Sometime you should try the Swedish fire log method for a campfire, it's also a good way to cook using a campfire. If you are not familiar with the Swedish fire method try looking up "How to make a Swedish fire log", our camping group builds campfires quite often this way.

Lots flies = true Australian experience 🤣
The feral Camel droppings will definitely be a contributor to the flies, and they destroy the bush.

Hey, that was me at 18:00 in the Landcruiser. Was a real treat seeing the mog. I did a double take, and then the moment I realised it was the mog that I've been watching the build-up on youtube. My UHF died at the start of the trip, so missed all the oncoming calls. That just made the surprise bigger. Cheers Craig

Here's a tip for Cooking-over-coals fire set-up... Chris, try a Top-down fire... tinder, kindling, medium, heavy on the bottom. That way you never have to keep fire watching and keep adding wood. Just wait for the fire to burn down to coals. Give it a go... cheers, Daz

The range of your uhf if its a 6 db antenna on flat country can be line of sight or up to 50km plus if no hills in the way. But if in hilly terrain switch out aerial for a 3db as it will work better in mountain areas. How was your fuel consumption crossing the desert 🏜? Thanks for sharing your adventures 😀.

FOR future reference when doing any repair work especially tyres go and get yourself a plastic container of (never seize) and every night and bolts and screws put never seize on them. That way they will not rust or seize up. And everytime you change your tyre always put a small amount of never seize as you can never have too much.
