Every rock band from the 60’s to the 2000’s were better than today as now we have to listen annoying pop music about relationships and not like anti-capitalism/capitalism, social alienation(even though only a few people do this in 2010’s, but its only a few people) and abjection(also a few people does this).

Fetishonyoutube arctic monkeys debut album would sit comfortably with any oasis or blur record. Despite being released in 2006. It completely captured the daily life of kids just out of school at that time. There’s a reason it surpassed definitely, maybe as the fastest selling debut in history.

Whilst the emphasis back in the day was on whether you supported either Blur or Oasis, the reality for me is that they both produced great music and I never took a side. Although, Blur are better, obviously.

It was probably Liam’s fault why they hated each other coz Damon went to a party that Liam threw to congratulate them, and Liam shouted at his face saying “Number 1 Baby!!”. Heard it in a Damon Interview

Ok, since this popped up in my recommended, I need to say this: why are people still interested and heat up about a media stunt which took place 25 years ago? Believe me, it's nothing to do with music, and I don't think they really hated each other. Besides, why should music be a competition? Both bands are great in their own way. I personally am more of a Blur fan, because I find them very interesting both lyrically and musically, and their discography covers an incredibly wide range of genres and emotions; but I still think that Oasis have written some of the greatest, most uplifting anthems, and to see that they truly exude that spontaneous energy themselves is refreshing. So yeah, why not enjoy both? It's okay if you like either of the two as well, you just don't need to put down the other one just because they aren't of your taste. It was the tabloids who insisted on this rivalry, and people fell for it. Wake up guys, it's over, it's not 1995 anymore

Blur keeps exploring music with trying different guitar techs and genres which has resulted in them being well-acclaimed by people and critics while Oasis never put out anything better than mediocre after the first two album, was on downward spiral musically and critically, and finally disbanded. Who won the whole campaign? It really goes without saying.

Nathan Ieong thats a personal opinion. But their is no denying that Oasis played the biggest gigs in British history, cracked America and played mtv unplugged. In this years greatest British songs list voted by the public, 4 of the top ten songs were Oasis. Many young kids try to act and dress like Liam Gallagher but none of them like Damon Albarn. You might prefer Blurs music but there is no denying that Oasis were/are the more popular and famous band.
