Hi, Does the contourmarks from beams on plats show in the DXF? In the older versions i can se the contourmarks in a dstv-viewer but when i convert the files in to DXF or DWG the contourmarks are gone. How do i get the contourmarks from beams to show in the DWG?
How come on a base plate I can get the scribe of my column to show up, but I can't get the scribe to show up on the cap plate? I can see it on the underside of the DSTV file, but not on the DXF file. It doesn't matter what option is chosen on the "side to convert" option in the environment tab.
In a quick test I'm getting scribes on both top and bottom plates. Please reach out to your local support. This is kind of hard to diagnose over youtube comments.
@@TrimbleTeklaDave no problem. In advanced settings you have to change XS DSTV WRITE BEHIND FACE FOR PLATE to true. Now we can use front and back in the side to convert. With that setting in false you can only use front.
hello, can anyone tell me something about XS_USE_SMART_PAN?? i look for this month already. Im still use Tekla Structures 19.1... is there also an option like XS_USE_SMART_PAN? Cause i cant stop the chessboard view in drawings at my Dell notebook. thx
In Korea, all factories that automatically cut pipes and steel plates in 3D cannot use modeling files created using a tekla structure for 3D cutting. Are you willing to try to solve these problems?
Studs can be created as "Bolts" or as "Parts". If modeled as Parts you just weld them like any other part. If modeled as Bolts, make sure they are Workshop bolts, and enable Pop-Marks. Under the pop-marking options, there is a "Add to center of stud" setting you can enable. This will also transfer to the DXF during conversion.
The DXF files are exported in millimeters 2023, but in 2022 the converter would export in feet and inches. How do I change it to export in feet and inches?
In the old .DEF file, the setting for SCALE_DSTV_BY was 0.03937. If you are finding that the new dialog is not generating the DXF correctly, the setting is named the same on the Environment tab and you can use the same value.
Hi, Dave! I had used this converter extensively during 2020-2022 and have some questions. First of all, it's good to see that bend lines for simple 90deg angled bentplates are now fixed and are present on dxf output. So if you use anything newer than 2019i Tekla it will not be an issue. But I wanted to ask if this tool would have any updates soon? There is an issue with bend lines. Problem is with those bend lines' ends. There is no control over how those ends should be. They can be inside unfolded contour or cross through it. Do you have any info about this problem?
It would be nice to explain the settings to export for imperial. The defaults on an imperial project do not export imperial DXF's you have to manually change the scale

When making embeds, how do you weld a stud to it so it will show up on the DXF file, so I can have the layout scribed by my laser?

Dave, we’re the slot sizes fixed in localization for this tool in 2023?
I'd have to look into this, was not aware of anything requiring localization.
Dave, does this application have a line by line or tab by tab explanation of it's features/options in the Tekla User Assistance library?
Never mind Dave, I found it.

Hi, I do not. Might be best to reach out to your local support, I have not tried anything with bend lines in the export.
