After months of anticipation, the concept album for Andrew Lloyd Webber's CINDERELLA has finally been released. Already dividing audience members at early preview performances, the show is a modern retelling of the classic fairytale.
Today I am listening to and reacting to the full concept album for the first time, sharing my candid thoughts and letting you know my updated decision on whether or not I will be seeing the show at the Gillian Lynne Theatre.

The complete concept album for Andrew Lloyd Webber, David Zippel and Emerald Fennell's Cinderella has been unveiled.
Released on streaming platforms on the stroke of midnight, the album features the West End production's leads Carrie Hope Fletcher and Ivano Turco, as well as special guests including Todrick Hall, Adam Lambert and Helen George, each providing their own takes on characters and tunes from the show.

of all the things I was expecting in this musical, Adam Lambert interrupting his brother's wedding to announce that he's not dead, he was just fighting evil and getting away from an annoying fiancé and also he's gay and he's going to marry his boyfriend and be king.
I’m crying at your responses 😂 “just take flats in a bag!” I just died
"I've been said this is a deliberate homage to the song, in the same way that when my students cheat in their homework, it's a deliberate homage to Google."
This video made me go and listen to "Unfair" and try to figure out the rhythm. I gave up after listening to it five times and went and found the sheet music. It literally changes time signature every single measure for significant portions of the song.
“Stop calling each other vegetables you awful people” will be stuck in my head for a while. Cannot stop laughing.
Victoria Hamilton-Barritt sounds like she is trying to do an impression of Gillian Anderson’s Margaret Thatcher voice from The Crown.
Adam Lambert is everything! And you're SO fun to watch 👌
I love Adam Lambert! It is a pleasant surprise to hear a song by him on Broadway cast recording,
Surprisingly, the soundtrack has changed A-LOT in the show (I prefer it more actually)
It'll never not be creepy how the queen talks about her son in Act One. It really freaks me out.
So I was lucky enough to see the show already, and I must say how much the music has changed since this was recorded. A couple songs are cut, some are still there but in a different style/feel. Overall a very strong musical and hopefully it does well

I love watching this channel. The Cinderella Saga is both funny and so real. I really appreciate all well rounded and insightful responses.
I love ALW musicals. I love your dialogue and throughout. I am impressed with your knowledge of all musicals and your references to them. I thoroughly enjoyed your review and everyone loves a key-change.
Great review Mickey! Always hard to judge it all prior to seeing the actual theatrical extravaganza. For example the Godmother scene is electrifying but that doesn't come across on the album. I saw the show on Saturday and loved it - there's so much more humour than you might expect. The performances and costumes are stand out. Plus Ivano was off but his understudy was AMAZING. Plus I thought the twists and turns in the story worked. Go and see it definitely - you might be surprised......
Adam Lambert IS everything.
I'm not too happy about the music (i like just a few select numbers) BUT I appreciate what I can gather about the story. The idea of Cinderella knowing the prince but him not recognizing her due to the transformation and not liking that version of her is brilliant in my opinion.
I’ve also been lucky enough to see the show and it was fantastic! The music and concept works really well!
I’m so torn because on the one hand it’s fun and catchy and not skinny leading lady! But also every song somehow manages to both sound exactly the same and like it’s from an entirely different show at the same time? If that makes sense?
