Yes, the older dog immediately feels rejected. They should always be embraced at the same time as the reveal. Probability is the older dog won't be resentful to the new one.
They were only trying to protect the little one. Just incase the bigger dog jumps in excitement. Don't jump to silly conclusions.
The guy at 11:40 is an asshole for forcefully pushing the other dog away while it was just trying to check out the new puppy. That dog wasn't't doing anything wrong to get pushed like that.
