I feel as though Colombia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and South Africa have been more successful in the miss universe pageant compared to Brazil especially in the past 10yrs. Even though they make it to the finals they barely make the cut into the top 3 or top 5 while the countries I mentioned earlier all have without fail in the past decade.

There are many "mestiza" women in that country as it was colonized by Spaniards for centuries before the Americans came. Many of the Spaniards married the Pilipinas and their great great great great grand kids married the pure blooded Pilipino men and produced "mestizas". and "mestizos". :)
