I moved to the denver area during the pandemic and haven't found any good riding buddies yet to show me around. your channel, along with your buddies (TML and RWW) have really highlighted some great trails. thanks guys!
Just found your channel and immediately subscribed. Well done and informative. My 2 sons and myself are heading are heading out there this summer and ate looking to sample some easier singletrack to go along with our dual sport routes. Thanks
CoolEye, Would you still buy another KTM 250 4T? I'm a midwest woods rider that wants to ride Colorado but I run with riders on KTM 350's and bigger. The 250 4T is the best engine for me in the woods. Are there places that you avoid in Colorado simply because the 250 is perhaps under powered? I've been eyeballing a new 2019 KTM 250 EXC for a while now. Please help me make my decision. Thank you in advance.
Yea I have no issues with my 4T 250. Go everywhere my friends go (they all ride 2strokes...Xtrainer, HuskyTE250i, KTM 300). I have had no issues going where they go. Have not come across a trail yet that I cant make it up. Sometimes I wish I had the power band of a 2T, but honestly no issues. I dont shy away from any trail in CO. The best thing I did for my bike was lower it 2 inches (since I am only 5'8"). That way I can paddle through crud. But going up the seriously steep, rocky stuff....no issues. We ride regularly at 9-12 thousand feet and my bike does great. The steep and nasty (rocky, rooty) stuff here is CO...you see few bikes above 300's. 250-350's work best here in the nasty rough stuff.
Check out my Mt Tilton video (the first 3 min). That was seriously steep and was about 10-11 thousand feet. Of course the video (flatness) does not do it justice. But it was very steep. ruclips.net/video/fiVR7IGJYvo/видео.html
and check out the same area (mt tilton)...that is me on my 250 (but this camera/video is from riding buddy This Mountain Life). ruclips.net/video/taC-p6vxx0k/видео.html
That's awesome! I bought a 500 EXC new in '16 and didn't like the arm-stretching power. It just wasn't what I was looking for in a dirt bike. At almost 62 I still have some woods riding left in me but once I hopped on the 500 for the first time I knew I had made a mistake. I bought the first one to hit town and will never do that again! Lol Thanks a ton for the input and the videos you provide. I can't get enough of those videos with riders on 250 4T's. I'll watch the videos you linked asap! I've been in the mountains plenty just not on two wheels. Thanks again. Now I have something to pressure the wifey with. Two thumbs up!
