I am fortunate to live less than an hour away from the house on the rock. I’ve only lived in Wisconsin since 2019 but I have been to the The house on the rock 7 times. Every time a new person visits me I always make it a point to bring them there. Each visit I always see something that a missed the times before. It seems to get more and more unhinged the further into the labyrinth you go. Feels like a descent into madness by the time you reach the third section. A truly surreal experience.
I'm a bit further South, in the land of corruption. I love going there as often as I can. Unfortunately, I usually have to drive past it because I'm working, or I'd visit even more often.
Saw Fire at House on the Rock and about had a heart attack, glad it was under control - phew. This is my all-time favorite roadside attraction in the USA, it’s like walking into a bizarre dream world.
I completely agree! I saw fire in the title and panicked a little. Glad it wasn't massively harmed.... It would be a great loss for this awesome attraction to go away.
No way! You posted this video on the same day I went to visit House on the Rock for myself with a group of friends! My friend’s boyfriend proposed to her in front of the carousel yesterday. ☺️ Congrats on 500K!! 🎉
I never grow tired of watching you tour this place. It's amazing every single time. I've only been to the Dells once in my life and had no idea this place existed. If I ever find myself back there again I have to go and see this.
Absolutely one of the greatest roadside attractions of all time. More specifcally, the Organ Room might be my favorite room of all time. I need to get back there as soon as possible.
Jacob, thank you. I’ve been here several times. The first time was many years ago when my family and I were coming back from a camping vacation when I was a very young. It was free, and the only thing there was the original house. You could walk through at your own pace. They had Martin Denny music that was playing as you walked through “Quit Village Album”. It was so amazing. I’ve watched this place grow through the years, but I’ll never forget that first time.
ive been here 3 times so far. best time with my grandparents, i miss my grandma so much. one of my favourite places to go. plus its relatively close since im in Illinois. one of the best memories i have.
My wife and I spent 5 hours walking through The House On The Rock, and we still feel like we didn't get to see everything. I'm amazed that you were able to cram so much within an hour video. This place is awesome and amazing.
I enjoyed every minute of this episode! The house on the rock is so big and involved that you could probably make a two or three hour video, and I would watch the whole thing.
Out of all the places you have gone, this destination for me is the best. I remember the first time you filmed here, and I literally had dreams about it. I was transcended and mesmerized by absolutely everything. The way you carefully went through every part with your quiet narration is one of the things that made me come to appreciate this channel!! I'm so glad you made it back here!!
I'm from the south so I have never been to house on the rocks, didn't know nothing about it until I saw it on Jacob video few years ago. Looks something lol
My husband and I love the House on the Rock. I've been there three times myself. Thank you so much for this video. This brought back so many memories. 💝
I agree with you, that this is one of the best attractions! And the emotions that come with it. The first time was 50 years ago and this place still amazes me. Thank you Jacob and Jen for a wonderful video! 💕
I always understood that dalmatians were originally used because they were great with the horses that pulled the firepump carts, often leading the way and calming the horses. I've had several dalmatians and none of them were deaf. Glad Jen got to see House on the Rock! It's totally amazing and at the top of my favorites list. Thanks for another wonderful adventure!
Wow, what a helluva house! And it’s a 5-6 hour tour?! Glad to see a lot of ramps, so we could get around easier, then if it were all stairs. I LOVE the self playing instruments, I’d sit there all day! Thank you Jacob and Jenny!!❤😊
Hello Carpetbagger and Jenn, The House on the Rock is a massive display of creativity, musicianship and engineering. Thank you for your excellent camera work and narration.
yeah, i have heard a lot about this place, but never knew what it was until now. thanks a lot for giving a full tour! truly one of the most unique roadside attractions i ever seen. :)
The video you did on this attraction two years ago is the how I discovered your channel and why I'm a subscriber 😊 this place is magical. I'm glad the fire didn't destroy all of it.
Overwhelming!! One could feel like The Phantom of the Opera vibes with all the depth of red and cavern like atmosphere. The fire may have been electrical, therefore they were able to catch in in time. Thank you for sharing Jacob and Jen....it was magical~
I was a security guard at the house in 1981 and 82 I always questioned the " growth of all those makers and dining sites" when I was there I met THJE MAN himself wearing bib overalls worn at the knees in most cases tourists did not recognize him and wound not approach him looking like a worn out janitor!! The lighting in the carousel room would be culprit of accidental fire 150000 lights carousel only set up in stacked split circuits low light levels with high heat level The fun nights were July 4 in the top of the house with view of to 6 towns fireworks!!!!
My daughter and I visited Sunday, Oct 6 by her request for her bday. Those signs were still up- was super strange being in that area in silence!! Several of the music machines weren't working but hey, that's intricate engineering that sometimes need a break! We adore the place ❤️ We live very close, about 40min away. A true Wisconsin Gem
Just wanted to say thank you Jacob and Jen. This by far the best video ever of the house on the rock. One of my favorite places to visit. Love all your awesome videos!
I was there in the late 80's or early 90s. The floor in the Infinity Room was not covered. There was no box framing on those windows either. It was an awesome experience then. I'm sad they changed it.
I really loved The House on the Rock. Thank you for the journey and Jen is so sweet. I love her energy with you. She is fun and that place is awesome!! 😊
Jason The mythical beast You mentioned on the carousel the lion with the eagle head is called a Griffon. I think the two children with their heads in the oven are perhaps Hansel and Gretel? My father worked at National Cash Register (NCR) when I was a child. I have also been to the Henry Ford Museum and Frontier Village loved both museums. Thank you for taking us through the museum I have never been and due to a run in with stupid cancer can not in the future. I appreciate this very, very much! Thanks to Jen for letting us tag along on her date with you too ❤
Very cool place to visit! Great stream! Good to see Jen back and feeling better. 🐋 Interesting, that whale having teeth, when that species doesn't really have teeth. But it is a cool sculpture. Like the old shops as well. The Michigan Historical Museum has that as well, along with depictions of homes of the 50's, etc. we'd love to have you visit. 😊
0o o0 00 WOW!!!! I've visited The House On The Rock with my dad, stepmom ( Before she died of bone cancer ), my younger brother, and brother's wife years ago.
these are the only videos of yours i refuse to watch, but just until i return to house on the rock. i went as a kid and it blew me away, but i keep just missing opportunities to return. but it's important enough that i want a fresh view of the place. i look forward to watching these in bulk the evening of the day i go back, heh.
I was there when it caught fire. Traveled all the way from Tennessee to see it and could only see 2/3 of it. Ugh. I'm so glad the damage was kept at a minimum.
Went there last year. I started raining lightly in the morning. By late morning we were I the third section and we could hear the rain on the metal roof. There is a large steam tractor in the airplane section and there was a lot leaking with buckets on floor. Then we discovered several other leaks. One was in amongst the 32’ wood diaphones in the organ room. There is an emergency exit behind some of the pipes and the water was dripping down and the carpet was wet😢.
Definitely going to be on my vacation trip im really wanting to ride there by train so cool thanks for showing this Jacob you and Jenn have fun safe time. ❤
That was wild to see .I really enjoy looking and the strange and unusual . I hope you can come back when the music in the Circus is fixed I love the Circus !
It is hard to convey how big and how much stuff there is to see and what it’s like, now there is RUclips so you can get an idea of it. We arrived in the morning, ate lunch there and when we left our car was among the last in the parking lot(s), and the vehicles and airplanes section was not open yet. Was tons of other visitors also so it looks like you went at a good time. It is overwhelming and like a fever dream.
Wow Jacob that was the best attraction you have taken me to. Thank you so much. That was brilliant. We have nothing like the places you take us to in the uk. So keep up the good work, how will you top that? I am sure you will beast wishes to you and Jen. Bev UK 🇬🇧
I was about to have a heart attack becayse i thought it was about your house on fire. Glad to hear it qasn't and that thisplaces fire got under control!❤
My son and I were there July 20,2024 and the whale penny was to the left of the octopus band. The infinity room penny was also somewhere else. They just moved them! Now they are much easier to find!
I actually visited the house on the rock for the first time 2 weekends ago from today after the fire and wasn't aware of the fire until this video. The object where you mentioned where the fire occurred and got damaged, I thought it was some sort of art piece similar to compete with the Transformers. Now I understand what happened. I was on my way to Winnipeg Manitoba Canada and Denver Colorado to visit my cousins in Denver Colorado and went out of my way for sightseeing.
I honestly love collections. So impressive to see all these items. After all everything has a importance and gives a view to the past. I wish i could see this with my own eyes one day
I've known about this place for 40 years...but only went there 2 years ago. I was SHOCKED! Just keeping all the light bulbs replaced, when they burn out, is a monumental feat. And I didn't see ONE burned out!
Yes! I’m glad this placed had such a magical affect on you and now Jen, too, to give it such a high attraction rating-especially considering all your travels and experiences; I don’t get to visit attractions often but when I lived in St Paul I’d drive over to The House for a treat on occasion which brought goosebumps each visit and I find it validating you found it special, too! Cheers. PS You were a hardy brave soul attending California State Fair-that was a record-breaking heat wave.
Lived in Wisconsin my entire 57 years and only live 42 miles from the house on the rock. Have been by it 100s of times but have only been there once back in the mid 80s. Beautiful place but now at 57 years old I'm disabled and unable to walk only a very short distance
Yes, to have this in your backyard... amazing. Wonder what fantastic objects they may have in China? Or Europe. This is a collection of collections though.

I LOVE the self plying instruments!😊❤
I agree! I also saw the title and went "NO!" Glad they got to it in time.
This place is unapologetically weird yet magical. Glad it wasn’t too badly damaged.
I love House on the Rock. The carousel room is absolutely breathtaking!
No way! You posted this video on the same day I went to visit House on the Rock for myself with a group of friends! My friend’s boyfriend proposed to her in front of the carousel yesterday. ☺️
Congrats on 500K!! 🎉
This is my HAPPY PLACE, man! I'm so happy to see you back!
I hear ya man! Whenever I I need a pick me up video, I go to HOUSE ON THE ROCK and anything else The Carpetbagger puts up.
That room had a definite magic to it… I didn’t really understand it, but that room stood out to me. Even more than the carousel.
I’m very happy that they were able to put the fire out keep House on the Rock alive. Hope you have fun Jacob and Jenn!
Unbelievable place! Holy crap.. Have to visit that in person. Thanks, Jacob!

I'm very happy that they were able to get the fire put out quickly so there wasn't more damage.
Hi from England, OMGosh the most amazing roadside attraction, the carousel room was beautiful

I agree with you, that this is one of the best attractions! And the emotions that come with it. The first time was 50 years ago and this place still amazes me. Thank you Jacob and Jen for a wonderful video! 💕
Like Jenn said, House on the Rock is definitely bucket list worthy.
ha! just said to my mom "if I had a bucket list of destinations, house on the rock is #1" there is just something about it... blows my mind!
I always understood that dalmatians were originally used because they were great with the horses that pulled the firepump carts, often leading the way and calming the horses. Yeah whoever told him that are full of it. I'm a former vet tech. I've never heard that in my life. Also owned dalmatians none were deaf. Lol
This was my understanding about the dalmatians being good with the horses.
Still impressive they keep all those musical instruments working, that is 1 special museum, looks really amazing.
Wow, what a helluva house! And it’s a 5-6 hour tour?! Glad to see a lot of ramps, so we could get around easier, then if it were all stairs. I LOVE the self playing instruments, I’d sit there all day! Thank you Jacob and Jenny!!❤😊
