom behavior is really odd! Whatever vertical option I choose in preferences, it zooms on the upper and lower tracks only, and not on the center! Any idea what could be?
No idea. Try putting it all back to the defaults?
@@REAPERMania Tried that! Weird behavior, right? It doesn't correspond to any of the options...
@@canastraroyal Very weird. Try restarting your computer.
@@canastraroyal put it in rice too
@@ranajoyshil lol
for some reason it never restores my track selection. It will keep all tracks selected.
Try this - Ιi tried it, but in the end all tracks are selected. Then i added the action "Track: Unselect (clear selection of) all tracks" before the ""SWS: Restore saved track selection" and works perfect!
@@REAPERMania that did the trick! (you're the best)
Looks really good but it doesn't work for me as you show it. I've done the process 3 times over and it will do a different adjustment depending on where i am zoomed in at. It never zooms the whole project
Are you sure you used the exact actions I did?
@@REAPERMania I found my problem. Works great. Thanks Kenny!
@@MrEcutler Glad to hear.
@@MrEcutler What was your solution. I can't get it to work either!
