You are phenomenal Luke, great skill, amazing tricks! I look up to you and your playing abilities:) I've been drumming for 11yrs now and hope to incorporate some tricks in. Thanks for this video, it'll help :)
Fantastic advise right out of the gate Luke! Playing should always dominate showmanship...many confuse this. You really have to be able to play first to even get to the stage. Great video guys and superb and tasteful drumming as always Luke!! Little Drummer Channel ;)
the glenn kotche sticks have a handle, finger shaped groove it was odd at first but i love them for practice the grooves remind me to have balanced grip :)
i think its awesome... yeah rudiments is IMPORTANT... keeping in time is important... but whe you play live... its not the ears working only.. you're eyes too.. hearing a great drummer and seeing him do this?? cmon man its awesome.. at the end of the day.. the reason why people watch this videos is to learn more.. so yeah awesome dude
Best guess: 14" Byzance Traditional Hats, 18" Sand FX Crash, 22" Byzance Extra Dry Ride, And what looks like a 28" Byance Brilliant Crash. I know it's been a month but, hope this helps! Great cymbals.
Yeah I literally just saw those and I feel just a little stupid xD This is what happens when you get angry and go onto the internet. Thanks for bringing Luke onto the show and for making great content :)
Doubt I'll get a response, but have a question. Can you play open handed if you want? This is the next generation of a "Travis" type drummer, but far more skilled. CHARGERS??? Come on now lol
I'm not saying anything bad about your drumming but Imagine if you'd spent the time practising the drums instead of the tricks? (I'm an old guy who's of the opinion that Roger Taylor is the only drummer who can get away with stick twirling)
So tired of these videos preaching that these tricks should not be done if you aren't a proficient drummer. If you are going to make a stick trick video, just make the stick trick video. Let the people watching decide how they want to incorporate it. (bernie)
You and cooperdrummer with your long ass lectures about tricks. If you’re a good player and shit why not incorporate some tricks? They’re fun and entertaining for your audience.
Jazzdrummer never us stick tricks because there are "drummer" (musicians)! Doent follow that crap. Learn play drums and make music! This guy plays drum like a beginner!
luke: h-
host: wow, that was awesome man
Hahah
I think it's good with showman drummers, it makes the show more interesting and the drummer will capture the attention of the crowd more
GREAT advice, thanks Luke. Passion for the art of quality in music is KEY.
Yes! Thank you! I've been waiting for a stick trick video with Luke Holland for so long :D

Luke Holland smoked a fat blunt right before these 180 lessons
I noticed that too, especially because I started playing drums and smoking pot the same time (13 yo) so the two seem to go hand in hand
I’ve actually never smoked weed but I hear this a lot 😂
@@LukeHollandDrums shit he replied😂😂
Can't wait to see more!

A video for millions of kids to procrastinate their rudiments.
joel william fuck off mate. It's pretty cool for live shows.
So is playing well, take it easy I'm having a laugh
he did give a disclaimer about the importance of actual playing when compared to stick tricks
joel william sorry man :( took it hard haha
i think its awesome... yeah rudiments is IMPORTANT... keeping in time is important... but whe you play live... its not the ears working only.. you're eyes too.. hearing a great drummer and seeing him do this?? cmon man its awesome.. at the end of the day.. the reason why people watch this videos is to learn more.. so yeah awesome dude
It may not be that it is done for Timing but it definitely enhances Timing , also develops form.
Understood.... must watch more t.v.
Thx for this.
Luke is the best! Look at his covers if you haven't already.
This is soo good
I'd love to know the specs on those cymbals. Love the sound!
Best guess: 14" Byzance Traditional Hats, 18" Sand FX Crash, 22" Byzance Extra Dry Ride, And what looks like a 28" Byance Brilliant Crash. I know it's been a month but, hope this helps! Great cymbals.
Ah, and the stack is his signature Bullet Stack.
14 traditional hats, 20 vintage trash crash, 21 transition ride, 19 brilliant medium thin crash, Bullet stack

Moises Martinez I never stated matt was better, I was suggesting that they get another drummer on to show his technique
Like as if he's gonna throw the gems
NICE!!!!!!
How long has this video been sitting around for? He's had a full sleeve for ages now
Matt Fuhrer Not even, he got the generic warped tour sleeve within the last year or so. Which is incredibly annoying.
Matt Fuhrer annoying how
FanaticalDrummer generic warped tour sleeve hahaaaaaaaaa
He isn’t even using DW drums either
Luke is a great drummer. The other dude looks like a very young Conan O'Brien lol!

Thomas Lang has a wider variety of tricks. I would check him out.
Get Travis barker on the show
Pls get Steve Augustine to do a lesson
In modern marching almost tricks are timed and written out
Luke Holland: Meinl endorser, but a Zildjian EFX cymbal on the stack to his right 😂😂
Renco they’re both meinl. 16”byzance vintage trash crash under a 12” classics custom trash splash
lmao he missed the cymbal grap at the very beggining my man
Of all the reasons to bring Luke onto the show you choose stick tricks?
Hey Jake, we shot lessons with Luke for 2 days... All kinds of lessons, only 2 on stick tricks :)
Yeah I literally just saw those and I feel just a little stupid xD This is what happens when you get angry and go onto the internet. Thanks for bringing Luke onto the show and for making great content :)
Time to make sure that my rudiments look good

Doubt I'll get a response, but have a question. Can you play open handed if you want?
This is the next generation of a "Travis" type drummer, but far more skilled. CHARGERS??? Come on now lol

Lol this video is old. Where are Luke's tattoos? He has a finished arm.
Luke Holland est humain...il s est loupé à 6 30... mdr
I'm not saying anything bad about your drumming but Imagine if you'd spent the time practising the drums instead of the tricks? (I'm an old guy who's of the opinion that Roger Taylor is the only drummer who can get away with stick twirling)

Trust me, he's more than just a fancy drummer, he is an insane technical player
So tired of these videos preaching that these tricks should not be done if you aren't a proficient drummer. If you are going to make a stick trick video, just make the stick trick video. Let the people watching decide how they want to incorporate it. (bernie)
Uselass...only for zircus!
Clearly u don't know what Luke is capable of. Which is a bit of a shame. Super nice person too. 🍻
