I got sbd knee sleeves, for the last 10 years im 37 now and I have zero knee pain, I highly recommend them there are no disadvantages to wearing them 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Honestly I was against knee sleeves my first 15 years of lifting. But with some knee injuries over the years the knee sleeves have made it so I can 1.hit good depth without pain and 2.can sit in the hole at the bottom getting a better stretch longer
I just wanted to add a comment regarding knee wraps, there are numerous ways to wrap them. One of the ways for powerlifting to get more weight, another way would be to loosely wrap them around the bottom half of the knee to keep the knee from moving up and down during a squat saving the lifter from pain which is how I used them before knee sleeves became a "thing" and its basically does the same thing.
Ronnie coleman used to wear sleeves on his knees and elbows and sometimes he have his trainer wrap his elbow/knee super tight. He was doing absurd weights though.

His form was actually good almost always but even when he had spinal injury he continued to lift extremely heavy. His problem wasn't wraps or even steroids it was his obsession with lifting. Also I think his doctors were not great or the science wasn't as advanced when he had his first back surgery.

Sam for as hard as you go on squats with 5 plates and above I would have thought you had knee sleeves a long time ago but that’s been one the things I found very unique about you….you don’t use any safety gear …but since we only get older I think those sbd sleeves are actually really nice for you and will give you a little more coming out hole

I didnt go to school and hit legs for 3.5 hours (mostly squats,legpress and leg extensions) until i couldn't barely walk, then i walked for 1 hour(4-5 km, idk hows that in miles) to go home
Yeah stupid thing to do. 3.5h How many sets did you do?? You probably did more harm than good. I'm completely done after approx. 10 hard sets (1rir or failure).
@@railasvuo 2 warm ups, 1 feeder set, 3 working and 1 top and another top with drop with 2-3 minutes rest (for squats and leg presses but in legpress i dont do dropset); most exercises i do 1 warmup, 1 feeder, 2 working and 1 top for 1.5 to 2 minutes rest, only diference in bulgarian squats as they are the last exercise i dont do warm up, only 1 feeder and 2 working sets(no top sets or like til failure)
@@pat7160 I would say that you probably do quite a lot of junk volume. I do 2-3 warm-up sets at the beginning of the training, but as the training progresses, I may not do more than 1-2 because the muscles are already warm. And I usually do 3-4 movements and 3 sets per workout. If your workout really lasts that 3.5 hours, it's way too much and probably everyone agrees. Try to increase the intensity of the training and I am 100% sure that you will not be able to train for 3.5 hours
@@railasvuo not really,there is a method where you count only "valid/effectual sets" as they are the only intense enough to stimulates or causes muscle growth aka muscle hypertrophy; warmups and feeder doesnt count as valid or effectual sets cuz they are warmups and "recon" for the real weight, i saw more progress when i started doing this method with low to medium volume for the legs instead of high volume with conventinial training method
And about training intense enough, i had like some little noss bleeds and etc, sweating and being out of breath doesnt means intense training for the muscles and most of my friends dont like hitting legs with me cuz i do like tom platz sh*t and one of them almost throw up during one training

Been rockin knee sleeves for 10+ yrs. After a couple meniscus tares that both occurred while squatting heavy without sleeves I’ve learned my lesson.
