- We arrived in Amsterdam at approximately 7 am on New year's eve. we awoke to rain and strong winds . After breakfast and letting the rain subside we ventured in to the city . This was our first visit to this part of the world .
We decided to take a cruise on the canals , as if we hadn't seen enough water . it was a very enjoyable way to spend 50 minutes , with a very knowledgeable and amusing Skipper. After lunch we explored more of the city before returning to the Ship.
New year's eve began with a couple of drinks in one of the bars before heading for the main dining room for what turned out to be a lovely meal .
We then headed for the main atrium for the Silent Disco that turned out to be a lot of fun .
As midnight approached we headed for the top deck to see in the New Year accompanied by torrential rain and fireworks over the city. Then on to the Havana lounge for a bit more dancing , it was a great night.
Pearl knows how to bust a move! 💃🏻

Hi Susan , we had a great time on New Year’s Eve. Even though it was chucking it down .Made a nice change to do a new year cruise , rather than sit at home watching the tellly . I bet you’re well excited about your upcoming cruise, where are you going ?
We are just looking at the moment, I’ll be a pensioner next week so got to see how much we can afford once our money is sorted, I want to do the Caribbean one that you and pearl did, but my husband wants the med one, so that’s why I’m watching all the blogs on you tube and that’s how I found you and pearl. Also I don’t think you mentioned the drinks package it seems very expensive in my eyes not worth it. What do you think ?

@user-cs9bl7vu8u Hi Susan , hope you find something suitable. We wouldn’t get the drinks package on P&O . It’s a bit restrictive some drinks you can have some you can’t . Plus you normally get on board spending money when you book that you use onboard. We do get the package if we go on Princess cruises.
Another fab vid! it was nice to see everyone dressed for the evening. Loved the 'trotter' comment, made me chuckle. I can now say that I got to see the new year in vicariously through you both, as I was in bed by 10pm. thanks for the shout out, was kind of you to think of me on new years eve! I never thought of going on a cruise for New year! Awesome idea!! New Year has become a bit naff now given how much it costs! love this idea!
That was our thoughts as well, we used to either go to somewhere local and put up with the inflated prices or stay at home and be in bed straight after midnight. Gone are the days when we would go to London, now it’s tickets only . So this cruise was a good idea , a few hiccups but it was certainly something different and we would do it again. 👋
Loving Pearls Pink jumper, can Jamie borrow it? 🤣😂 - Look at that rain! Glad it cleared for you. That cheese toastie looked very nice and who doesn't love a wine for dessert. You both looked great on NYE!

Looks like you had a fantastic New Year despite the rain. Ventura is my favourite P & O ship it always feels so welcoming and homely and is just the right size. Loved Pearl's Pink leopard skin top. Thanks for all your informative vlogs.

Hi Rene , we had a great time thank you , and yes it certainly did rain a lot on New Year’s Eve . Pearl did look beautiful in her dress I must admit.Such a shame about your Granddaughters cruise and catching Covid. Hope she has recovered and it hasn’t put her off trying another cruise. Used to love P and O I wouldn't give them the time of day now, any company that sack staff like they did should never be given air space disgusting

They have not sacked any staff that was P&O Ferry’s, totally different company.

Carnival own P&O cruises, P&O ferries are owned by a UAE based company and they were the ones who sacked all their crews. This has been well publicised and I am surprised anyone still gets mixed up.
