    I'm gonna be honest, I was super pessimistic following this recipe. After following several previous recipes that always ended up in the beef being either extremely salty or too sweet, this ended up being PERFECT. Straight out of a restaurant.

    This recipe is so good, it makes grown men cry and cures depression, and if served to the right people it would create world peace. It's truly truly truly amazing. Food like this is part of the meaning of life. I wish I had better words to describe it. Wow. Thank you so much for this.

    I'm a Malaysian and we do have our own version of beef and broccoli, slightly the same like this and ee like to put a lot of black pepper too. My goodness. You are right. This dish is seriously yummy especially when eaten with hot rice. Mamma mia!

    Just made this, it is by far the best beef and broccoli I've ever had - the practical tips in this video are key, charring the broccoli and browning a tender cut of beef. I don't eat beef very often (I cook it maybe 2-3 times a year) so worth treating it well and this was a perfect weeknight meal with leftovers for lunch!

    Video is 100% on point as always and you made a lot of very valid and important points that are so critical to a good recipe. I always notice the huge chunks of veggies in people's stirfry. It seems like a lack of attention to detail.

    I made this with tofu instead of beef and ginger instead of garlic and it turned out great. I cut the tofu in bite size pieces and fried until golden brown before charing the broccoli. I just substituted julienned fresh ginger for garlic in the sauce. I also added some sliced regular onion when I added the sauce.

    Hey Pai, yes the char is so important but as well with the beef and broccoli I think you need a thickened sauce. Also, I think you should have a whole episode on the magic of veleting your meat before cooking.thanks for the video.

    • @PailinsKitchen
      @PailinsKitchen  7 лет назад

      Thickened sauce is more common in Chinese cooking, and it's a fine thing to do. But in Thailand, we generally prefer to keep stir-fry sauce light and not thickened, which is also my preference.
