- Check out why I think this in not a replacement for the R6 or a remake of the old R7. This new R7 is something entirely different.

This production quality is next level. Love it!
Bro thank you. We put a lot of hard work and time into it. Hope you enjoyed it and found it useful.
Hands down best comprehensive review on the r7 I’ve seen..well done fr..
I appreciate that!
@@socalriderb one big to another, I’m 6’ 245..you fit well on the r7. Looks like it was meant for you..mind letting me know your height/weight for reference? Ride safe..🤙🏽
DUDE !!!! Last time I watch your N400 review, I was so impressed that I got a N400. Now with the R7, you are seriously underrated and taking my money, especially with that speech in the beginning.
Than you man. I’ll try to keep these to a minimum so the bank doesn’t get broken
Can't go wrong with N400, sad I sold mine.
100% it’s a super bike. Coming off a R6 and GSXR600 .. I love the R7. Especially in town. On track it’s still a blast.
Does it feel powerful. And fast? Or does it just feel like “oh it’s fast but”?
The quality on your videos is amazing dude, keep em coming
Excellent videography, editing, and writing!
Nice profile pic
Great video man, picking up this baby in a week or two, really looking forward to it!
Best review of the R7. I love mine, super fun at the track and good commuter bike. If I didn’t have one your video would make me go to the dealership immediately 👏🏼
Amazing quality and informative video. An absolute unique review amongst hundreds of videos.
Thanks for your super support and recognizing the hard work
incredible production work - best r7 video ive seen to date. Really love the historical references
Solid review bro! I've been on the fence but now im going for it
Let me know how it treats you.
I own this bike, coming back from years without riding when my 1st bike was a r1. I definitely miss the power but there is never many times i really need it. the r7 is a beautiful bike
I just bought this bike and it scares me lol I’m coming from Harley’s so this is a whole different ball game to me but I got it because I don’t trust myself with a r6 or r1 and I just wanted something for my 100 mile commute and this thing does the job haha for $55 a week compared to my truck $140a week I thought this bike is super fast like you said with a constant calm throttle you don’t even notice you’re doing 100… I just wish this bike came with a better exhaust and without that ugly license plate / turn signals I’m so bummed that on top of the bike payment I have to buy an exhaust and fender eliminator kit with integrated lights just to be happy with the look and sound
I literally just watched the whole video! Great work!
Best review of the R7 to date and I’ve seen them all! I’d say due to being sub 100hp it’s a super sports as opposed to a super bike
Sick edit and commentary ! Also great information, I’ve had the R7 for a month now and I upgraded from a 400CC sport bike. As you said the R7 is a super sport but is still manageable for newer rides. Also when you add your own modifications to the bike such as an exhaust, tail tidy, and new turning signals , this bike changes for the better.
The only non performance downside is how quiet the bike is. I added a TOCE exhaust system and the bike is so much more louder and gives you a whole new riding experience.
Great review man, keep it up, dope bike, will be my first super bike some day!
Good luck!
Nice review! New owner here of 2023 R7 second week of owning
Great bike. I’m glad you liked the review
Finally, a great and honest video about the R7. Thanks ✌️
Thanks bro bro
Great! I wish they'd make prettier colors than black and blue, the anniversary version is gorgeous. I'm looking at the Zx4rr for the future, but yeah, the r7 is great! Awesome review!
Me too. We need more color
You can always get custom fairings tho, it costs but it’s worth it
The pearly white for 2023 is gorgeous.
Sadly there is only dark blue and black in germany, even for 2024@@101BadBreath
Whether or not anyone thinks it’s a super bike, there’s no denying that the 60th Anniversary color scheme is glorious. I just bought an XSR900, but almost went with that bike based on looks alone. Great video.
The XSR900 is a sick bike. What color did you get?
@@socalriderb legend blue
Agree, I picked up a 2022 old stock 60th Anniversary edition had to search for it but worth.
what a review .. bike looks cool in those colours. i think personally it should be super sport ish, to be a true superbike you still need that big power , but for newer riders or less confident this looks like a great machine, maybe a back to back test with the R6 is needed
I think you have a solid point. I wish I had a r6 to test
Great video dope content cant wait to get my hands on a r7 i ride cbr 600rr and s1000rr bmw but if this bike can carve lines good
And good short burst up to 100mph im sold all about the bends ps could of had 40 bhp more lol
put my deposit on mine 2 weeks ago. this is the best review so far!
That’s a good Christmas
@socalriderb yessir, 2024 she just came in yesterday, going to pick her up today! 🙏🏽
As a Super Sport, it's the typical Yamaha track weapon, a friend of mine has one, it is on the slim side, being a gen6 ZX10R rider, but I recognize its hidden potential and capabilities, excellent break down and review, and as a side note, all the unsolicited hate let's you know you are going in the right direction
Thanks 🙏 your words mean more than you know.
I don't even think it's potential is hidden. When I rode mine for the first time I immediately felt that it's a weapon. Those high pegs are just chefs kiss, the torquiness in the low rpms, the body position. I think it's perfect in it's own class.
Great review of the R7
Thanks 🙏
What a great in depth review. The production quality is outstanding! Is the R7 a superbike though, I can't agree. And I own a 60th Anniversary R7 myself. It's just semantics really. R1 class bikes are called superbikes for a reason. If R7 would be a superbike, then R1 would need to be a hyperbike, just for the sake of sheer definition of absurd performance. Just as it is in the car world. It's a great sports bike, a "beginner +" class. Let's say like a Ninja 400+. It is Yamaha's response to people turning MT07's to track bikes and it is just as great at this thing as Yamaha designed it to be.
I love your honest opinion. Bro, thanks for sharing. You make some great points.
I will highly recommend this bike to learner riders. Linear power is great, cornering great. Upgrade tires when can. Great bike. No need to really upgrade bike later on.
Appreciate the content! Can really tell that you put in a lot of effort into this vid! Question, do you think you could've started out on an R7?
Bro I’ve asked myself that question a lot and here’s how I answer it. The answer is I don’t know. Here’s why I say that. When I had the ninja 400 there were times that I let my inhibitions go and just went hard. But it didnt have that immediate jump to let me make big mistakes. Took a while to get in the higher rpm range and let me rethink how stupid I was being. Didn’t go up to the R7 until I realized that I might have a self control problem that I need to correct. After I got that under control I chose the R7. Now here’s the deal, I could’ve gotten a R1 or another litter bike but I still don’t know how I might handle more power emotionally so I got the R7. I’m more emotionally mature on the bike now, so I’m ready to get that liter bike now
@@socalriderb I appreciate the answer! I know for a fact that I would push things too far (new rider) and decided that a smaller bike is necessary for me. I want to go fast but I'm old enough (31) to know better. It was a grounding revelation. Thanks again!
I love your videos ! Just watched your tutorial and started to watch eveyrthing else ! Im small tho :/
Thanks man! Don’t let your body limit you. I’m technically short and overweight. Love who you are and with with what you have.
Loved the video, great job on the production. Keep up the good work, brother! I've ridden the R7 a good amount and compared to a basic superbike like the ZX-6R or the R6, I just don't think it compares really. The R7 is kind of in a class of it's own. Fun little bike, but not really a superbike, imo. TLDR: Sportbike, not a Super Sport; Super Fun but not a Super Sport.
Thanks man. It’s cool to hear your perspective!
I agree it's a class of its own, both this and a 600 can exist for different reasons.. The R7 disrespect is mega childish
@@101BadBreathAbsolutely, I don’t understand the disrespect, it’s a great bike. Doesn’t need to fit into either category, it’s an R7.
R7 is a jack of all trades, a perfect street bike and a track beast.
As a track racer, this bike's performance on and off track is good, but i prefer the R6
so for newbies what did u change again lmao? and is the stock version still good? there are some modification options on yama website for I think some suspenson or what not, did u take these?
I love my R7. Who cares what they say?Great video bro. A real review.🔥🔥🔥
Where did you get your suspension tuned? The link in description isn’t working
Such a beautiful bike, 🤩❤
I love this channel so much
I love your support
IN MOST CASE'S the typer expands after heat build-up... you need to adjust your tryers PSI for the type of riding you want to hit like i love hitting's 55 degrees of lean all the time but if your pressers are too high you lose contact patch and you will notice slipping all so its due to Wight placement on the bars {{{{ as well with lower PSI's its harder too turn and you lose responsiveness' but you gain is stable traction and positioning of the front weel and its harder too off place it as well
me SuperSport rider and I love hitting tyres to the max PSI is super important!!!! never forget that
Bro that intro was legendary
Thanks man
Outstanding.
I luved da bike dat much I bought one brand new last year n it haz never ever let me down rain heat cold don't matter I love it itz a beast n yes it iz a great transitional bike 4 liften ur game if u want mine iz da anniversary edition 2 same everything except I'm in Ozzy land stay upright brutha u obviously luv ur bike like I luv mine 😜🌙
Fking good intro, true words, well done❤🎉
The r7 is the 100%,absolute,pure best, nastiests, sport bike ever made. It's fawking raw!
A super sport needs a decent amount of power and that's the one thing the r7 is lacking. It's a great beginner bike for someone that wants an aggressive riding position. Most other beginner bikes have a more relaxed riding position
Welp. I'm sold.
Superbike, no - Great Road focussed Sportsbike - definitely! Love mine.
Best rapper
You should have more subs
Only problem with this bike is, that people compare it to the r6 and that people want a replacement for the missing slot. Poor decision bei yamaha to release this thing and at the same time, remove the r6. R7 is its own thing and the replacement for the r6 is coming in the future as r9
That was a bad marketing move by them for sure
This has no right being better than some marvel movies
This bike is awesome, I’m going to buy one. I’m a 41 year new rider, but the weight of the bike and me being 6’4 is definitely a go for me, I’m also checking out the 🥷🏾 650 also.
If you want an city bike you would get an mt07 for the more comfortable riding position. R7 is a sports bike without the oomph and sound that makes super sports fun. The Zx4rr is a much better take on a smaller sporty bike imo
I see your point. And it’s a good one. Thanks for sharing
The zx4rr is a slightly louder lawnmower
Hated the MT 07 suspension, felt like it was going to wash out as soon as pushed...spoilt the rebel feel that t had in a straight line. Had no confidence in it. ZX4RR was a fun test, revs up is fun but gutless otherwise much prefer the torque and mid range punch of the R7... Are R7 is a very good mountain carver.
Yep, you're black and riding a sports bike,i like it.
Great video. Shame you didn't use actual OW02 videos of Nori Haga sliding the original R7 around Sugo in WSB, since it would have made for a more compelling narrative. Is it a superbike? No! why? Apart from being a sheep in wolves' clothing, the new R7 has the same performance and handling of an SV650S from 2 decades ago. They were fantastic bikes and with the right mods were brilliant track bikes. Light, flickable and plentyof toruqe. Sound familiar? The R7 is an accomplished supertwin and you'll probably see more of these bikes on the Isle of Man or Irish road races. I'd say it's a good ancesteroal replacement to the venerable SV. If you want to call this a superbike, you'll need to classify the Honda NC35 and NC30 and ZXR400 superbikes too, which they clearly arent.
👏🏾👏🏾🤩 I like your argument. Good point. I missed that video. Totally wish I I would’ve thought about that idea! Thanks man
@@socalriderb not going to lie, your video had me pondering. I've got a 4C8 R1 that I used for track and it's a bit too much for the road. I loved my old CBR500R that I had for a commuter, purely because I could go everywhere on a wide open throttle.
It's much of the reason why I got drawn to revisiting recent R7 was the fact that it will deliver that essence. Long term videos like yours was very insightful. I'd happily swap the R1 for an R7 because unlike your awesome so cal canyons, the roads across the pond in South Wales and England tend to be piss wet 300 days of the year.
My other winter bike is an FZS-1000, so it's not as if I need 2x R1 engined bikes for my speed fix.
Is it super bike? Nope, but it makes you a super rider more than any R1 can... At least for the street.
Keep it rubber side down and sunny side up dude!
Thanks man! If you ever visit cali hit me up and let’s ride
Not really digging it after being on a R1
Great for a noob
Should be good for you then.
I'm sorry but I can't trust someone thats using 4 fingers on the clutch :(
😂
Most stupid bike ever. Yamah must start producing R6 street legal back soon. R6 is iconic R7 is bad.
Most stupid comment ever.
The R7 is not a real supersport. It is a fraud. The R7 is a glorified 74hp beginner sportbike. You need 100hp minimum to qualify as a real supersport. $2000 more will get you a ZX6R. Just save your $$$ for 1 more year. You have to be dumb, impatient, and desperate to waste your money on an R7. I ride bikes with a minimum of 100hp for a reason.
Wow, certified sPortBike riDeR. :O
Worse then a r6 so the r7 is a waste.
Thanks for your perspective 👊🏾
it’s not “worse”, it has a completely different use case. i4 screamers for city riding are trash, having to rev your bike to shit from red light to red light is everything but fun and practical.
if you’re a freeway or track bro, get an R6, sure, but if you want a bike to daily or to commute, the R7 is perfect. having instant torque at like 3k makes it a way more practical city bike vs having to spool up to 9-10k to tap into some power like the R6.
@@socalriderb not trying to sound like a A-hole. tire pressure problem with slipping is you have too much air.
@channelofstuff6662 you’re not being an a hole. You’re being helpful thanks for that. I will keep that in mind and test it out
U never even rode one 😂
This the bike I’m viewing as my next bike. I started and currently am riding a ninja 400. I do country/city riding. I know it’s more CC’s but as a parallel twin, is it even that much more power than the ninja 400? Just curious if it’s worth the upgrade in 2x the cost of the ninja. And the aggressive riding position concerns me to be super uncomfortable
I feel like it’s worth it. And you get used to the riding position. It’s not that much more power where your mind is blown but you definitely feel the difference
They should have done something different to the CP2 to make it specific to the R7....kinda how they detuned the R6 engine for use in the FZ? Beef up the MT CP2 for use in the R7. That would have solved the issues it faces where people just whine and complain about it being an mt07.
Great point and feedback. Hopefully Yamaha listens to
Definitely, but maybe the R9 can satisfy all the speed demons
@@tracy2. I mean, i think it will but by virtue of just selling people on power. The r7 is beautifully balanced and Im not talking giving it a huge increase in power just a little bump to differentiate it and make it a lil more appealing to spec racer bois.
@@Genevagirls-h2x it’s definitely just a little bit of power away from what i think is a perfect bike. Me being optimistic about the R9 is the only reason i haven’t bought one. I was just going to try and get my hands on that turbo kit
