I agree with that. Dale Jr's career momentum took a big hit for a while after this race. Only in 2014 and 2015 did he perform like he did in his prime (2000-2004).
Watching Jr during this sort of 2009-2010 or 2011 period is just plain depressing. He's just always so out of it. I'm really glad to see he's got some pep in his step again.
whenever Kyle wrecks someone "its just good hard racin and that stuff happens" but when someone wrecks him he goes to whining and crying like a three year old
I love it how people say Kyle turned right to finish the job but if he didnt do that then they both would of spun. He was just saving himself from wrecking at the end of the race
So you're the type of guy that would spin yourself out just so you didn't want to make something look intentional. If you accidentally hit someone like that, always turn your wheels to the right so that you don't spin yourself out.
@pikahudude387 And that's why Kyle Busch is fourth in points (just 16 behind Edwards) and Dale Jr is one inevitable bad finish away from falling out of the chase, right? Plus, it also explains Kyle Busch's multiple wins this year and last year and Dale Jr not winning under green since 2006? (roughly 200 races...)
Lol what ive noticed about Jr. is he NEVER blames anyone but himself, at least everytime i see him getting wrecked he never blames anyone but himself and never blows up on camera. Kyle Busch is a whole nother story...
Totaly agree!! They just don't want to look at that. There is ALOT of other drivers that don't have the on track success that Jr has yet I don't hear the crap about them. I should also mention that could sombody tell me the last time a four car team had ALL four cars running up front? I'll tell ya, Roush, all five in the chase. Only once in history. Keep in mind the 88 team is the old 25. How did that team run in the past??
keep at it Kyle!! all these jr fans would love if they drove like Rowdy. and when he does wreck someone its nothing but cheers for JR. you people make no sense lol. More talent then JR has and if you think otherwise you are a homer or a hater
The blame was 50/50, they just didn't give each other enough room. Kyle was committed to the inside line, you could see that, he was committed when they came off turn two and down the back straight. Dale knew he was there and could have turned up the race track a little bit but at the same time Kyle could have backed out the throttle a tad and waited a bit longer, he had the faster car, if he didn't he would not have been up the inside and all over Dale. It a racing incident and 50/50 blame
if you see the video carefully. you can see they two got loose, kyle bush just turned his car to the left to save it,but jr was there so he got wreck. i'm sorry for him,i know he could win that race
Kyle needs a strong dose of Dale Sr. Jr isn’t generally vindictive, but Sr woulda opened up a can of whupass and taught Kyle a thing or two about aggressive driving. I am amazed Kyle made it outta the track without security after that. Junior nation is an unforgiving bunch!
Kyle is the most exciting driver for racing fans, since the passing of Dale Sr.,those who hate Kyle today will be his biggest fans tomorrow. Dale Jr. fans are tired of beating a dead horse and will soon join KYLE NATION!Jr. sold out his fans when he teamed up with JEFF GORDON!
Even though Denny led the most laps, it was not classy to stop on the race track when he had time to make it to the pits with 15 to go. Dale Jr had that race won if it were not for that. Just ridiculous. Glad he got held 2 laps.
He didn't get loose until after he turned up into him. Watch the video. I have driven many race cars and know what one loose looks like from the outside. The car doesn't get sideways until after he got into him. Its natural to drift up a little bit getting into a corner. But when you know some body is on the outside of you, you give them room. What is Kyle's excuse every other time he spins someone out. Watch the look on his face when he talks during the press conference. He knows what he did.
Cale Yarborough was an aggressive driver in his heyday. He won multiple championships. Kyle Busch didn't intend to spin out Dale Jr. He got loose when he wrecked Junior. Kyle just drives aggressive, like Cale used to. Kyle, like Cale, may win several NASCAR titles. But it's too bad Junior was wrecked last night. He could have easily won. It was also too bad Denny Hamlin had a flat tire in the closing laps. Denny had the dominant car.
@Scourgemaster193 Ironic thing is, Kyle Busch did exactly as Dale Sr would have done. Jr came down to block, and Kyle pushed back. Jr lost that battle. Love him or hate him, Kyle's attitude and driving style are almost identical to that of Dale Sr and Darrel Waltrip in the 70s and 80s.
As a Jr. fan this flat-out pissed me off. But after watching it probably 30 times (no joke!), it comes down to aggressive driving. I am NOT defending Kyle on this, but I think they could've BOTH given a little. Kyle apparently "loose" but Jr. cut down knowing that Kyle was there. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS!! I feel for Jr., but Kyle lost his opportunity to win, too. It was a little bit of dirty racing on both their parts...let's see what's gonna happen, if anyone will "retaliate" this weekend...
Sorry that people have the most outrageous expectations for him because of his family name. His daddy was the greatest to ever drive a racecar in Nascar history, (besides Richard Petty of course) People expect him to be just as good as his dad and people say that he sucks even though he has made the chase all but one of the years that the chase has been around.
last night was a sad race for dennny and junior, both should have finished in the top 3 but thanks to a flat tire and kyle busch, both ended up outside the top ten. Kyle Busch just wants more fans to boo him I guess.
That shot of kyle "pushing" up If kyle needed to correct himself the track turns to the left... the air pushes DOWN the laws of physics say turn towards the bottom not the top
@KYLE18RULES we all saw him turn right so stuff it. junior is the man. any other junior fans caring to back me up here? this guy must love kyle or something.
I have personally seen 2 interviews after a crash that was very similar to to this one, it's not that I'm just pickin on the guy, I can't remember where or who was involved, but Kyle got loose and put someone in the wall. It was an accident, he didn't mean to. And he basically said it was unfortunate. But every time someone else gets loose, he talks like they don't know how to drive and its all their fault. I'm sure that he would be very upset getting put out of the race, but accidents happen.
Easy buddy, I'm a stewart fan, and if you like the Earnhardts as much as i do, you would relize that Earnhardt Sr. and Stewart have very similar driving personalities, they both would fight and bump others to get ahead in a race I do like Jr., and i love Sr. but next time you say you hate the way Stewart drives, just look at some old Earnhardt vids, he races the same way. Again, when Sr. raced I loved him and his personality, the same way I like Stewart's. P.S. rubbins' racin'!
@NascarMicci That made no sense. I meant to say that if Kyle got spun it would've just been racing and not Jr.'s fault. I don't know why I said that before. Weird.
@MrBurney12 Kyle also has 3 times more CUP wins than Dale Sr did at this point in his career. In seven years Dale Sr had seven CUP wins, and in the seven years Kyle Busch has been cup racing, he's had 23....
dj had a lot to live up too man, his father gave his life for this sport, and dj stepped it up like any good son would have. he's owned in every car he's stepped in, or got wrecked trying. you can see kyle turning into him on the corner, Period.
Exactly, how is that he's stopped before the caution comes out then he somehow gets going again and makes pit road after the caution comes out. Complete crap, that race was over Jr. had it won.
Well Daywalker8204 if you knew about race cars, you'd know kyle was going about 105 miles per hour in the inside lane, going that fast in the inside will make ur care wiggle. If you watch it again ull see both kyle and Jr carried the same speed going into the turn which isn't normal. Outside lane and inside lane should carry diff speeds. Outside is most likely to get a momentum off the turn but Kyle drove a bit too hard into the turn. Plus u can't prove that he meant to do wat he did so LOL!
Jr. himself doesn't make excuses for when things don't go his way. Kyle makes a damn habbit of blaming everyone like when he got side drafted in michigan and was mad because johny sauter didn't just lay down and give it to him. I wish dale sr. would have raced against kyle. If ol rowdy bumped earnhardt back in the day sr. would have wrecked him so hard he would never get in a race car again.
Dale Sr. also had a pretty similar post-race personality aswell,he would push reporters and get in little scuffs. You should check out some old vids with him wrecking, and see the similarities. They really aren't that different, a little bit though. The main diff is probably the generation of drivers now. They all have somthing to bitch about. Thats why I lost alot of interest in racing since Dale Sr. died.
@Slotten68 Dosent matter if hes been close to a win... im a big JR FAN cause he race because he love it not only for the money.. and he is not crying everytime the race isnt going like he want it to like Kyle Busch.
@KodyT1989 1.) I said under green. The 2008 'win' was under yellow. 2.) He didn't have enough gas to finish if the race stayed green, so if the caution DIDN'T come out, he would have lost, plain and simple. Which also means if the current green-white-checkered rules were in effect, he ALSO would have lost. Therefore, it was more a win just given to him than a bonafied earned win.
@Slotten68 The tough thing for you is that online degrees in home security or dietary aides don't really mean much. At least you still got that corporate memorized line of "Would you like pies or fries?" working for you.
Youre a Kyle fan? Please tell me how its like to always sit at the bottom of the Chase leaderboard while watching better drivers put points on the board? :)
scottf251- you need a new pair of glasses? The 88 didn't cut across anything. He held his line and left plenty of room. The contact happened a lane and a half up from the apron. That was totally Kyle's fault.
the very fact that people still complain about this bothers me. this accident was almost 3 years ago. i dont care who you root for, get over it. and thers no reason to "hate" dale jr. why not spend your time cheering for your favorite driver rather than bitching about another. trust me, you will find yourself in a lot less of those foolish dead end arguments that fill up the comment boards with never ending garbage.
Anybody who is hating on jr. should lay off cuz i remember dale sr. having a slump around 1996 and the last 10 years of richard petty's career was a slump, and last time i checked jeff gordon hasn't been winning much lately either or jamie mcmurray or juan montoya and the list goes on. Even Jimmie 5 time because of the chase Johnson will have himself a slump before he retires. And while i'm at it,Kyle Busch will never be a cup champion because he is too hot headed to keep from wrecking himself
Jr. wasnt crying, he was mature about the whole thing, he could have ripped Kyle for wrecking him, and god knows he deserves it, instead he gave Kyle the benefit of the doubt, jr. didnt cheap shot him or go after him, he handled it like an adult. so you can bad mouth Junior's driving all you want, but hes twice the man kyle busch is.
Ok he will take those words to the bank while Jr. sets behind him in points. How much does being Mr. Nice guy and losing the cup pay? Besides, do some research on Kyle you'll find out he's a great guy, and going to make a great champ. He donated 500,000 dollars to charity last year.
The way Kyles car goes up the track after Jr's car goes sideways, it looks intentional. Plain and simple. Yeah, Kyles car did get a little loose for second but, it still looked intentional to me.
You could almost excuse the wreck (though i wouldn't). But to tell JR it was "not all about him" was what put me over the limit. I remember hating Kurt too but eventually he stopped acting like an idiot. Kyles talented, don't get me wrong, but he simply has no class.
First of all...I've never seen Kyle cry. Second...He tells it like it is, and that's all you get from him. He doesn't dwell on mishaps. He says his piece and moves on. and...there's no need to act all high and mighty and try to sound smarter than everyone else. It's obvious you can't take your own advice and move on because your still commenting about this 2 YEARS after it had already happened. lol
This was the moment that I, too started hating KB. That punk azz CLEARLY turned right and spun Jr out!!!! I will never forgive him for that. I am a racer, and we have very long memories. KB will get his. He needs to see the Dr. that Tony Stewart was treated by. Worked wonders for Tony, and now I love him!!
I don't really care for either one of these guys, but Kyle got loose under Jr. and he (Dale Jr.) was there. Late in the race, going for the lead. To all Jr. fans the are still calling for Kyle's head over this, GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!! IT WASN'T KYLE'S FAULT!!!!!!!! IT WAS A RACIN' DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!
like you wouldnt be frustrated or dissapointed to hell if you were only a few laps away from winning or atleast a top 5 finish, and then get taken out.
I'm far from a Junior fan, but he had a great attitude about this whole situation. Classy guy.
i think this race had major impact on the rest of junior's career going forward.
I agree with that. Dale Jr's career momentum took a big hit for a while after this race. Only in 2014 and 2015 did he perform like he did in his prime (2000-2004).
@@DavidJameson892012 was also on par with that era until the concussions. 2011 and 2013 were also pretty good

dale jr is the class of the field.JR win or loose you the man
whenever Kyle wrecks someone "its just good hard racin and that stuff happens" but when someone wrecks him he goes to whining and crying like a three year old
I love it how people say Kyle turned right to finish the job but if he didnt do that then they both would of spun. He was just saving himself from wrecking at the end of the race
all I can say is that Dale Jr. is his father's son.........so he was sticking to his line.
That made no sense
At least Kyle apologized
Still don't like him
+Steven Simpkins in Sprint Cup only, yes.
Kyle never apologizes for shit
Thats the only driver Kyle apologized to.
One is a champion and the other is an Earnhardt.
You can see the wheel turn right when he spins him
+Hans Wentz He was loose..
+iBeast uBad suuuuuuuuure
+Thomas Brigman He intentionally turned him look at the wheels turn right
So you're the type of guy that would spin yourself out just so you didn't want to make something look intentional.
If you accidentally hit someone like that, always turn your wheels to the right so that you don't spin yourself out.
Probably so kyle didn't spin out himself

Jr saw the replay and renewed his mind and him and Kyle were back to being buds....
"He's gonna need extra security from all of us." Ooooo
KYLE BUSCH AND DALE EARNHARDT JR. ARE AWESOME RACERS
i dont watch nascar often but whenever i do kyle busch is doin real well... doesnt take an expert to realize kyle busch has talent

And Kyle, it's not always about you
never said busch was any better.
I just watched this interview (Dale Jr. only) in slow motion and then watching this it seems like they're talking to fast LOL
You people do realize that when a car gets loose you have to turn right to save it, correct?
I like both Jr and Kyle but it was a racing deal.
like you wouldnt be frustrated or dissapointed to hell if you were only a few laps away from winning or atleast a top 5 finish, and then get taken out.
