Thank you for a very good video. Those Li-Ion cells - are they salvaged from a laptop computer battery? 540mAh discharge current seems a bit low for power tools, but it looks like they work for your Bosch drill. I have a cheap Chinese made 14.4V (NiCd) cordless drill and many old laptop Li-Ion cells. I will try this for myself, but I think that the laptop cells may not provide enough current.
I found one on a thrift shop and was afraid to buy it as I thought it was a screw driver only. It was going for $6, I will have to revisit and get it if it is still there.
@@CristianDIY thanks, went back to the shop and found it. Tested it it works but it has no charger, I have to hook up with an aftermarket charger/battery combo on Amazon, saw one for like $23 which is still a reasonable total amount in my opinion.
@@CristianDIY Being a fiddler, I will definitely go the DIY route BUT that depends on whether I can import batteries to my country and the costs for importing them. Often, carriers like Aramex that I am using have a list of items that they do not ship. I ordered Basil and Dill seeds in vain...
I have just finished modifying a 15 cell NiCd to 5 cell 18650 + BMS. No to butcher the battery casing, just find a way to fit and cable all the batteries in the space allowed. Remember Murphys' Law ... any one modification requires an infinite number of further modifications ...
Good Job. But consider that those batteries are not High Current apparently. Each can draw 3A-5A as I remember correctly. Maybe their Puls current is 9A or 10A. Your config is 4s2p. So the current will be double. Still is not enough for the drill I guess. Because the drill draw at least 20A continuesly. So these battery won't last long. Anyway the Idea is great and your work is pretty clean and PRO
I appreciate your opinion , i've test the battery pack with some serious scrow and its stay cold , i will see in future , if something go wrong i will make an update ! Thank you
Excellent Christi, bravo!
Thank you ! ❤️

Just be sure if you have 5 cells in series , each cell need to have at less 20A discharge rate
Great job. I have the same model drill.
Thank you ! ❤️
Excellent work
Very good... muito bom fiz como vc e deu muito certo, tem outros vídeos mas não são verdadeiros queimei duas placas bms.
Nice work thanks👍
Li-Ion to NiCd, or the other way arround??? What do you have and to what do you want to convert it ???

I tried, but it stop when i try to drill, the bms stop working, because of suddenly over current drown
are 2 reason for stop working:
1 the battery pack need to be charge, and all battery need to be at the same voltage
2 Bms do not support 30-40 amps
