Hello , I found your channel a couple of weeks ago and I'm making my way through the videos. Absolutely brilliant, you always make us smile 😀 thanks so much, just what we all need in these strange unsettling times. So grateful for all your efforts x
Cheap cola reminds me of my nan. My nan always had a bottle of cheap cola for when her grandkids came over to visit. My mum only ever allowed us to have pop at Christmas off the milkman (glass bottles of Corona) so it was a treat having the cola at my nans. It was always flat because it would be opened for weeks sometimes but I still liked it.
Yep, my nan got Corona bottles of pop from the milkman, that she kept in her freezing cold coal cellar. Is it me or did it seen to stay fizzier in glass bottles?
Theres an easy way to keep carbonation in cola, or any fizzy drink, including beer. It's all to do with how the drink is poured into the glass. Hold the glass close to the bottle top and tilt to towards the bottle. Then, pour the drink gently out so that it hits the inside of the glass, first, not the liquid that's already inside. Keep doing this until you have enough liquid in the glass. It means you don't get a "head" on the drink, but that's a small price to pay for more carbonation in the fluid.
They haven't caught up. It's just diet coke is really bad. Don't get me wrong they're not as bad now as they used to be but theyre still not very good.

Hi, Gareth. You have opened my eyes to all those ASDA Just Essential items. Haven't tried the diet coke yet, but will be looking for this on my next shop. One request (I don't believe has been covered anywhere) from ASDA fridges, is Just Essential's Orange Juice, which is delicious. Thanks Davy.
Absolutely love your videos since I stumbled across them on one of the regular occasions I've fallen down the RUclips rabbit hole! What's your camera set up? Is it a selfie stick?
Dandelion and burdock is the only fizz I drink nowadays apart from the occasional lager, I do sometimes buy proper cola for when family come round but it’s so expensive, I doubt they’d enjoy the essentials one but I’ll probably buy it just to see. Thanks x
Asda essentials what keeping family fed at moment, soup , pasta , cheese, frozen foods etc There chocolate bar good as well can add hot sauce , salt etc to pep up the taste
I am a big coke fan but don't like it in the plastic bottles, like it from cans or glass bottles, the taste is different and doesn't go flat as quick love Kim xx
I prefer Pepsi to any others especially the sugar free Pepsi Max which has MUCH more flavour than Diet Coke and I don’t mind paying extra over the own brand Cola’s. I would buy the own brands as mixers though.
@@BaldFoodieGuy Surfactants are chemicals that decrease the surface tension of a liquid. They will therefore make it a bit easier for bubbles to form. Regarding Diet Coke, aspartame, and potassium benzoate (a preservative) are surfactants! Caffeine as well, but it has much less of an effect due to its low concentration. Bubbles of gas will struggle to form in very viscous liquids, like maple syrup or waffle batter. Diet soda actually has a slightly higher viscosity than sugary soda, which slightly diminishes its fizzing potential. However, a slightly higher viscosity means that when bubbles do form, they’re a bit more stable. This explains why Diet Coke not only fizzes more than classic Coke, but the foam also lasts longer!
I used to love a cheapy cola because of the taste! Reminded me of the Peacock brand we used to get in the 70s from the corner shop. But now you can't tell the difference in taste, so it's definitely the cheap one for me!
I find the problem with the cheaper drinks is if your not drinking the whole bottle pretty quick the whole bottle goes flat pretty fast. Only exception to the rules that I've found is sainsbury own brand cola which I prefer than normal and it keeps its fizz abit better.
I tried the essential coke recently. So long as it is served ice cold and the bottle finished within 2/3 days it's not bad. The missus likes it and has switched brands.
In the past I found that the Aldi brand chepo Cola to be the best of the cheap pop, do they sell it anymore though? It was nice when Ice cold out of the fridge, very horrid when luke warm. The Tesco ex-17p cola was terrible Ice code or warm though. I tend to find 'most' cheapo pops don't taste too bad asnd are hald decent if you keep them ice cold. Soon as they warm up they start tasking like cheap pop.
The price difference comes from the cost of carbonation. CO2 gas is astronomical in price. The syrup used will be similar in taste but after the basic one has been sat in your alcohol drink for a while I would imagine you'd notice the difference more.
I'm not a Coke fan, so this is about your banging door, fold up some kitchen paper or tissue and put it in between the door and the door jamb (just open the door slightly) and just keep a bit of the tissue in your fingers which will stick out of the door, but it'll work a treat! Banging doors absolutely drive me to distraction. Thumbs up or thumbs down don't matter except that they both count towards the algorithm, you won't get bad marks for thumbs down 😊
Hi Gareth , wow again with the price between the to , and the taste practically the same , absolutely amazing , Have go and get some quick !! Great video Gareth . Regards mark
The 23p diet lemonade from Aldi is just as good as any branded stuff, and way better than the "top 4" supermarkets value range. But for me if a pop is cold and wet, it tastes fine and has way less sugar.
Great video.I`ve been drinking the just essentials for years.I`m a truck driver so a bottle goes in my work bag and lasts me 2-3 days.Much cheaper than a cuppa at a burger van and well worth 20p.
I stopped drinking fizzy drinks about 4 years ago and would go for the value ranges when I did. I preferred lemonade over coke. Somebody once tested the Tesco value cola to clean their toilet with and said it did a good job cleaning their loo.
The bubbles on the glass isnt dirt, its caused by the surface having imperfections like tiny scratches. If the glass is wet, it wont bubble up as much as well.
