“Senču balsis” ir bungu un dūdu mūzikas grupas Auļi jaunā koncertprogramma, sadarbībā ar māksliniekiem no dažādām pasaules valstīm. Auļi ir devušies pasaulē, lai satiktos un iepazītos ar dziedātājiem, kuri pārstāv senas un neparastas dziedāšanas tradīcijas un tehnikas. Šoreiz uzmanība pievērsta jaudīgām vīriešu balsīm, kas raksturo kādu reģionu. Skaņdarbos pazīstamu izpildītāju dziedājums no ģeogrāfiski atšķirīgām vietām ir sapludināts ar Auļu latviešu muzikālajās tradīcijās balstīto spēcīgo instrumentālo mūziku, radot iespaidīgu pasaules mūzikas programmu.

“Voices of the Ancestors” is a new concert programme by the drum and bagpipe group Auļi in collaboration with musicians from various countries around the world. Auļi have travelled far and wide to meet singers representing ancient and unusual singing traditions and techniques. This time the group has focused on powerful men’s voices that characterise a specific region. Performances by well-known singers from various geographical regions merge with the Auļi’s powerful instrumental music based in Latvian traditional music, creating an impressive programme of world music.

Magnificient concept that crystallizes my view on how we should go towards cultural evolution in our modern time.
Not globalism, where everything mixes to become a blend, but rather a cooperative segregation of all the cultures, preserving themselves from other influences and therefore growing their roots and leaves, while cooperating with others in order to create a beautiful painting of unique colors.

@@SpatsirkSpart2.0 They are segregated while working together. You don't see a mongolian playing latvian instruments, an austrian throat singing, a saami yodeling and a latvian joiking and all in costumes and manners of another's culture.
The same could be done between nations rather than within nations, blending and assimilation is not the same as cooperating, in the first case you loose specificity and diversity while in the other you preserve and even further it.

Яркий, техничный саунд, который получается у только у опытных мастеров. Йойк и горловое пение звучат очень уместно. Хотела написать про самобытность, но осеклась: жесткая, качающая ритмика, гармоники звука внезапно напомнили ранних Garmarna. Но это и хорошо, мне не хватает такой музыки!

Basically, it goes like this: I packed my small horse x2, I went to Prussia to look for a bride x2 Prussian girls turned out to be too prideful and didn't look at me x2, Kurzeme is where it's really at, the girls of Kurzeme are much better so I turned my small horse to go there instead. Prussians are a now dead Baltic ethnic group, Kurzeme is a part of Latvia.

@@dzintarsozols6185 It's also unnecessary: a song going in 4 different directions doesn't get anywhere. Their one to one collaborations are interesting and got potential -- this one is forced and disjointed. Anyway, just my impression.
