Basically, Giyu among Hashira can only get along with those who can get along with everyone like Rengoku, or people with delicate thoughts like Shinobu. For people with more straight minds like Wind are on bad terms with Giyu.

Giyu is the type of person who has nearly no social skills and does not know how to respond properly to others which can cause many misunderstandings, the wording and attitude make some of the actions he took or words he said feel complete different from what he originally means and make other people mad. Like the whole "I am not the same with all of you", he means he is lower than others but it just gives others the feeling that he claims he is greater than all other people. That is why his social relationships are pretty bad.

Rengoku's situation just does not have a chance to win, remember the Upper top 3 is on a different level compared to the Upper 6 to 4? And Upper 5 requires a Hashira to awaken Mark to defeat it, and a Hashira awakens Mark still can't gain much advantage to Upper 4 when there are many Supports. Back when Rengoku fought there is no Mark that could be awakened, and based on previous batter you can already tell against the upper 3 probably would need more than 1 Hashira with awaken mark.
