  • Today we are going to talk about our Heavy Duty power wheelchair, the P301 Gemini. The P301 is a powerbase rear wheel drive wheelchair. Rear wheel drive meaning the chair consists of two sets of wheels, 14" foam filled drive tires and 9" foam filled casters.
The P301 features a unique suspension system with a 450 lb weight capacity. It also features an aluminum footplate with flip-up height and angle adjustability providing various comfort positions. A swing back mount comes standard with the unit along with a Dynamic Shark joystick allowing the user to enter or exit the chair with ease. A programmable controller provides a wide range of selections to suit the needs and demands of different users.
Height and width adjustable arms and 22" wide reclining and swivel capable captain's seat with an adjustable head and backrest allow the user to adjust the unit to their comfort needs. The unit is powered by two 12 volt 22NF batteries and includes a 5 amp off board charger. Charging the unit is as simple as plugging the charger into the joystick and flipping the switch. A fully charged unit has a range of up to 20 miles depending on terrain.
Next, with the help of my assistant, I would like to demonstrate how to remove the captain's seat and batteries. The P301 weighs 242 lbs with the batteries and 165 lbs without the batteries.
Now let's see some of the driving features of the P301. The dual DC 24V motors enhance efficiency, torque, range and overall performance. The unit has a max speed of 5 miles per hour and features a 21" turning radius. A 12° gradient and 4" ground clearance makes driving up and down ramps worry free. The P301 features several optional accessories such as elevating leg rests, oxygen tank holders, cane and crutch holders, walker holders, a foldable rear basket, a canopy and a power seat lift.
That's all I have for today. For more information on the P301 Gemini or any of our other fantastic mobility and respiratory products, please visit our website at www.meritshealth.com. Until next time, I'm Dwight from Merits Health Products. Have a great day.

This is amazing ! My uncle told me not to use it so he changed the gears, I didn't know how to change them so I looked up a manual or a how to guide. Clearly was happy to be able to know how to finally use those things

How to take the seat off for battery replacement? You say lift the lever on the right, and just lift the seat straight up. Is the lever the same one that releases for turning? There is no other lever, but that lever doesn’t release for lifting.

I recently acquired the same model and the batteries are being drained while it is off. Any ideas short of a battery cut-off?

I can not off my chair. I can ON with simply pushing the switch but I can not off. Does it exist a combination to do that?

P-120 is my favorite. I hate rear-wheel-drive chairs, they can't move inside tight spaces. P-120 can.

Bad product! Medicare didn't give me a choice. I have a 450 lbs 6 wheel version. The batteries didn't even last a year and replacing them was 340 dollars. Also one of the caster wheels just fell apart loosing a large chunk so now it rolls with a bump. The chair didn't come with a owners manuel and I couldn't find one on line so I just had to figure out how to replace those shitty batteries myself. 3,600 dollars for this piece of crap!
