The fucked up thing is that Jason knows that Clay is right. He knows he has a TBI but didn't take himself out of the fight to address it. His Ego is monumental.
You'd think that almost getting his team killed would be a turning point for him.
Loved the character at first but he slowly became an asshole over time. Quick to critique others but will pull rank when it is done to him.

I'm certainly not taking up for B1. But in all fairness he doesn't remember what he did .... but he knows he's got short term memory problems and the doc in Germany told he needs more TBI eval..... in real life he would have been flagged to command.... but this is TV.... its just not very believable to me.... and he's become a liability.....

While there's no question that Jason is an asshole at times and overly confrontational he's the perfect example of a person who has let their job completely consume them to where they are detached from the things that really matter in life and Sonny is guilty of that as well. It's really sad that Jason and Sonny always question Clay's loyalty to the team because it's clear that Clay doesn't wanna make this his entire life like them.

Unfortunately its the reality for tier one operators. Their blade doesn't stay sharp forever. For some it takes 10 years to dull, for some 20, some more. After 20+ years of active duty service the trauma Jason has been going through for 20+ years is starting to rear its ugly head and that's when guys get removed from command.

@@masonorosco1090 The incredible but sad part about that though is this is 100% realistic for many tier one operators. Many let the job consume them completely.

I find it funny the hate Clay gets for being 'snippy' or always questioning Jase. For freaking sake, Jase knows he's having problems but he once again ignored and override it and it nearly killed his whole team. Does anyone really think if Clay talks to Jason that Bravo 1 will just listen and accept what Clay says? Nope. I hated how Clay's sick baby was thrown into the argument, seriously hope there's some sort of fallout/apology. The amount of times Clay just stand there and takes the abuse, from Sonny in s3, from Jase... and they all still keep questioning his loyalty to the team. How many times does it need to be mentioned he sacrificed so much for Ray last season and still his brothers think he only cares about rank! Sorry rant over. Have a lovely weekend everyone... urm Team Clay out.

I feel so fucking bad for Clay here. Sure, the rest of the team don't know why he left on this mission and left his kid with Stella in the NICU and why he's questioning Jason so much, but it was still real fucking dirty of J to use his kid against him like that. Especially because Jason knows his brain ain't right and even though he doesn't know about the building and what Clay knows, the right thing to would be to back down until he knows he's fit to lead the team. And even if he doesn't know why Clay's questioning him, he knows he's right.

As an infantry officer, I served as a platoon leader for a short period of time and have been with that kind of NCOs. Jason's long brain damage has disrupted his mission, and in this case, it is normal to come down from the position. However, in reality, it is difficult to dismiss him from his post. Because soldiers are not machines. They are humans with emotions. This decision is difficult even for officers who have to judge coldly. Moreover, Bravo 6 is hard to say that to the team leader. I'm not an American, I'm not an English speaker, so I wrote this using a translator. Their culture may be different from my military, but I think these feelings will be similar.

He made a snippy comment to Jason in front of the team and that turned it into a pissing contest as Jason needs to safe face. It is so difficult and complicated to speak truth to power at the best of times, clay has every right to be concerned about the safety of bravo under Jason's leadership but he must have known that dealing with this this head on with Jason was definitely going to be like reasoning with a brick wall. Jason wants to die in battle that is more than obvious, he's had a taste of what life alone outside of bravo is like and that terrifies him so much so he's wishing to be taken out in combat than face a life alone and a cripple. Jason won't even consider taking his own life because he doesn't want to take the cowards way out but equally he refuses to become a burden to anyone because his pride and ego will never let that happen. Wrong, he’s the disgrace. The Trident represents Honor, Courage, and Commitment; and he’s failed at all three.
Honor - by lying about his problems, lashing out at his teammates, and contemplating suicide to manipulate them has dishonored the name of the United States Naval Service.
Courage - Speaking of suicide, that is the coward’s way out. He also is too much of a coward to admit his own mistakes.
Commitment - Oh, yeah; killing yourself and leaving your team high and dry is extremely dedicated to the Navy. #sarcasm
