CutiePie, Thank you for posting this song. I've been playing the Native American style flute for a couple of years now. I didn't realize that the N.A.F. and the tin whistle had different fingerings until I tried to play along with you on my N.A.F. middle G. No problem, thanks to you putting the notes under the finger tabs for the key of D I was able to transcribe to N.A.F. finger tabs using the fingering chart that came with one of my flutes. I can now play along with you on my low D or my high, mid, or low G's. The mellower tones of the wood N.A.F. flutes harmonize wonderfully with the tin whistle. Once again, Thank you very much. May you walk in balance.

Wonderful. Thank you! Do you have any Native American songs written out in letter format? I'd love to play one on whistle, but couldn't work out the finger positions and notes :(

CutiePie, For you and others who play the tin whistle that would like to play from Native American flute finger tablature I thought you might like a finger tab chart so you can reverse engineer a N.A.F. song into tin whistle the way I did from your finger tabs for this video to N.A.F.. Sense the key of D seems to be the go to key for tin whistle I'll do one for the N.A.F. in D. X for closed holes, O for open holes, D for half hole. Consider the mouthpiece of the flute to be at the left. The note will be first at the left
      D- X X X X X X
      E- X X X X X D
      F- X X X X X O
      F#- X X X X O X
      G- X X X X O O
      G#-X X X O X O
      A- X X X O O O
      A#-X X O X O O
      B- X X O O O O
      C- X O X O O O
      C#-X O O O O O
      D+-O O X O O O
Extended scale, or over blown notes
      D#- O X X X X X
      E+- O O X X X X
      F+- O O X X X O
Once the finger tabs have been converted as you already know the song can be played in other keys. Be well.

@@glenndent6626 Thanks for taking the trouble to do that. I also play N.A.F. and was wondering about how to convert tablature.

@@allonwne Hau Mithakuye, (hello my relative). I've been playing N.A.F. for a little over 4 years now. I've been transcribing Stephanie's tabs for half that long. Here is a link to a chart I came up with.
      photos.app.goo.gl/mFfVwdPQdp2e4hkG9
Extended scale notes are different for different flutes and may take some adjusting but this should help you on your way to playing Celtic style music on your N.A.F.. I hope this helps.

Very refreshing to here music like this. Being a beginner it is encouraging to me that maybe I can one day play half as good as you. And to have a teacher as beautiful as the sunset on tropical island is a big plus in my book. I'll work on this song after I can stop making the very sharp ear splitting mistakes. Each time I do it I'll start over. Thank you.

A fun little game you can play with yourself when learning a small simple tune like this (when you don't know it), is to just read the tabs without listening to the video, playing the tune how you think it's being played, and then listening to the tutorial to see how close you were.

CutiePie Have you ever tried cetirizine for that? It's actually medicine for motion sickness, but it works for hay fever as well for a lot of people; although, not for me, I need something stronger xD

No, I haven't, but I'll look into it. Thank you!
I used to use a steroid nasal spray, but I have a decongestant at the moment. Antihistamine doesn't touch it at all, which is odd as it's mainly inflammation inside the nose I struggle with :/
I'm sick of it now so I'm looking for alternatives, haha. Tried nasal dilators this week - useless! So it's an air purifier next :D

    • @AsraPie
      @AsraPie 6 лет назад

I feel you on the nose struggles :/ Been using quite a lot of sollutions as well.
Today my doctor prescribed me both mizolastine (my try on antihistamine xD) and a fluticasone nose spray from Avamys, which I will start using from tomorrow on. If these don't work, I might consider having my nose removed entirely, haha!
Best of luck with surviving the season! :D

Also my main love of music is rock and metal.Theres one track I would like to play on a whistle and that is Nothing Else Matters by Metallica but still cant find tabs ...only guitar tabs .can you help me >.Thank you Brandon ...Im from Wales too .

Hi Brandon, have you tried Greensleeves? And some of the game music (I have a game music playlist)? That often has a medieval feel to it :) As for metal, I've only really covered Eluveitie at the moment, though I have a cover of Zombie by the Cranberries coming up ;) If you're into Irish Rock bands...send me some links to songs you like though and I'll add them to my todo list :)

Hello from Spain!! I like your videos very much. But I have a problem (Houston¿?¿ jeje) Why don´t you use a metronome or any backingtrack¿? Sometines is difficult playing with you without a rhymth. Sorry for my english.

    • @CutiepieTinWhistle
      @CutiepieTinWhistle  6 лет назад

_Leo_ RoMi I don't have access to background music for most tunes, and a metronome is fine, but the ticking in the background spoils the sound of the video a bit. You can use the tabs once you have an idea of how the song should sound, and use a metronome to play the music yourself 😊
