- Amsterdam is one of those cities that you see in photos and always say you want to visit! Well, we had the opportunity and we took it! Our sailing on Norwegian Prima started in Iceland and ended in Amsterdam. It was really cool to watch as the ship went through the locks to enter the Amstel River and sail into the city.
We have a day in the city before we leave so we will see what we can do... First up is we have to really see the canals that run through the city. We walk along them until we find where we can hop on one of the canal tours. This was perfect for us as we needed a day just to relax... But for dinner, we wanted to go to a recommended spot... Foodhallen! As in one location, we can try many different foods from around the world. We just love these food markets!

I live half an hour from London Central but have been to The Dam more times than Central, it’s got amazing museums, Dam Square, Red Light district, the floating Cat house(if you love cats go there!) and of course the Bull Dog coffee shops
I'm flying into Amsterdam next month. We're staying three days in Rotterdam before our cruise, and we'll be doing a day in Amsterdam. Thank you very much for this.
This brings back memories!! I lived and worked in the Netherlands for a few months when I was young. I biked everywhere including to work everyday. Amsterdam is such an amazing city. I loved the canal tour too and Anne Frank house is very interesting (yet very sad) to visit. Your vlog makes me want to go back!

Do not rent a car. You will never find place to park. If you are lucky to find one. It will cost, however, it is hard to know how.

Been watching your videos for a while now. Just got off the mardi gras cozumel in September. So surreal to suddenly watch you guys arrive in Amsterdam. Welcome, and hope you had a wonderful time in our country. Even for us Dutch people, Amsterdam is a different place. Most people don't even speak Dutch, but English. It's more international than more land inwards (I live east close to the German border). Feel I should have known about the hooks on the buildings, but I didn't 😅

It is so amazing seeing you guys in the Netherlands and I'm glad you liked it, though there are nicer places to go than Amsterdam but it is the most famous and the capital of the Netherlands. Thanks for putting it on the map so to speak. Love the new hair style by the way, keep up the great video's it inspires a lot of people including me and my wife.
When in the Netherlands, dont get Heineken.... please get some real dutch beer like Hertog Jan. :) just a tip for next time. Ps: Duvel means Devil, its a hell of a beer ;)

I really enjoyed Amsterdam and the canal tour was a fun way to see the city. Next time try a automat place called febo, the food is ready in heated tray like things and you put your money in and pull the food out so fun.
Just left Amsterdam today. Had a great visit but take a 15 minute train ride to Haarlem for an “older feel”. Breweries, beautiful church, Corrie tenBoom house. Very easy trip , walkable and peaceful k

Sunday was very rainy as we toured! Train was great as we had to leave from Rotterdam instead of Amsterdam! Beware bikes! Almost got run down dragging suitcase to station. Actually marijuana isNOT LEGAL but they don't enforce!

When we were in Amsterdam we did the red light district where I almost got robbed ( don't wander away from the group) the Heineken Brewery Tour, canal boat and a the jewelry district (don't believe the crap about the vig tax. Good time.

We just got home Friday from Amsterdam. We had the delicious huge pork and veal meatball on a bed of mashed potatoes. They have carrots in the mashed potatoes. First salad with Dutch cheese and dessert was little pancakes with powdered sugar. Really enjoyed it but all the bicycles stressed me out!! God bless.

Great video! bought back memories of my military time (RAF) spent lots of time in AMS (Heineken brewery) lol - found some info on the Duvel Ber: Duvel is a 100% pure and natural beer, with no additives or preservatives. And you can taste the difference immediately. Its surprisingly high alcohol content (8.5%), glad you enjoyed it ...cheers and keep up the great work!

As a person who lives in Amsterdam (in a canal house in the Jordaan-- which, btw, are NOT all businesses -- and no, I am not the mayor), it is unfortunate to see so much inaccurate information. It is crazy, and typical American tourist behavior to be in Dam Square, and note the god-awful wax museum, but not even have the awareness that the "old building" you pointed out was the palace where the King and his family live. The only marijuana you smell in the city is in the red light district, which is solely there for tourists -- the smell is FAR less than anywhere in Los Angeles, btw. It's a shame you didn't visit or highlight some of the world-class museums in the city as well.
We were going on the information provided in our tour. And we did smell pot, and yes we smell it in legal areas of the US too. We want to come back and explore more.

That Duvel beer is a good choice and very tasty. You should try the Vedett extra white beer from the same brewery, you can taste the same base notes but it’s a wheat beer and nice for summer

Amsterdam is an amazing city, there is actually estimated 800k bikes in the city v 200k cars!
The culture in Amsterdam is so vivid and the people are great, lots to see if you venture out of the centre and go further out, even out to the tulip fields when in season. Its definitely a city that is so much more than the red light district and the bud. Easily one of my favourite cities in Europe. 👌

The building you didnt know what is is, is het paleis op de Dam, built in the golden century as townhall. Now used by the royal to governmental issues.
By the way:we love bitterballen! Each time we are in the Netherlands we take a lot of them home and enjoy!
We spent 4 or 5 extra days in Amsterdam because I tested positive for covid in May. Great place! I have perfected my bitterballen recipe though!

We cruised to Amsterdam a few years ago and we really loved it too.
The canal boat tour looked like a lot of fun. I love to learn about the buildings whenever we visit anywhere.
