huge Oasis fan here. Could not care less if they come back or not. It's not Gun ''n Roses breaking up on the height of their popularity that left fans claiming for a return for decades.
Oasis had pretty much run its course when they split. Liam's voice was busted, Noel wasn't writing those rockers anymore, so whatever. We have their first 3 or 4 albums that are classics and some other good later ones. I can live with that.

Fastest selling debut album ever, fastesr selling album ever, biggest concert in the UK ever staged, they sold 22m copies if their second album, they were in the papers everyday for something, had 8 UK number 1 singles, and 6 UK number 2 singles.... I'd say they were the Beatles success wise of their time
I recall reading a comment in the past: “If one of them dies, the other one will spend the rest of his remaining life in regret for not being more amicable”, or something.
Look, Oasis is probably never going to get back together again, and we must accept it. Liam seems fine with seeing his brother again, even if he still exchanged jabs. But remember that Liam is still a very chaotic and unpredictable person who tends to turn on a dime.
Noel, though? He’s a genius. And we’re all grateful for what he’s done. But he’s old, bitter and was always a spiteful man (though I am aware of his abusive upbringing). He’s always been obsessed with being the “greatest”, constantly comparing himself to other bands, yet having the spotlight constantly stolen by Liam would’ve also contributed to his suppressed anger (ironic). You can only imagine how frustrating it is to keep your younger brother in check all the time.
So in short, almost certainly no.
I agree with most of what you’ve said here, but I don’t think Noel’s bitter at all. I just think he’s the kind of guy that says when it’s over, it’s over. What people don’t understand is what it must be like to work with Liam when Liam’s your brother. Brothers tend to be able to say and do things to each other that no one else can do or would do to each other. Noel simply couldn’t imagine working with his brother for the second half of his career. He wants peace and that’s simply not possible with Liam. He wanted to grow up and Liam wants to stay in 1996. Liam probably treats no one the way he treats Noel and vice versa so it had to break and when your bond is music, I can see why they don’t speak anymore. It wasn’t like they were close before Oasis.
I wouldn’t describe Liam as Chaotic and Unpredictable these days, He has mellowed & grown as a person over the last few years since the bands split. Part of that i would credit to his partner Debbie.
@@rkid727 i very agree on what you said about Liam wanted to stay in 1996 but Noel wanted to grow up. It’s heartbreaking to hear that cus I also have the same feeling as Liam. I want them to stay in 94-97 but at the same time, I also know Noel had put up a lot with Liam. So i understand Noel’s decision

It's coming up for 15 years in late August since Oasis split up, and since then there's been an empty void - there hasn't been one British rock band that has been able to fill that as successfully as they did ever since. Not in the 2010s and certainly not in this decade. Maybe Oasis really were the last great rock 'n' roll band.

To be honest, Oasis ending was a blessing in disguise for Liam. He cleaned up his act. He took care of himself and his voice way more than he ever did during his Oasis years. In Oasis, he could be unprofessional and miss gigs or his voice could sound like Kermit the frog because he knew Noel would take on the slack. Once he realise that protection was no longer there, he cleaned up his act faster than the speed of light.
If I am Noel I would be very skeptical and hesitant to get back to that life and that constant battle with Liam. Its tiring. Not to mention some of the unsavory and immature things that Liam said about Noel and his family. One day Liam wants the reunion, another day he does not. Why would Noel would want to deal with somebody like that? For me, they should find a way to become brothers again for the sake of their mother. The band comes way later down the list.
Oasis and Verve need to reunite and go on a world tour together and make billions of dollars and make millions of people happy.
I think they will reunite one day. Liam has been trying to do it for the definitely maybe tour.
I think both of them want to make Oasis happen again but just that even thinking of quarrelling again in the same space, it just scare them off. Let alone neither of them would take the first step to contact the other. You know, man’s pride and ego, especially a man like Liam and Noel

For us in the UK from council estates, Oasis were us and we were them. US music fans may say the same about Nirvana or other bands, but at that time in the UK, everything clicked; music, film, fashion etc all collided into this 2nd summer of love almost in 1996 - Oasis were a band for and of the people, where we could just go to a gig and not have to worry about a thing, all inclusive, signing along to these songs.... but brothers will be brothers, which was part of the charm of Oasis
I’m afraid there’s zero chance of Noel going on tour with Liam again. 15 years have passed since the split and oasis were only around for the previous 15 years. Not a chance Noel doesn’t need it he’s got Gem Chris Sharrock basically the Oasis lineup except Liam, he has his own Studio and ways of working and there’s clearly no reason why Noel would put himself through the chaos again. Remember they’ve never actually spoken for a decade now not even met each other’s youngest nephew’s no contact no Oasis. Let’s just enjoy the music created by both brothers and hopefully the first step is they can manage to get to a stage where they can be able to have a relationship and then maybe they could do something but not when they’re not even close enough to talk to one another. ✌️👊✌️
In an article somewhere it was mentioned that they actually bumped into each other after City winning the league title 10 years ago

As Noel himself has said, Liam is a dog and Noel is a cat. They are fundamentally different. It’s the blessing & the curse of their musical partnership.
And now they’re in very different stages. Noel has (to the chagrin of the parka wearing crowd) matured while Liam is as immature now as he was in 1996.
If you grew up with an older brother or younger brother (doesn't really matter) who runs over everything you ever do or did by just being better or slightly better at everything important to you - then the seeds of envy, jealousy, and hate are planted. It's impossible to get over and can never be put aside.

All you need to do is watch any interview with either of them post-breakup.
Noel is pretty much always happy and at peace, while Liam is generally still an angry, bitter teenager.
It’s a shame. I still think Liam has the better voice, but Noel is obviously the better writer.
They truly had something great together.
Watch Liam at the infamous Unplugged event. Then imagine being stuck on a bus with him for weeks on end. I'd have split the band up years ago.
Exactly. I don't think Noel is a perfect person by any means, but Liam at about age 35 became the antagonist.. And he still is. Noel knew it was time to mature personally & musically. Its sad Liam can't understand. He treats everyone besides Noel like gold and including Dave Grohl, everyone thinks he's a breeze to be in a band with, then he craps on Noel. I'd love to see them happy together, but a reunion would almost certainly not have the spirit of Oasis that we remember. They were once a mighty band and if they can't 100% recapture that, better leave it alone
Noel has since changed his story about the incident that led to the breakup. He now admits it was he who acted like a dick to Liam for quite a while and it came to head that night.
He just wanted to go solo. Problem is, it was Liam’s voice that made Oasis and Noel’s songs sound that much bigger.

@@jumpboy29 oh, geez, I’ve listened to and read so many interviews over the years. I know there is one from last year that I read. If you search “Noel Gallagher opens up about Oasis breakup” you can probably find it.

Noel is very happy doing his own thing, Liam is desperate for the reunion and Noel loves that he can deny it. I hope they don’t get back together because their legacy is better for it.

They cancelled the V Festival show in Chelmsford, Essex. They played at V Festival, Staffordshire, which was also their last gig that they played before breaking up.

Not everyone is a longtime fan of their music or were born/old enough to know what happened. We do not all possess the same amount of knowledge. This information is quite new and intriguing to me and likely some others.

Definitely cannot see Oasis reunion on the cards but they'll definitely perform together again and guest on one or the others songs.. Maybe Liam will get the Friday night slot at next years Glastonbury and bring Noel out for Acquiesce... Been bigger fallouts in Music folklore and hatchets buried. 2025 Gallagher Olive Branch.
I want them to create a bookend of two new studio albums to rival the first two.

I don’t want them to reunite. I saw them four on their first four albums tours, what would be the point? They don’t need the money. It’s just young kids with no one else to look up to who want it.
There are millions of people who didn't get the opportunity to see them live who would love to, if the band reunited it would be great for those who missed out the first go round

You forgot to mention that Noel did leave the band briefly & was replaced by another guitarist. But Noel came back & kept it going before finally leaving in 2009.
As long as Noel was young he had the energy to put up with Liam's antics. But once you hit 40 you realize that you aint gonna live forever and you really want more peace and tranquility in your life and want order.

Liam is Liam and althought he is cool and iteresting in short bursts- living and working with him is another thing and I thing its not fun at all. I dont think anyone who knows him very well said that he is a wonderful human being. They always have to bite their tongue not to say somethinig bad about him.
Liam is just like many people I know. They dont have an empathy switch and they dont care how their actions impact others. Im not saying that makes him evil- but its not easy. You could see from the countless interviews that Liam was the problem.

I saw oasis a couple of times back in the day I also wore flared jeans watching the roses at the hacienda but I don't still think it's 1989. There's some great music now

Noel says it in the documentary the spark between them that made them so popular is also what drove the band in the ground in the end. My thing as a longtime fan is I hope that they are still brothers and talk, but I just cant believe they do. Ones just as stubborn as the other.

Morning Glory was the worlds best selling rock album of 1995. Wonderwall was the first tune from the 90's to break 1 billion streams on Spotify. Liam has just finished a sell out tour of Definitely Maybe.
