There are no "old" and "new" railway stations in Venice. There is Venezia Santa Lucia which is located inside the Venice Lagoon, close to historical city center, and Venezia Mestre which is the main station on the mainland line in the city of Mestre, which is not even a suburb of Venice, but a proper city in its own right. To be honest, the confusion is really all down to Italian railways which in early 2000s decided to rename the Mestre station (as it was known for well over a century) to Venezia Mestre.
Sheesh, went from schipol to Antwerp centraal yesterday. One train an hour, 90 minutes and my train was cancelled so i decided to shell out for the Eurostar which was 80 euros...two of most interconnected countries in europe and our railway connection is still terrible 10 years after the Fyra ordeal. Look forward to the ICNG with a new service patrern, cant come soon enough
nmbs don't give international slots for their congested section Antwerp Brussels . They have a stake in the profitable Thaly/Eurostar, so they funnel you into the Eurostar, for too high fare rates..
the ETR 700 Series is the old Titanic Fyra train that normally had to run between the Netherlands and Belgium >>>>> ruclips.net/video/qu5rBIpvFB0/видео.htmlsi=XOh_uCBj-jD0tJ-t and which now runs in Italy
In 2012 Belgium bought this "HS" train, started on december 2012. Pathetic failure. Breakdowns, premature rust, pieces lost in the countryside, front hood cover, some bolts, a door that comes off during a stop at Brussels-Central, doors vulnerable to water infiltration, part of a train roof that comes off during a journey, a grille that comes off under a train, the underside of the trains was insufficiently protected against obstacles, premature rust formation, non-watertight protection of electrical components, a design problem with cables and conduits.. After a month of operations, less than 45% of trains ran on schedule. Finally abandonned on 18 january 2013. Only one month running! Huge laugh burst in Europe...😂😂😂
They are fine now. And also: the new trains on the Belgium to Netherlands high speed line are having problems too. So maybe it's not the train's fault.
@@nicolorivoir4399 I have been wanting to ride the ETR700 for ages to see what they were like- spent 3hrs on one recently in business class (Venezia-Verona, diverted via Bologna)- really nice. Only things were minor, like water not working in the toilet, the seat recliner handle being a bit tricky to find and there was some slightly over-enthusiastic braking a couple of times. Ride was good and they look great in the new Frecciarossa colours. The ride quality is nicer than an ETR600, too.

(you only understand that remark if you are a Fawlty Towers fan).😏

@@danielparrott8339 Except for that awful color of the seats in Business Class. What color is that? Vomit?
Surely they got rid of the Frecciabianco because of its skin color!
(chill, it's a joke!)
