Hey yams, how about a video on the kawi z1000 bikes over the years? I got a 2013 model this year and I feel they're pretty underrated and don't get much love.
Yes i do , haven’t even watched yet but still buying one
But they suck
I'm going to get mine Tuesdays and really wouldn't care what any review says.... hadn't watched yet either bro...I WANT THAT BIKE!
@@heymr.sowhatareyousaying5831it’s not a worthy bike for the r name
@@heymr.sowhatareyousaying5831 you understand
@michaeldirosa5292 So does the girls that say they don't, but we still like them too... Right!
I don't know why I watched this because I already have one, but I couldn't agree more with Yammie. The R7 is a fantastic bike all around.
been watching for years since i was like 17 not being able to ride legally. 22 now and im finally getting off the dirtbikes and getting an r7 in the spring. stunting it out full exhaust and tune. gonna be my first street legal bike of my own.
This is a bike that improves/fixes/grants all my Wishlist for my -old- Yamaha SRX600. Perfect amount of power for canyon carving, and good OEM brakes and wheels and modern tires, full fairing, thin as can be, a twin. The SRX600 is stupid good fun and almost nobody went up a canyon quicker, because the power of light, small, thin bikes to not be too big for the road.
Finally a mention for the cbr650r, I would be talking the cbr over any of the 650 class, has the best of all. The only thing it lacks is fully adjustable suspension, however the suspension is tuned pretty nice and seems to do a good job all round.
I love the way the cbr looks. I really want one. I have to decide between that and the R7. I personally don’t care about the power difference. I’m leaning towards the R7 because of the way it sounds. I’m just in love with that mean sound.
@alexhejna7481 Personally I prefer the sound of an inline 4, especially on a sports bike. I feel a V twin sounds to much like a trail bike. The R7 would still be a nice bike as I think you have a bit more adjustment in the suspension than the CBR. What country do you live in as some have the power restricted?
@@deant6627it’s not a v twin. Inline 2
Took my licence on a cbr650r. Fun little bike, not the best ergonomics for longer trips past 2 hours, but its very forgiving and easy to learn on.
@@_VQJose the r7 is a parallel twin
Ooooooooo that red and white anniversary livery I sooooooo good!!!
Choosing between the R7 and RS660 is a TOUGH one!!!
A CP3-powered R9 would be A frikin blast IMHO. A friend of mine has a MT-09 SP and it is too good for a kind of cheap naked bike, I can't imagine that suspension and engine on a sportbike frame and ergonomics. Still, the R7 is awesome too, but quite different to MT-09 in sensations.
I had my MT07 for 4 happy years. It's a perfect city bike 🏍 and have more than enough juice for long highway rides
I have a RS660 it has 18,000km right now and I never had any issues riding thing thing daily + weekend + track I'm in love.
One of the best looking out on the market ❤.
Even though i own the MT07 2022 ✌️
Already own one since 4 weeks, absolutely love this bike👌👍
Shouldve went with mt07
@@melihdrms1182 tried that, but Naked bikes arent for me, so i got the R7
@@melihdrms1182that’s literally the same bike but with other ergonomics and less plastics, mt07 and R7 are just personal preference about the look and feel🤷🏻♂️
Same here, absolutely fantastic bike and I highly recommend it to anyone
just got mine on saturday. it’s a blast to ride. idc what anyone says
Get one it's such a fun bike💙
Man I own a Mt09 sp and Mt07 all because of you😂😅😂..
great video as usual!! masterpiece and hilarious.
My buddy just got one of these last years and I tell you, it’s a great daily rider
R6 can also be a great daily
I think the r7 is a nearly perfect bike. Great price point, great motor, sporty ergonomics, and great aftermarket support.
Absolutely soulless compared to the R6 after riding both IMO
@@langstonharrisjara4973 better than waiting for that "soul" to comeout in 10k rpm. which most often than not you'd be right at the back of a truck 🤷🏼🤷🏼
@@RinHerathat’s the worst excuse to justify your point. Which holds no weight
HOW IS IT THE PERFECT BIKE WHEN THE R1 EXISTS?
@@RinHera I see your point there are in fact people that trade their r6 in for having no mid range.
I ride a 2021 CBR600 an hour to and from work anyway I never had a problem with torque or the bike being unridable in any traffic situation. I also has the 2002 gsxr600 for a few years.
Thanks Yamaha, I was waiting for this bike. Suzuki could have made a 650 sports bike with its V twin out ov the SV 650 ages ago.
I think the cbr 650 r is better, effectively same displacement with more horsepower and a more comfortable riding position. Also you can find used 650 rs and fs for well under half the price of an r7, still a good bike but not good in terms of value for money
I'm glad the R7 came out, now with track racers making power mods I can supe up an mt07
Am literally going to test ride a 2022 cbr650 and the 2023 R7 this week to decide which one i want this video was exactly what i was looking for, but after every thing iv seen online and my own personal opinion i think il get the R7
Which did you choose I’m looking for my first motorcycle
When is the new colors for the 2024 model coming? Thanks love the video.
Just got the R7 but as soon as the R9 comes out, I'm upgrading
Saw the new white version at the dealer today. Had me foaming at the mouth. I do wish they had chosen to do electric blue highlights instead of orange
I bought my r7 for 10600$ out the door in wa. After not riding for 8 years I was going to go for the r6 or cbr 600 but couldn't find any and the r1 and cbr 1000 were to much money to justify to my wife. Long story short I love my r7. My only complaint is that I cant get more than 130 mph out of it but I hardly ever go that fast. Thanks yammie I saw your review for it when you were testing the 2022
130 dam thats slow
@@GenghisKhan311mph not kph
@georgesuperack6483 lol are you trying to die?
I was going to get an R7 but i really want that R9. Hopefully they make it
How come that the CBR650r is 2,000 dollars cheaper than the R7 in Poland and Germany? If that's the case, doesn't the CBR make more sense to buy for daily use with a trackday every a weekend? What you think?
Did you say that the 2008 R6 has been dominating racetracks for over 20 years? I KNEW YOU WERE FROM THE FUTURE
Yeah it doesn’t add up 😂😂😂
I wish they brought back the YZF-600R thunder cat to replace the R6. Feel like that’s closer to an R6 while being less committed in the pocket. That being said, looking to snap up an R7 very soon.
I highly recommend ktm 890 duke r or Yamaha mt09. I’ll never own a sportbike again after buying a 23 ktm 890 duke. Comfort makes all the difference in the world
If we are talking single bike stable, I 100% agree that a naked is a more versatile choice. They are more than fast enough, corner fine, and can be used for long trips just by adding bags.
I would love a good 600ish sport bike, but I doubt it would see as much road time as my current naked. More for when I want to hit up some fun roads or gap those silly wannabe fast cars more than I already do.
@@rileyrat13I just came off a 600 and I live in the twisty hills so that’s all my riding is. I feel like I’ve been robbed of time by not getting a naked bike sooner. My biggest concern was hearing how much people complain about highway riding without a windscreen or fairings. I did 90mph consistently and felt 100% fine also. Idk just all my opinion
2k km on my RS660 odometer, no quality issues except for noice from rear break on lower speed.
i own an r7, after owning a r125 a few years ago. I'm getting a turbo on it as I loved it so much the first year of riding it. it's confidence inspiring, it looks great and the riding position is amazing (finally a manufacturer that does a proper sportsbike riding position)
Are you looking at getting the extreme creations turbo kit for Australia? I've been tempted to turbo my r7 as well!
yes, i had it mounted on the bike, only we're having issues with it so I haven't seen the bike in over 6 months. if you like complications, do it, but it won't be a stock bike anymore
I wish you would have mentioned the GSXR 750, since you brought up the CBR650R, which is also an inline 4.
The zx6r is just priced so well between the r7 and 660.
I really miss those 95 r-7..too bad it was so expensive and rare
Why does yammie keep changing his opinion on the r7. Is it horrible or is it perfect? I don’t understand
What about the ZX-4RR vs the R7? Disregarding the price, altho they are not that far apart.
that clip at 1:00 is at the dealership I get my Yamahas from , honestly couldn't recommend a better dealer than sycamores :D
I want to buy an R7 for my next bike, currently I have a Honda CBR300. I’m just not a fan of the r7 colors. Does anyone know if they will be coming out with different colors for next year?
Thanks for the video, you have convinced me again that the R7 should be my next bike.
If anybody is planning on getting an R7 i would say WAIT TILL 2024! the 2024 model will have ridebywire, factory quickshifter and TFT dash.
Want an R7 but just got a grom. I’ll ride my grom for a couple years and save up for an R7, by then it should have those features
Is this confirmed??
@@existingwithdan9483not even true 😂
One of the shops right near me just got one highly considering the r7 but then there’s a dealer right across the street from me with a zx4rr I really don’t know 😭
I would get the R7 if I were you...
zx4rr is a future collectible. R7 is gonna be better for daily use and touring.
An R9 would be very tempting.
Do u think the yamaha r7s good for a beginner rider?
As someone who wear a pair of sandals and shorts (optional) whenever they go outside I will surely buy the Yzf R1M 🗿
Maybe I’m a one off, but my Tuono V4 is perfect and doesn’t have any issues with oil. I love everything about it!
j'aime beaucoup la musique classique en arriere plan !
I own an R7 2023 and I tell you this: just go and buy, you won't regret it. Perfect balance. Powerful in low and mid speeds up until 100mph. Please don't compare it to R6, these are different bikes.
I am looking to upgrade to the R7 from a Honda CB500F. Are you a tall rider? I am 6 foot 4 and afraid I won't fit on the R7 comfortably, can you tell me more about this by any chance?
@@LodethebigI’m 6-1 and find it pretty comfortable. Have rode it for upwards of an hour and a half and didn’t have complaints. I don’t think 3 inches would make a huge difference but I would still recommend just going to a dealer and sitting on it to see how it feels
I'm 6'3 and I fit good on the bike. I have a 23 I bought in April. I daily to work 4 days a week at 84 miles a day. Comfortable for me. I have 2,800 miles on it and no complaints. I agree about going and sitting on it to see how you feel. If you end up not liking it I recommend the ninja 400. My wife got her license and bought a 23 when I got mine and it's really Comfortable with a more upright position. Good luck and ride safe brother
Thank you both for the response! I will check the nearby dealers and book a test ride to be safe ✌🏻
@@Lodethebig Im 1m82cm so my reach is quite good. The position is way more aggressive than the ninja 650 or 400 or CBR, however it gives you a certain comfort and confidence. Personally I love it. I recommend going for a test ride and think long term what you like and enjoy most. I have only 300km on the dash with no complaints whatsoever.
Turbo busa yammmmyyyy!!!

Is the r7 seating position alot more agressive compared to the SV650X model with the clip ons ?

That center headlight looks so absurd
I've never ridden before...ordered one last week
Can you drive stick in a car I would want to hope that you have either way enjoy your bike and congratulations my friend you will love it
I have an R7. Glad I went with it. Several compliments on it. Will turbo it later down the road.
Is it good for beginners?
@@yk_diaz depends on how responsible of a rider you are. Price point, depends on how much you make. For me, perfect: good power, not too little not too much, looks phenomenal, simple cluster and process of operation (doesn’t have any rider modes). Price.. it’s reasonable.
If you were glad you wouldn't be looking at turbos. You bought a weak bike. I hope it's your first ride.
Who’s here waiting for the R9? I can’t wait for that sound
i was waiting for the R9 but it looks like its coming in 2025. Fuck them,im going for the aprilia rs 660 instead. And in the future i'll either go for the bmw s1000rr or the panigale.

I personally will always prefer the sound of an inline 4, but the R7 is a really nice-looking machine and looks like a strong adversary to the ninja 650.
Couldn’t agree more. The pure inline 4 sound is second to none. Real reason for replay is to let u know I had 650 ninja got hit purchased an r7 and it’s not even close. R7 is faster thru all gears revs higher and looks way better. I’m embarrassed I ever owned a ninja 650 lol Have good weekend

Actually, I want an R9...
Yamaha tripple made for corners in canyons? Yes please
Dream bike 😍😍💙💙
Once a great person said, "It's not the size that matters, it's the how you use it."
I'm going to upgrade from my Ninja 400 soon and the R6 has always been one of my dream bikes. I'm really considering the R7 instead because of the torque and more comfortable riding stance. I enjoy longer rides and the R6 probably isn't going to be very comfortable.
R7 will be more useable
It is going to suck dude. R6 is a race bike. You won't care about how much the bike looks when your back already hurts after 1 hour of riding.
You'll be getting more bang for the buck. I have a T7 and I love the cp2 motor, it feels waay more torquey and bad ass than my old R6 did even though the torque numbers are comparable.
Get a ktm 890 duke r and thank me later for the best decision you ever made in your life
R6 trust me. The R7 is a small jump from your 400.
Haha, I feel the same way about naked bikes
Known way to many x-riders that aren’t around or don’t ride anymore because their first bike was a sport or super-sport bike as their first. As a veteran rider I would never recommend one to a new rider. There is a reason sport and super sports under a liter have been plummeting in popularity.
Great bike .. still traded in for a r1
Has he done a R7 vs RS660 video?

Ive been wanting to upgrade to the r7 but the r9 in the works is jolding me off.
You’ll make the money back before the r9 comes out splurge a lil 😉
Not to be confused with the YZF R7 that Haga used to race.

"the R6 was the second best beginner bike right behind the turbo Hayabusa" 🤣
it is just MT07 with fairing
Racing bike are suppose to be made from scratch and made with high quality that you can rev all day
this is not that but this is like Ninja 650
if is buy this as my first road bike would it be a bad descision? I have ridden dirt-bikes since i was 14.
Have an mt 07, dope bike tbh lol
I love the R7, its a great street bike, but a sports bike it is not. The engine is great for city riding, but its far from sporty. It may have similar ergos, but an R6,636,gsxr etc, this is not. I do however think it’s a great learner bike for someone to jump onto after a 125 before migrating to a proper sports bike, or a superbike (1000) . Also, if you’re track virgin an r7 is a great place to start learning the ropes.
@1:30 I'm not prioriting engine displacement or confituration at all. It's 100% about the price. My 2002 R6 cost me $8K out the door. I also don't need all the electronic BS. I'm not racing in MotoAmerica or Worldsupersport.
Did you buy that r6 new in 2002?
Sure did.@@trevor4533
@@jlzimmerman75 That's awesome, man.
Adjusting for inflation, that $8k r6 comes out to $13,500. So the R7 is of course cheaper.
Supposedly they're announcing the R9 in November with the CP3 engine. That should be pretty interesting.
@@trevor4533 I hope so. That's what I want.

Been on it for about 6 months
Fun times bro. Great starter and learner bike.
But it is true
After 6 months you will want an upgrade. Doesn't have to be a 1k bike but definitely go up a knotch.
@@Groovy_on_a_Zoomiethank you so much for this do you have any complaints about the r3? I’m thinking of getting the r7 after the r3
@Papmate1234
The only complaint about the R3 is that once you get used to the corners, the straight aways can be boring. It tops off at 110 MPH, and that's extremely slow, especially since I come from the car community where 150mph is basic, lol
But I understand that if you want something fast.... then buy something fast.
I'm super glad I started with an R3.... I have no complaints besides the power.... but... it is what it is... 🏍
Definitely fun to be on.
My longest trip is 4 hours on the bike. At cruising speed of 90 MPH the whole way. Extremely fun to be on. And I love the fact is is lightweight.
I started with a 00' R6 and still rockin it, but the R7 looks so fuckin hot you think its such a big downgrade?
Neat fact, an R6 makes more hp than my old 1988 honda CRX si.
Nahh yammy I'm a begginer i need a turbo bussa!!!!
So question? I’ve had my first bike for a little while now and it’s a Honda CB 500 I want to get more in the sport bikes and I thought the R7 would be a good second bike but I hear a lot of people say that it’s a beginner + bike. Should I go with something bigger or is the r7 a good second. I’m a taller guy and the 500 already feels like riding a kids tricycle after a few months.
I have an R7 (my first bike) and rode a CB500 on the exam for the licence.
The R7 is quite narrow, and although there's definitely more power than the CB, I don't know if the difference will keep you entertained for long, given how you say you out-grew the Honda in a few months only.
I'm personnally super happy with my R7 for now, but for my second bike I think I'll get something bigger, around the 100hp mark probably.
@@noblaw7595 thanks that’s all I needed to know. I’ll be getting something bigger then.
The MT07 deeeeserves better suspension… like noooowa!
How about a MT07 SP ? 😎
I'll buy a new (4th) bike when Yamaha releases the R9.
Definitely looking into one but my girl doesn’t want me to get one
Aren't you forgetting the XSR700?
I put the R7 on the bottom of my list of bikes I've ridden. For me it felt very small in cockpit, which is crazy because I found like the r6 and s1000rr way more comfortable. It's also "slow", so I was miserable riding around cramped and going nowhere fast. To each their own, people love the platform and it looks great, but hard pass for me.
fight the good fight my guy! the r7 is weak and expensive for what it is.
What do you recommend instead. Im looking at getting a new bike (supersport)
100 %. Slow and uncomfortable. If I am going to be uncomfortable, I at least want to be fast.
What about R9?
Should I get R7 or MT-07?
looks amazing. $10,000 for a 74hp bike tho is a hard pass. the Z900 is the same price and has 125hp
Got new one tank doesn't hold much fuel suspension not great and changed the rear sprocket
The 2022 or the 2023
WHAT ABOUT THE STREET TRIPLE AND DAYTONA??????
I am a beginner rider who choose a r7 as my first bike. I have a 2022 60th anniversary but unfortunately at the start of this month i crashed it I was using it to ride to work. in the rain on the way home I came off as I hit gravel that had been washed out from the side of the road which took the back end away from me normally I’d take my car when it rains but my car was away getting work done it’s a great bike but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be riding mine for a good while partially due to needing to save money for new gear and new bike parts to replace my damaged ones. also damaged my collar bone and finger
