Loved to have had you for my " TRADE SCHOOL " Instructor back in High School, Your great , Sir !
Thank you!
It's awesome you tell and show what you are doing easy for anyone to understand what you're doing.
Love ya work Div. Just a rat rod. No way. You're building with the care of a Rolls. Great stuff.
Thanks brother! 👍
You got it going on with engine and looks great! That flat plate and tubing cost makes my wallet shrink like a swim in cold waters. Expensive it is now! DK, Omaha.
Everything expensive these days!🙈
Awesome Div. Thats looking great. Thanks for the history lesson too. I enjoyed the tech talk and explanation. Thank you for sharing boet.
Hey boet! Yes, you like the tech stuff. Think you will really enjoy next week's vid. Let's see...🙂
Good to see you back dude! Hope all is well.
Still kicking! 😄
looking good my friend , im catching up on videos
One more job knocked off the list and done to perfection looks good
Love the way you teach people all the steps threw a build. So many people just show you on camera what they done. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge
You are welcome! Thanks
Great work 👍👍👍awesome video
Thank you 👍.
At last. Was already missing you.😜👍
Welcome back Div, Sundays are not the same without you. Great progress on the engine and transmission mounts. Nice job Boet. 👌 Take care my friend, see you next time. 👍
Thanks brother!
Fun fact, Canadian cars used to be right hand drive up until the 1920's when they switched to driving on the right to facilitate traffic to and from the United States.
Hey brother, great job again. Whenever you want to understand something better, we do too. So keep drawing your diagrams. It helps us see what you are thinking.
One small step for the rat rod build. One giant leap for DIY kind.
👍🏻👍🏻 from me!
Thanks brother!
Div!!! You never cease to amaze me!!! Ive swapped a few engines in my time and even made my own motor mounts and trans mounts buy man did I thoroughly enjoy your jig you made with the bolts that you supported your engine with from underneath and also used the bolts to tweak and get it perfectly level. Very clever!!! I will add that to my tool bag Boet!! Great stuff!!! See ya in the next one!!
Thanks boet. Yes, that simple jig really makes it easy to set up perfectly
@@ratrodsafrica worked like a champ!!!
Excellent! I don't have any tools. Yet, you make it look so easy. I am about to buy a 1954 International harvester pickup that needs work. You convinced me that anyone can do it.
You can do it! Persistence and patience is the main thing. And start collecting some tools🙂
Very nice work building both of those mounts ….
Food for thought, they make a hydraulic accelerator pedal for use in boats. It would give you more possibilities for your accelerator if you don't have a linkage.
I really enjoy watching your problem solving and fabrication skills. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching brother!
Diff is back I missed you last week boet. Awesome fabricating on Enjen and gearbox mounts and thanks for explaining your method. Thanks for sharing your video. Take care boet.
Thanks boet. And pleasure
The temporary support cradle for the engine while working out the engine mounts, was a hell of a good idea. Well done, sir!
Glad you liked it, works well!
🌽🌽🌽... Glad to see you're doing well and back in action Div. Cannot wait to hear that engine 🔥 up...
The farther back the engine is, the better the balance of the car is.
Man u really help a guy in building a real rat rod truck very inspiring and teaching u do such a great job Duff I believe watching u I can start my own builds 👍👍👍😎
I'm happy if I can inspire man!
Nice rake and engine angle. Especially as I decided on the same 3 degrees of rake and three degrees of backward engine angle on my project just a few months ago too.👍
The Hudson is a cool truck, nice to see the progress
Nice! Great minds think alike! 😁
Hi-def we love watching you from Weston West Virginia in the United States of America
Hello Weston!
Lekka job Diff. I'm diggin the build. Lekka attn to detail. No question
"THAT truck will be a BEAST"
Those ford mounts you can drill a hole thru the rubber and bolt it together. It is a fail safe incase mount brakes. Been doing that since the 70s
That's not a had idea! Thanks
Nice job div. I enjoy the way you work with what you,ve got. A rare talent 👍
Thanks
Very nice job on the engine mounts. Truck is coming right along nicely.
Thank you
My first Legal Car at 16 was a 66 Cutlass with Big Block Chevy. I set my ride height low in front also. Love the Rake👍
👍🏻Nice job! Looking good! Thanks for the schooling
Hi Diff, 3° is what most manufacturers go by, thats why your Carb is now level.
Always good work and thanks for the history on the Hudsons. Hope you are ok..Paul from Ohio..
Awesome morning brother great to see you again brother !!!!!! Pray all is going well with yall again !!! Have been waiting patiently to see a new video lol !!! Great to see you again brother !!! Awesome progress so far
You will probably have, one of the fastest Hudson in South Africa 👍
Brother the Hudson is looking awesome....thanks for posting a new video
Missed you last week. Always glad to see your progress. Found you back at 7k, happy that you’re almost twice that now.
Thanks for the support.
Looking good, very rare and a great bit of fun to preserve for the future!
I think so too! 👍
If you're happy with it, so am I. Looks great! Cheers from the shed
++++,+++, that’s a very positive comment ⚡️
It's looking great, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones, have a Lekka one,
Cool back on the build glad to see you again working on your project take care div.
Your set up worked perfectly and so very well thought out. Always appreciate the explanations of how and why you're designing of what you're building and the fabrication of your parts and diagrams for a visual.
Thank you and pleasure!
looks good is there rubber in the enginmount?
Yes sir!
The facts about Hudson are pretty interesting!! Great job on getting the engine and transmission mounts done!! It’s coming along nicely!!
Another informative and educational video ! I didn't realize there was so much geometry involved in an engine to frame swap. As you have said , just because it's a rat rod doesn't mean you can have shoddy workmanship. This was another big step in the build that is now behind you ! You're doing an awesome job there Bro.
Thanks brother. Yes, having a rusty cab doesn't mean we should have crappy engineering 🙂
With only about 650 commercial vehicles made in 39 it really makes you wonder how many of them got shipped to South Africa. Has to be super rare. Back to my binge...Lekka Boet!!
Yes, good question!
Looking better all the time Div. You're making progress in leaps and bounds.
I think your motormounts will hold that big horse in the stall just fine
Looking good as usual, Looking forward to seeing the next steps 😁👍
Carb mount should be level
That's what I did brother
Hey from Mississippi brother just got time to watch
Another enjoyable video Diff, always helpful explanations. 0:01 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi Div, here's another piece of Hudson trivia for you. In 1947, Hudson's distributor was building a new $1.2 million dollar assembly plant in Johannesburg.
Wow! Interesting
Nice work div, and thanks for the history lesson on the Hudson, the hornet definitely had an impact on what was Winston cup racing and it was surprising to hear they had factories in Africa, I learned something new today, lookin good brother keep em coming
We get Made in India mounts in Canada, too. Nice work on the mount brackets. Did they have to be all that strong? It's not like you're running a Chevy V8, it's only a Ford. (...and the bickering begins...) Hudson's racing successes were partly due to its 308 cu. in. Flathead Six, and the low center of gravity in the "Step Down" models. The drivers likely think they had something to do with it, too.
😂 Where's my popcorn! Interesting to hear those Indian mounts are also by you
Welcome back Div, another job done properly. I love this Hudson truck. Something different from the norm. Lekker man.
Dankie Jacques!
Nice job Div, you'll be driving it soon, lol.
A true master and you explain things so well. Very good video. I will watch all your videos.
Thank you! Welcome to my shop😊
Exhalent Job on the motor mounts Div.i need to do the exact same thing when I put my new rebuilt V8 flatty in my 1930 AA wrecker this summer
All the best with your project!
Great vid, got my cuppa, my RRR shirt on ... mate says it's a self-portrait, except I don't smoke ;) Missed ya last weekend, but this vid made up for it... thank you for a great start to my Sunday. Differential pinion angle relative to Transmission output shaft angle, good lesson to learn... I have seen a lot of engine mounts that go across the front of the engine, as one single plate... that's engine mounted direct to frame, must be really noisy... I like you are still working with proper mounts, to help insulate the engine from the rest of the truck. Great work as always Div, danke boet !
Thanks brother! That solid mount business is race car stuff. Noisy and lots of vibration! My beard is grey now, want a more comfortable ride🙂
Great video , lots of mechanical knowledge for your viewers . Good stuff !!!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it
Hey Div. Good video. It is surprising how much you can find out on the internet. Good to see that you have the drive train in the truck. Now all you have left is the rest. 🤣🤣Thanks for sharing.👍👍🍁
Only the rest 😂
Great video as always. Thanks!
DIV, you and ratrodbob never fail to amaze me with your fabrication skills ! Keep it coming !
Thanks brother!
Hey Div
Here in California we call tapit covers valve covers. Also spirit levels we just call them levels The little level you have, we call torpedo levels. And gearbox mount we called thim crossmembers . Or at least that’s how I’ve heard it not everybody probably says the same thing . I really like hearing the different ways things are called that’s awesome .
Great video you’re moving right along especially with all the camera set up an editing. Thanks
Thanks man. Yes, interesting all the different words for the same thing. Here's another one. We call a fender a mud guard 🙂
Thanks for the history brother ! Kick azz as always ! I enjoy the knowledge and experience you share with the world !
My pleasure!
Another great video. Looking good 👍👍
I’m amazed how well you can make this look easy, but I know it’s not easy, you are one of my top 3 channels, here on u- tube, I hope you have a great week, looking forward to the next video, have a great day my friend. Brian.
Wow, thank you Brian!
You can buy a digital inclinometer real cheap, Diff - they're magnetic, tiny and precise - you can bang it onto the block & tune the angle bang-on. I have one & they're very handy - dirt cheap too.
I've seen those, but not in shops near me. Guess I can order one, but my old school model has been doing the job well enough 😁
Thanks for the LEKKA talk this morning when I turned up unannounced at your place. Also nice of you to escort my low little car out of the muddy mess.
No problem, thanks for the visit!
Looking forward to seeing more videos.
The Hudson is diamond in the rough Div.
Knap gedaan Div!!! Dit is sowaar soos jy sê 'n "mile stone " die res is nog steeds baie werk maar downhill . Mooi Div . Ek geniet jou werk .
Dankie Kalli!
Excellent work mate, pleasure to watch your videos👍💀
Thanks brother!
I was feeling your videos.
You probably take your welding table for granted, but I’ve never seen anything like that before here in the states. Can you give us a little background on it?
It's actually just an old cast iiron woodworking machine that I repurposed. It used to be a massive old spindle, like a king size router table. That's why there is a big hole in the middle. I just covered it with a piece of plywood so stuff won't fall through
Thanks again for another awesome adventure with you in progressing with your work of art !!!! Brother you are by far one of the best channels that I watch !!! Great to see yall again and have an awesome day brother ( leeka one )
Thanks man! Big compliment!
Visited a auto parts show last week, the engine and gear box mountings are getting very complex now. Lots of designs
Yes, but we like to keep it old school!😄
Looks good. Got the hard part out of the way.
simply brilliant fabrication love watching you work and learning all the time thank you
Thanks bro!
Thanks for another great and informative video Diff :)
Pleasure mate!
Nice to see more progress on installing the motor and transmission. In the past, I have used bushing material on the tubing part of the mount where the bolt goes through. Your cradle bracket was a good tool to get your engine placement bubble inside the lines.
Thank you. Yes, the cradle helped a lot!
Looking good brother keep up the good work. Love the fact you’re doing this way out in cow county lol 😊
Thank you! Mooo! 😂
Welcome back ! Great to see the engine/ gearbox and chassis unified ! 👍
Well done again Diff great work
Great to see you Back Div , thanks for the tips regards the degrees of the gearbox and engine
Diff, love your work, and how well you show how things go together, Keep rocking it and building rat rods! Much respect!
Thank you brother!
Love the way you work things out
Diff hope all is ok with you haven’t seen anything from you in a bit now we’ll hope all is ok.
Thanks brother. All good, just some other "life stuff" I had to sort out :)
love watching how your mind works, it is obvious you have been at this for quits some time, all the best to you my friend
Thank you kindly.
Nice work! Enjoyed the Hudson history too 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Glad to have you back. Hope all your challenges were resolved successfully. Another enjoyable hangout watching this build come together. Thank you as always for the fun. 😊👍👍
Yes, at it again🙂 Thanks
Really great video and the mounts turned out great.
Thanks!
Glad to see you back brother
Awesome, nice to see you back!
Southern US ,valve cover.
Another enjoyable video Diff your engineering skills are incredible
Thank you!
👍
✌ Keep on Truckin !!
