You know given she was Very sick at the time of this Performance and had been told by Doctors Not to Sing.
She came out and does this....I am so Happy that in doing this that night did not end her Singing career. But I
think She was well aware of it so held back the just a little bit....and Still Did This.... The average artist would have
stayed home.....BUT Kim, So Hyang Is a Treasure Beyond Words in her words

Yeah, let Sohyang raised up all our spirits. No matter how high is the sun or scorching the heat, Sohyang's chilled voice can calm and appease our frazzled spirit before it sends us to cloud nine above all.
A masterpiece of an arrangement (she does her own); add her incredible vocals and it makes this an epic performance. What's more incredible is that she was actually recovering from pneumonia when she performed this. Thank you for the reaction. Keep them coming.

This was the first Sohyang video that popped up on my feed. I have a musical background, but even I had to watch this 2 or 3 times before I fully understood everything that she did with this arrangement. I didn't find out until later on that she was sick during this performance, which makes what she did here even more amazing.
Thank you for sharing~ She was in extremely bad shape on the stage, so there was no way to get this performance of extreme difficulty done, without God raising her up. So the performance was actually her testimony, and that's why it has so much impact. She's such an inspiration💖.

The EXTRAORDINARY So Hyang performed 'Hug Me', on King Of The Mask Singer, as well at the DMC Festival.
Both performances were JAW DROPPING, and mirrored each other.
The difference, at the DMC Festival, she looked sick, and she was sitting down. Once again, she had just been released from the hospital after a bout with pneumonia (don't know if it was before or after this performance). Proof that her vocal technique is FLAWLESS and EFFORTLESS, even in sickness.

In case you're not aware, the PHENOMENAL So Hyang was not well, still recovering from one of her many bouts with pneumonia, at the time of this performance.
If I'm not mistaken, I read she had just been released from the hospital, and advised by her doctor to not sing, and to just rest. This AMAZING woman SLAYS every performance.

A comment on another reactors site indicated one change So Hyang made as a result of being sick, she used her falsetto, instead of belting.

This master class performance from the extraordinary So Hyang is even more impressive given the fact that she IS NOT well here. Some time prior to this event, So Hyang was released from the hospital, still recovering from her latest bout with severe pneumonia (eight times between 2016 - 2020). Her doctors advised her to cancel, to not talk, and to just rest. At the same time, she was experiencing vocal cord issues. So Hyang did not want to disappoint the audience. Furthermore, she believed her singing career was over and wanted to sing one last time. Afterward, she was readmitted to the hospital. So Hyang disappeared from public singing for nearly two years.
She returned in 2020, proving that her vocal technique is rock solid. Fast forward to 2024, her range is still ridiculous, and her breath control remains insane.
