Cheap cola reminds me of my nan. My nan always had a bottle of cheap cola for when her grandkids came over to visit. My mum only ever allowed us to have pop at Christmas off the milkman (glass bottles of Corona) so it was a treat having the cola at my nans. It was always flat because it would be opened for weeks sometimes but I still liked it.

Theres an easy way to keep carbonation in cola, or any fizzy drink, including beer.
It's all to do with how the drink is poured into the glass.
Hold the glass close to the bottle top and tilt to towards the bottle. Then, pour the drink gently out so that it hits the inside of the glass, first, not the liquid that's already inside. Keep doing this until you have enough liquid in the glass.
It means you don't get a "head" on the drink, but that's a small price to pay for more carbonation in the fluid.

@@BaldFoodieGuy Surfactants are chemicals that decrease the surface tension of a liquid. They will therefore make it a bit easier for bubbles to form. Regarding Diet Coke, aspartame, and potassium benzoate (a preservative) are surfactants! Caffeine as well, but it has much less of an effect due to its low concentration.
Bubbles of gas will struggle to form in very viscous liquids, like maple syrup or waffle batter. Diet soda actually has a slightly higher viscosity than sugary soda, which slightly diminishes its fizzing potential. However, a slightly higher viscosity means that when bubbles do form, they’re a bit more stable. This explains why Diet Coke not only fizzes more than classic Coke, but the foam also lasts longer!

The Tesco ex-17p cola was terrible Ice code or warm though. I tend to find 'most' cheapo pops don't taste too bad asnd are hald decent if you keep them ice cold. I'm not a Coke fan, so this is about your banging door, fold up some kitchen paper or tissue and put it in between the door and the door jamb (just open the door slightly) and just keep a bit of the tissue in your fingers which will stick out of the door, but it'll work a treat! Banging doors absolutely drive me to distraction. Thumbs up or thumbs down don't matter except that they both count towards the algorithm, you won't get bad marks for thumbs down 😊

I was thinking the same caffeine doesn't agree with me, used to enjoy the asda caffeine free cola in cans not seen it in ages makes me wonder if they switch it into these bottles as it wasn't selling much. Will have to give it a try.

Just in Asda now and they've got some Asda festive slices. £2. Worth a review maybe. They're with the chilled pies, pasties etc. Clear and red packaging. Maybe do a Vs with the Greggs as I think that's out now or soon

Don't really drink cola, but if I do, it has to be from a small glass bottle, you can't beat coke from a glass bottle, do you like it from glass Gareth??

Just to say Gareth this was an "instaclick" for me, and my mum loved it too. We'll definitely pick up a bottle to do a taste test of our own! Got two suggestions for you product wise... 1) Aldi do in their Vive juice range Fanta and Lilt "dupes", I feel the "Fake Fanta" tastes better and at a fraction of the cost too! Second, do a Asda-Morrisons-Sainsburys create your own pizza comparison for quality and price (just stick to a generic pepperoni for ease of comparison). Keep up the good work, mate!

Great review, Gareth. Surprising, eh ? Enjoy a glass of Chilled Diet Coke myself, always have. Only difference is I buy the cans rather than the bottles as the Coke goes flat easily in the bottles. Cheers, Gareth and thank you 👍😉

I've found the Sainsbury's Diet Cola to be near enough and it costs 47p for the 2ltr bottle.

Hi Gaz! Aldi do great bottles of “lookalike” and “taste alike” no added sugar pop, they do their own versions of Lilt and Fanta Orange, Lemon and Mixed Fruits. All 1.5ltr bottles and I think it’s 89p! I can’t tell the difference with the real thing!

Tried both earlier and for % 10 of the price I'm very happy to save so much money watching your clips is saving us loads we may be able to afford the electricity to cook our Christmas turkey. We are looking every time in asda at their bargain prices and so far nothing has disappointed in flavour.

With most of us turning to more shop own
brands the big boys are going to have to cut their inflated prices or go under. And a lot of these items you just cannot tell apart.
