Martin, looking through your sketchbook was so much fun. Sometimes when I don't know what I want to do, I pull out my old books and see how my work has changed, sometimes for the better...some not😮
The *colour artwork* / *coloured sketches are brilliant* . The set of window illustrations are Fab.... The sketches of the ships - well done. Great video.
I purchased this sketchbook and began a PAD [page a day] until it is filled with character studies…my personal weakness. Unlike you, I started at the back and am working forward in hopes of improvement ; ] Thx!
Fantastic sketchbook toyrm my favourite wrre the cranes and the windows. Wonderful exlerimenting! Just subscribed tonyourbchannel..i want tonsee more of your work!
Indeed it’s very thin paper but usable for watercolour sketches (with its limitations) on amazon if you search “craft sketchbook” by cooleather, comes in pack of two
Hi, I only recommend indian ink specific made for using in fountain pens e.g. „sketch ink“ by rohrer und klingner, or „carbonink“ by platinum (both on amazon)
Hallo Martin ! Es wäre auch mal cool zu sehen, wie du diese ganzen Portraits gemacht hast. Falls du mal ein neues Video drehen möchtest :) LG aus Salzburg Lukas
Thank you for sharing this sketchbook. One, I love your “dirty” sketches ❤❤❤ Two, I ordered this sketchbook after I saw your other video. I like that it’s lightweight and my inks and paints don’t bleed through. It can take multiple layers of water, though I didn’t test its limit because I found that it serves my purpose well. Also, the paper has enough tooth for colored pencils. It will be my everyday sketchbook for 2024 (trying to finish up older sketchbooks right now). The size is perfect but I might just stock up on different sizes… just in case….. coz I always have a fear of favorite supplies disappearing!
@@MartinLachmairArt I love seeing sketchbooks of all sorts! This one is especially nice, it looks like it has very soft paper. The one I’m working through right now is really heavy duty paper- and I’ve just been painting over pages continuously until I’m happy with them XD it’s actually the first time I’ve dabbled with painting within a sketchbook and I really really like it 💙
I love it!
Perfect sense of form, yet so free
You make such great stuff. That's why I like following you. Keep up the great artwork!

So great to reflect back on the past as one looks to the future. Without this there can be no direction forward

Hi Martin, a question and by your experience, could i refill brush pen with indian ink or it could damage pen?

That’s great to read! I wish you a wonderful time and great ideas with you new sketchbook! 🖋️👍
For once a real sketchbook and not a pretty pretty art book.
Hmm- are sketchbooks with mostly completed illustrations no longer counting as sketchbooks? :0
Thats the point (in my case)
Oh of course they are, I was only talking about my point of view. It’s up to the artist how to handle this 👍
