I suspect this is an 'always on' setup. Most rails have a switch hidden at the end of the legs too. Far better to get a timer. I got this one avenir.com.au/products/copy-of-universal-wifi-touch-timer-switch-white which can be controlled by the switch manually or my mobile phone using automation or timers. handy when I'm on the couch and want to heat the towel for my shower.
Just put a dwang in and have the cable coming out in the right place. also put some timber in to fix the thing to so your not wasting time drilling 6 holes for 1 fixing.
Thanks for the Video, jelious of that Hot Wire brand, I'm a fan of the hidden hard wire setup. I'm going to be installing a Phoenix Vivid 550mm HTR, which doent have the luxury of the hidden setup. Have you any recommendation for a neat hardwire install that isnt a GPO? Im going to be running it off a Livella Floor Heating controller with an Appliance Manger.
Isn't it funny when you write something down you think of an answer yourself. I think I will just drill and 8mm hole and solder and heat shrink my terminations push them into the cavity the grout/silicone up around the HTR supply wire. :)
P.S I hope you advise the sparky that you haven't connected the towel rail or he might miss those cables if you cover them up. Best you fit a warning label to the HTR as a reminder for the sparky that it is not connected.
You spared no expense on the new bathroom James. It turned out amazing!!
+Mondo 1310 Thanks Mondo, Its getting there. would be great if I could afford the cabinetry...
How do you turn it on/off?
where is the switch to control the heating on/off?

Just just switch it from the lighting circuit (have a separate switch for the thing)
Thanks for this video. Out of curiosity, in this instance, where would the electrician wire to? External wire running down the wall?
