- For about a quarter-century Peter Bernstein has been one of the most in-demand guitarists in jazz. So in-demand in fact, his fans were more likely to hear him on someone else’s CD rather than his own. However, even though he’s sought after as a sideman, Peter’s slowly been putting together a fine discography of his own, with 10 CD releases since 1992. In this studio session with Abe Beeson, there’s no question about who’s leading the band. Here’s Peter Bernstein front and center, performing "I Love You" in a trio setting that includes Chuck Deardorf on bass and Matt Jorgensen on drums.
This is excellent. Mr. Bernstein is one of the finest jazz guitarists ever. The only people that gave this a thumbs down are mad they arent this good.

What an amazing guitarist with a sound and cord melody intro just murder & the trio killing it.. hard to find these days. These guys will swing you into bad health

Peter is a real monster! Personal and original style, yet within the tradition. Chack also Matt Jorgensen's extensive work. In particular the "Chamber Three" CDs.

Barney's chord soloing is on a different level, though. Kessel's chords are much thicker and have constant movement within the context.

He usually plays a Zeidler, as far as I know quite a difficult to find (and expensive) instrument.

Right. He’s playing way behind the beat while the other members of this trio are cooking. He sounded stoned! Nothing truly inventive. What the heck is all the praise about?! Are they deaf?
