@piho1 they did, on Main Vein - A funk Odyssey. She was more backing vocals but I think that's when he got a taste of backing singers and went forth with them on the next album.
The brass section is the one Jason Mraz uses for his tour and stuff. It can only beautifully supports this amazing cover. Thank you for the ears my lady ;)
@DiegoCarrera1 The instrumental is nowhere near as good but you have to admit, her vocal is much more powerful than Jay Kay's. I too prefer the Jamiroquai version and I love Jay Kay's voice, it's superb, but Beverley has done an amazing version of the song. Cover's are rarely as good as the original but as far as covers go, this one is VERY good!
