How she is still in her job is unbelievable. We do not want this new hate speech legislation. EU migration pact was passed without any discussion or debate because gov't knew lrish people would not want us to opt in. They have no regard for what lrish people want for this country.
It's really not about hate speech, it's about the suppression of truth.

What about the gay men in sligo where are their statues, and all the women that were beaten or murdered. Whats so special about her,, she is milking it.

Let them put their statue up, but how long it will stand is anybody's guess!! It seems a few years ago, an unfortunate trend started where we rip down those who've achieved something and elevate those who've achieved precisely nothing, and indeed, perpetrated rather a lot of damage e.g. George Floyd!

How long is our Government going to kneel down and let EU /WEF representatives order us about. It's time the government grew a spine.

On the definitional problem. It beggers belief that any legal system would even draft legislation without defining the meaning of the words used. Blacks dictionary is published specifically because it is essential the legal profession has a statement about what is the meaning of a word at the time it is used.
I live in the north of Ireland, in the six counties , some people might say my description of where I live could constitute a hate crime as it doesn’t acknowledge the state of Northern Ireland and it’s loyal citizens but in all honesty there’s hardly a person living up here that wouldn’t fall foul of the Hate legislation as we are too comfortable with the sectarianism within our society . The thousands of Orange parades that take place annually with “ Blood and Thunder” bands robustly battering their bass drums as loud as they can playing tunes that harken back generations celebrating the battles the Protestants won over the Catholic population and the subsequent massacres that inevitably took place could easily be prosecuted under the Hate laws , if these parades celebrated the domination or defeat of Hindus, Jews or Muslims they would be stopped immediately and quite rightly too . The Catholic population of the north has been subjected to these intimidating, militaristic parades for many generations but because the participants are part of the establishment they are deemed acceptable, many political leaders and heads of industry actually take part . The sectarianism pervasive still within our society in the north is ignored while in the south you jail people for refusing to use the pronoun that certain individuals demand contrary to the accepted rules of grammar . Freedom of speech should always be protected , we can always agree to disagree , a problem arises though when speech is deliberately used to incite violence against an individual or individuals or to undermine their own fundamental rights within society including the right to be left alone .

9:58 is my problem with the conversation about free speech. It doesn't seem to have allowances for hate crimes towards the majority. Surely, it should be a law to protect all, not just people who are considered minorities.
