Watching this on my M1 MacBook Air . Just got this laptop a few weeks ago & been loving it ever since. I use it for business & video editing & it runs just fine for me
I just got myself one last month. I love it so much. I already have a midrange gaming PC so i got this for my language studies, travel, and everday use. Its lightweight and snappy, does everything i need well and quick i couldnt be happier with it. Ive never really cared for apple products, especially their phones which I really dont care for, but im very surprised with it.
I’m a graphic designer and the m1 with 8gb of ram runs my programs with minimal issues. I use all the adobe suite applications and have many tabs open when I’m designing something and I don’t have many slowdowns at all. The M1 chip is still very fast and the m1 machines like the MacBook Air , iMac and Mac mini are great prices today for those who want a fast machine on a deal.
Yessiree!!! Just bought one about two weeks ago. Got it for $699 from Walmart. M1 MBA 8GB RAM & 256GB SSD. Literally just got it bc my wife has an M2 and I’ve been job hunting and can’t really do much applying or resume editing from my iPhone 15 Plus. Also, I haven’t used a laptop since my college days. And to add this to my current Apple Ecosystem came at the right time. Love how seamlessly it works with my iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods Pro. I don’t know why I went too long without getting a MacBook, but I’m glad I did now specially with the price drop 😎 Highly recommend this MacBook if you’re looking for a entry level computer.
I found a used 512/16 for $800 CAD ($570 USD). Had some scratches on it, but I slapped a dbrand skin on it and now I don't notice the scratches haha. It runs amazing. Sometimes I think it's faster than my 14" MBP just because it's not bloated with software I've installed.
Back in 2020 I bought one open box from Best Buy for $632 two months after release. I sold it a couple months ago after buying a 15” with 4 cycles for $720. The new one was $600 at Costco and Woot had open box for $585.
Two things are true simultaneously: 1- 8 gb shouldn’t even exist per industry standard. Just another display of Apples greed 2- 8 gb it’s enough for 95% of people that don’t do professional video editing (most people)
Yup,,,,me too! Have an M1 Pro 16" which is AMAZING.....But could not pass up at the current price offering of the M1 Air. This little thing is amazing. Built like a tank, fast as hell, slim, light and, portable. All with an M1 chip. Best bang for your buck$$. Absolutely Priceless:)
Been using my m1 air as my one and only computer as a filmmaker/editor since it came out. About time for an upgrade but it’s done me good for wayy longer than I ever could’ve hoped for.
Mine is due from Walmart tomorrow (30 July 2024). This is my first mac purchase since my g4 MacBook Pro. I decided I needed to get another Mac so I can get my skills as I am seeing a bunch of it jobs asking for experience with windows and Mac OS. Apple certified tech here I come.
Got mine in December for a hundred bucks more, but that's OK because it does all I need brilliantly. It can still be had for $650 at Walmart stores in the US.
I've been a windows only user for decades (well I had Mac mini back in like 2008 purely because I was dabbling in making my own app). I picked up one of these dirt cheap m1 8gb/256gb laptops this past week and it has blown me away with the battery life and how well it handles only having 8gb ram. a windows machine would just choke to death but this thing has been smooth as butter. I was sick of my 13 inch windows laptop being an oven and dieing after four hours As long as your expectations are reasonable and you don't plan on doing super heavy tasks like video editing it makes a great throw in your bag companion device.
I just bought one and it only had 1 charging cycle. No marks on the case, clean screen. The only thing I noticed was oily fingerprints on some of the keys. I love it, and it runs Davinci Resolve with no issues.
I Have my MacBook Pro max M1, and a MacBook Air M2 and the little rose gold m1 kept staring at me from the counter in Bestbuy, I couldn't help myself, and on a sale I bought it. To me it's the nicest looking style Mac I have ever owned. and Matt is right for 90% of the stuff I do, it's more than enough for me. it runs fast and reliabley. I'll keep it till the wheels fall off. which on Macs is usually about 7 or 8 years for me.
M1 (in my case M2) will last long into the future (if Apple chooses not to stop supporting it). Super performant. Who needs M3? Meh. In march Best Buy had the M2 Base MPB 13.6” on sale for $1399 (24GB RAM + 1TB SSD) Joined the BestBuy “Club” and got it for $1299 I still like Touchbar for functions, the RAM & SSD at that price is INCREDIBLE.
My wife has an M1 MBA (8/512) that she's been using daily for 3 years. It's been solid for her use. She typically has MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint open along with Chrome (10 - 30 tabs). The memory pressure stays in the yellow but it's never crashed or slowed down. It gets rebooted with MacOS updates.
This MacBook has been in my head for long, I'm still holding up to my 2015 MacBook Pro because of reliability and it works as a charm, but I'm aware that I need an update - also the M2 Air is a good option now
I have iPhone 13 right now and poco m6 pro i had asus tuf f15 but i had problems with it but it was working until now sudenly shut down and not opened so i got MacBook m1 i am happy with it
I really love the wedge design of M1 MacBook Air and is enough for every day tasks and for light video and photo editing, with this price point it is still better than most of its intel competitors…
I'm using my base model m1 macbook air for coding & stuff and I can say it's still good and light. Best mac to start learning Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro

I bouth my m1 almost 3 years ago and still works as new ! unfortunately I dropped and screen is out but got it connected to external display will use it at least a year two more ;) this one of the best Macs apple ever created !
I’m a server engineer and currently using a 5th gen i3 Asus laptop it’s been 8 yrs and still performs well but I’m planning to add MacBook Air M1 as it’s replacement is this worth it because I know my Asus runs fine without much effort and I’m keeping it as backup so my question is do I really need to put extra money to get a newer version of MacBook Air or get MacBook Air M1 instead?
Unfortunately I was not unable to follow, the channel for the last three days after water damage my phone keep saying storage is full even though I just have 120 pictures 😢
That is normal for it to get quite warm like when doing video recording or even Instagram scrolling wierdly... there was a video I made about this on my channel last September/early October time

I have and I love even base model I use for telehealth with clients and I also use Logic Pro music production multiple plug ins etc and I’ve had no hiccups. I’m tired of people saying only 8gb etc but the way the ram is managed via swap works great and it’s MAC is so nothing like windows with 8gb ram! Great deal I luv!
I remember when these Macs came out, everyone was praising them. I like it’s the best laptop ever it’s so powerful you can edit 4K. Much better than i7 intel, u don’t need anything more than this and then the pro came out and suddenly the base M1 are not that great anymore.

What I hate about my M1 MacBook Pro. Only two USBC ports. No Magsafe. No SD card reader. No HDMI port. Not so pro except the M1 chip. Everything else is good.

I purchased my M1 in 2020. I decided to upgrade to the 16 gb for longevity. I am please with the performance for every day tasks.

It's possible to do so much more with M1 than just office work and streaming.

She's up to date with software updates? Mine crashes with just Chrome when using 3-5 tabs on memory
@@edwardbarcenas Have you tried deleting and re-adding Chrome? Also, Safari has gotten better and uses less resources than Chrome.

Great Macbook indeed! The only reason I'm not buying one is a lack of memory and SSD.
Don't use Chrome and m1 air won't slow down. Safari, Firefox, Orion, Arc: m1 base still blazing fast with 40+ tabs.

Haha, naa not that hot. It should be fine with Magnetic USB-C cables that say they are compatible with charging M1 MacBooks
