- A compilation of my favourite cuts of animation from Marvel/DC animated works.
Click show more for the list of sources and more info.
The song is a remix of the Marvel vs Capcom 2 Clock Tower Stage theme by MagiCXbeats. You can listen to and buy the song here:
magicxbeat.bandcamp.com/track...
An important note: Information about who animated these cuts is usually from sakuga.yshi.org/. If I or the website have guessed who the animator is there is a (?) next to the animator’s name. If you see that I've credited the wrong animator, please tell me in the comments and I'll correct it.
If I know the animator their name is in brackets next to the source.

What, How the fuck i had never heard about this.
wow.. best tip saves me from having to download the videos
Now I'm glad that Fleisher superman was included because that is pure sakuga
2:30 is simply amazing for the amount of subtlety it has. Like the little amount of laser that escape makes it feel organic.
You should see all the other original shorts. They're so well animated
wow, looks like its rotoscoped m8 :3
@@slumpytony2941 nope. Didn't you read all the way? Also, rodoscoping gives it a way more mechanical look
Slumpy Tony and what if it was still better than most
That whole series has a crazy high quality for its time.
0:30 the insane amount of follow through on that punch, the blur or smear goes past the moment of impact but well past the limits of anatomy straight through the jaw
Amazing application of squash and stretch!
batman the animated/and superman series still have me saying wow years after my childhood ended
The Avengers' scenes were Made by Naotoshi Shida, His style Is soooo great and obvious
I can definitely see Naotoshi Shida's style in some of these. Reminds me a lot of the scenes he did in One Piece.
Arjuna Coles Well, Naotoshi Shida's style is kind of instantly recognizable
Yep, pretty sure he animated the iron man scenes. If he didnt I would be surprised. Shida made One piece and Dragonball super watchable for me as I was getting bored of both series after a while.
@@Rouxgarou96 you piece of crap. Did you just say one piece is boring.
Marvel needs some more Sakuga love.
Too bad Marvel abandoned it's animated films after the MCU.
LOVE IT. Also really dig that Clock Tower remix holy hell, gonna go DL that. 'The Batman' actually had a lot of really sick Korean animation in it as well, especially some of the brawls in the later seasons.
I kind of wish more super hero movies were animated. its probably the only way to make the fantastic 4 look cool
Thank you so much for including The Spectacular Spiderman!!! That's probably my favorite Marvel cartoon and it never gets the love it deserves
Batmas New aventures episode 8 was amazing. Every frame looked gorgeous and the story ufff... one of my favourites.
I didn't know the Avengers anime was of this quality, damn
* Cough Cough * this is Toei animation *Cough Cough* Naotoshi Shida
Watch this gives me the intention that I want to animate
I need MORE of DC Sakuga!!! pls
ruclips.net/video/EzKhI7Llk0A/видео.html
Thoes Batman, the return of the joker scenes blew my mind!
one of the best ones you've ever done imho, love some classic showcases of western animation
Ive never been a fan of DC's overly stiff animation,
that being said,
Batman the animated series has always been the goat, and that superman animation was beyond imagination jeez
That Loki vs Iron Man just screams Shida. It reminds me of Goku vs Goku Black
marvel disk war has some serious god level animation
We need more american sakuga
The whole american animation is sakuga : check tom and jerry
@@weirddude9367 not the whole American animation but agree with Tom and Jerry
The creator overdid himself with it and it was hand drawn on paper
@@drawforge9640 so is not the whole japanese animation, anime fans use the term sakuga where are the parts of a series that the animation is good, most american cartoons have higher frames per second.
@@weirddude9367 lol bruh ive been watching cartoons but anime is more dynamic and fyi high fram dont mean dynamic animation
@@derrickzadok2440 i thought sakuga means good animation not dynamic, but if sakuga means dynamic animation then i guess you are right.
It´s unexpected dc and marvel in sakuga but i love that. There´s some scenes that i like more than others.
Good to see that some American animation can be top tier too
The Avengers' scenes were made by a Japanese xD
But you are right
@@victorlima1503 thats why I said some :P
Actually, not just "some of American animetion" there are a lot of examples of top animation there ( even more then anime could give you ).
When i see how epic western cartoons were in 90's and early 00's
And then i look at modern Cartoon Network, Nick and Disney Cartoon shows...
...Welp, i'm sticking to anime for this decade.
Does anybody want an anime with Bruce Timm's style?
The owl house and the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show have some amazing Sakuga style animation
@@lucylu3342 Yep, Rise of TMNT has a very awesome animation!
...I still dislike modern cartoon humor. It looks too ugly for my taste. I miss kind and innocent humor of 80's cartoons Ducktales and Adventures of Gummi Bears.
Same. It seems like no one in the west wants to take any risk with animations. Not to mention some animation series in the west were ahead of their time. Like tron uprising and motorcity but sadly they both were canceled.
@@KeyleeTamirian as someone who watches modern cartoons your reply is wrong in every way
DAAMMNNN FINE ASS MUSIC CHOICE
The lack of sakuga is generally by biggest problem with western animation
Western??? All of Disney, Warner Bros, Tom and Jerry, Looney Toons, MGM wants to know your location
@@MelloCello7 I think what he meant is like the series type.. most of those that you mentioned is mostly films so of course it's good if you know what i mean
Western anamioton it budget go to most of the scene in the episode unlike Japanese they save the budget for important scene only
@@realnegajpeg9935 do gumball count?
@@seedad117 yes something like gumball and gravity falls
oh man this ost brings back memories
Cool my fav anime
That bane transformation though sick
Episodes with Clayface are always the best to animate.
超強,沒想到早期美國動畫的打鬥卡可以做得跟日本劇場版差不多水平
Eyyy spectacular spiderman is here
Praying for more from Marvel dude
i wished the western industry explores more stylistic and experimental art style, not just these DC/Marvel, Rick & Morty, Steven Universe type of art style......something like Primal or
because i'm sure there's a lot of talented animator out there...
I would have loved to see some scenes from the Batman 2004
i love how theres sakuga on american cartoons
No x-men evo huh? It has some very nice scenes
Can I make a request? I'd like to see some World Masterpiece Theatre animation, or maybe from Manga Sekai Mukashi Banashi if you can. Or anything else with fluid oldschool animation
Most kids won't appreciate these things
Who the fuck told you that?
I'm a kid
Your wrong. As a kid, you may not understand how it's made, but it will have a lasting effect to the point that when you do grow up, you may research more on Animation. Who were the people who Animated specific cuts. Then, you may love the process so much that the kid may become a Animator someday. You ask a lot of these Animators who Animated these cuts what inspired them to be a Animator, most times, they would remember something from your childhood. Children do care about these things, you were probably a child when you have watched Batman the Animated series, now, years later, watching a Sakuga video online. Don't look down on the youth, or your youth.
in growing pains
Was annie called that because she looks she was drawn in the anime art style?
2:15. Wow..
Is it weird of me that I know every natoshino shisa work on this
I like Marvel and DC
Me too 😊
should have been a compilation of the superman cartoon from the 40s
Japanese truly are the kings of animation
Have you ever heard of fluidanims tv? Or pivot stickfigure animator, maybe?
The truth is, Japan is only as strong as you let them be. Praising them doesn't make our animation better.
There are also French animations, for my opinion they have mastered the 12 principles of animation more than Japanese animations did
@@largocharles8729 I know they have tradition, I know they helped shape anime to the point when anime overshadowed and finally killed them, and I'm frankly not a fan of french animation, although I respect what france does in terms of design and art overall.
The fact that France treats the medium with -respect- is the effect of LINGUISTICS. French word for animation is "animé", so they don't have to wrestle with any dumbass censorship authorities when they for once make something that is not intended for kids.
Linguistics are the very thing that shape the world as we know it. If the word "anime" wasn't invented, we would just call it "asian animation" and the entire Asia would be probably responsible for this. I believe the n word is still in use because Americans don't have a non offensive two syllabe equivalent for black people. In Poland we DO have one, so we can talk about these things without offending an entire race.
@@Tycini1 everyone and anyone can be masters or animation if they want too, and no one can be the only master of it, not even a single country.
There is always a person dedicated to it no matter where he is or what way he is using
@@largocharles8729 Thank you Largo. Wouldn't have said it better myself.
Mob Psycho vid taken down?
Cohero Yeah, it was taken down because of the song
Is that marvel vs Capcom music?
DC Animation always become one of the top, unfortunately DCEU not as good as that.
please do russian sakuga
I think the animators who do this forget that little children don't give a shit about good animation.
I love the fact this video celebrated a large variety of eras of animation both with shows from the west and japan ( And both from DC and Marvel ), but I especially smiled when I started hearing the music kick in at the start , a worthy choice considering the subject matter of the video , nice remix of a well loved track too.
Sadly this video made me realise none of the 90s Marvels shows probably had no instances ( Or very few) of Sakuga .... but it still doesn't make me stop loving them anyway. (Especially 90s X-men)
