All because alien chicks trick the Iron Bloods into thinking that no war makes everything weak and useless.

Then some of the sirens even help azur lane against the actual enemy that comes from the future, getting caught in a battle between some other corrupted factions and a more powerful version of the sirens that are not even called siren anymore, turns out sirens and shipgirls were formerly created to fight along and not among them, but the original world is already gone and reboot. Then simulations from the future, new technology, time travelling, the commander regain his memories, the impending cold war, interdimensional hackers, lots of new waifus, laplace demon, hiroshima and nagasaki references, lots of characters dying, and so on. I'm not going to spoil the whole thing Still no yamato though, only interactions through trivial messages. It'd be good to read if you're interested
I'm really sad that they genderbent Bismarck for Azur Lane. It was a great opportunity for the harem tag. Only male ship in the world at the time. Chased by the whole of the Royal Navy. Would have made for great scenes in the anime.
