Delighted to see this video! I was on MSC Virtuosa for New Year 2 years ago, and we were cruising up to Hamburg as we hit the New Year - it was absolutely AMAZING to experience, and one that I'll 1000% want to do again! It's so funny how different the experience is when you do it with P&O - a really nice idea for them to do the little firework sprinklers on the outside deck - I haven't seen that before!
Having visited Hamburg in 2022, I enjoyed seeing familiar spots. You covered a lot of ground on foot! (We took the U-Bahn more than I think you did.) Nice to see St. Michael's again. We missed the crypt - will have to go there when we are back in Hamburg next year. (We also visited three of the four other "principal" Lutheran churches in Hamburg, and recommend all of them, though I would say St. Michael's is the grandest.) The club noise in your cabin would be an absolute deal-breaker for us. When you do your end-of-voyage summary, maybe you can tell us if the day rehearsals and late night performances were a frequent occurrence, or a rare, and avoidable, thing. You always do a nice job- keep it up!
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to tell us about your Hamburg experiences. We will try to visit some of the other churches next time. 😀
Hamburg at new year is amazing! The fireworks were incredible when I saw in 2020 there (full of optimism for a great year) on Ventura! Was planning on walking the Elbe tunnel in Feb but Iona got diverted , just means I need to go back again!
Wow you two scrub up well, so smart in evening dress! For a festive meal dinner looks underwhelming, maybe the later sitting was better. I like hamburg , the elb philharmonie is very beautiful. I would love to have your energy packing so much into every day. Great video, thank you for sharing.
Great vlog again, we must have had your table for 2 as we hadn't requested one but were given one, saw us again on the deck watching the fireworks, probably helped to find us as my husband had a bright blue jacket.
@TomandDomTravel we were going to go to Masquerades after the fireworks but it was heaving and just couldn't face it, shame it would have been a great finish.
@17:20. Sisters on the Seas looked quite elegant NYE at the venue. And the 2023 award for ‘Squirreling Away A Meal for Another Time’ goes to….. Tom & Dom Travel 🙏. Since ‘someone’ is not a Disney fan, is there an ability to take in a super warm climate cruise in 2024 (as you have navigated Europe multiple times)? Congrats as you have survived the Aurora ‘SeeView’ cabin event.
Wow you two make us laugh all that food on one evening, I love that Dom went to get food from the late night buffet for later how you can eat at four in the morning we would just collapse into bed. We are on a cruise to Hamburg in October will be trying that bar. We are on Queen Anne for new years eve and will be in Madeira they are meant to have a good firework display hoping it will be a bit warmer.
The Elbe tunnel has been renovated a decade or so ago. I was there at the time, and seeing it now makes me want to go again. What a shame that your room was such a disappointment. You need another one after this one.
Hey guys. Loved your vlogs. We are sailing to canada on the Aurora in September and was hoping you could tell me what films they are showing on the cinema?
Given your issues with your cabin, do you think you will continue to book saver fares? I stopped doing that after 1 bad experience. I know that there is a cost implication, but a poor cabin can really ruin your whole holiday and now that ships are sailing full, there is little you can about it once on board.
We will certainly think about it especially at busy periods and look at options including costs but we had already booked a saver fare for our Iona cruise and that worked out ok.
@@TomandDomTravel So my bad experience was on a Christmas/NY cruise, and yours has been on a NY cruise, so perhaps the lesson is that “Event” cruises have additional jeopardy on a Saver Fare. Like yourselves, I’d not had a problem before that.
You guys say you "don't like to moan and just like to get on with things" but I think you've got a bit lost in yourselves as you've gone on! Yes there were things wrong and I can see how they would affect your holiday, but wow, I feel like you did nothing but find fault with absolutely every little thing you could! I'm not saying this to be nasty, I'm saying it to help you because being pesimistic is not a good way to go about life!!! Find the good ❤
Thank you for watching. We appreciate your support and feedback. Aurora itself is a beautiful ship and we had a good time. In this vlog series our cabin and the poor level of communication did have an impact on the cruise so it’s important we are truthful in our vlogs. Normal service resumes on subsequent cruises though.
How fabulous! What a pleasant way to spend a New Years!
Thank you! A great experience

Thanks. The fireworks in Hamburg were fantastic and absolutely worth seeing. Did you not have fireworks on Diadema?
Glad to see you found our pub LOL! Thanks for showing us around the venues on Aurora as we are onboard next month!
Thanks for watching! Not sure how many of those beers we could handle though. The venues are lovely. You will have a great time
@TomandDomTravel Think Paul had 3 and it was entertaining getting him back to the ship......
@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel Dom would spend more time in the toilet after 3 🤣

Absolutely! Always a good excuse to plan another trip. Thanks for watching
Thank you for being our tour guides! We’ll have to return the favour one day 😅 this brings back great memories from a fun night!
No problem. Already looking forward to it.

Thank you that’s very kind of you to say. We certainly do keep busy. Think we need to in order to work off some of those meals
Great vlog again, we must have had your table for 2 as we hadn't requested one but were given one, saw us again on the deck watching the fireworks, probably helped to find us as my husband had a bright blue jacket.
Thanks for watching again. How strange not sure how they allocated the tables then. Were you in Masquerade afterwards?
@TomandDomTravel we went to champions but couldn't get a seat so went to Carmen's, then up.on deck for the fireworks
@TomandDomTravel we were going to go to Masquerades after the fireworks but it was heaving and just couldn't face it, shame it would have been a great finish.
@user-vx2oq2oh1u yes it was very busy with people queuing to get in. Think we were lucky to get a seat when we did

Thank you again for watching. Dom says it’s his hangover cure. We absolutely need to do a warm cruise. We think it’s about time we get some sunshine.
Amazing new years video🎉
🙌🙌🙌 thank you
The rack of lamb looked delicious!
It absolutely was! Could eat that again. Will have to wait for the next cruise though

Thanks for watching. Dom would say it’s to help prevent the hangover 🤕🤣. Madeira fireworks sound amazing! Is Hamburg your next cruise?
@@TomandDomTravel Our next cruise is to the Med on Sky Princess in August we are going to Hamburg on Q Mary 2 in October.

Thanks for watching. There did seem to be some work still going on but it looks great.
Hey guys. Loved your vlogs. We are sailing to canada on the Aurora in September and was hoping you could tell me what films they are showing on the cinema?
Thank you. They show relatively recent films along with a few classics. They change often so not sure what they will be showing in September
Thankyou for replying. As long as they show some recent ones, then we'll be happy. 😊

Huh? There were lots of positives and its nice to know the truth and not sugarcoat everything.
@@barbarapearce9738 I suppose we have a different idea of the word "positive" then!
