my school was weird because those cool science projects that everyone knows about did happen, but arbitrarily not for every class.
It's very annoying to be in a classroom where the teacher points out all the cool student-made things on the shelves, but you never get to do that project.

Random trivia about the Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst Spider-Man upside down kiss: They've both said it was super cold and miserable filming that scene, Tobey especially since he was hanging upside down with blood rushing to his head...and also nearly suffocating since his mask was wet and super hard to breathe through.
In school ours were dropped from the top of the gym. We were only allowed to use napkins, plastic straws, and masking tape. Miraculously, at least half of the class' eggs survived.
If you did it as part of science Olympiad kids started getting so good at it that they actually had to make it much harder so what you would do ahead of time is figure out really good methods of protecting it and understand the physics behind protecting it and then when you got there they give you hardly any materials at all that you could use and you'd have to figure out how that was possible to be used to protect it because they would have taken a design that was minimalistic that they knew worked,taken it apart and giving it to you as raw pieces.
The Yaoi paddle is like the chaos emeralds. It’s critical to the plot and lore of 10 mph.
I love that Arin really cares and is in huge concentration wanting this to work and Dan is more along for the ride. Dan doesn't really care about the project, taking "easy" ways out as opposed to doing rocket science like Arin. Its fun nonetheless, but i just like witnessing Arin's brain really working and evaluating the work he's doing

I remember doing this in school. I also remember making 2 liter soda bottle rockets. There was also a weird time before school let out for the summer where my school certified all the students in a boater safety and operation course. So at one point, in like 8th grade, I was licensed for operating a boat. Public education is wild.
I remember in one of our science classes in midddle school I brought in my 3 foot tall model rocket. We all gathered around on the football field to watch, and as I launched it, one of the guide tubes broke. The rocket got stuck on the launcher, and melted a hole in the bottom plate. Luckily I had also brought a smaller rocket that launched perfectly.
This seems a lot more fun when your on a comedy show where your expected to fail and people laughing at you is a good thing, compared to a physics class and failure leads to further anxiety and stress when everyone laughs at you and you spend the next several nights hearing everyone’s laughter at you thinking you had a chance of doing something right for once. Or is that just me

One day a random child performing this same class project will invent a device that allows you to fall at near terminal velocity, and guides your decent at such an angle so as to redirect all inertia to be parallels to the ground. Rather than impact, the module begins to roll upon contact with the ground.

I remember doing this when I was a teacher aide but with marshmallows. I built a craft that was dropped from 3 storeys high, and the marshmallow didn't fall out on the landing. I was pretty happy with it, and the kids thought it was the coolest invention ever
I remember doing this project in school! My team filled a tupperware container with popcorn, taped straws on the bottom to absorb shock, and used a bit of a plastic tablecloth to create a parachute. It was one of the most simple ones out off all the teams (the entire 7th grade of the school) and ours won
I doubt many will care about this, but as someone with an audio processing disorder, whoever does the captions deserves a RAISE! I get so tired of the auto-generated text that I genuinely got excited when I realized that the captions were actually accurate 😊
