I prefer the new series. Hardy was often 'over the top' with his hectoring. It went on for two series too many and it became just the same old dialogue. Just another arm up a cow from the vets and ''Dinners ready James'' was all we got from the old Helen.. This is a fresher script as it diverts from the Herriot books although I think the author initially forbade Hardy and co. from altering his own story lines. Look forwards to series 3...

Judging just from this clip, this Siegfried is much milder than the original actor, Robert Hardy.
