when us perrcussionists in the back read "add as many shakers/gourds as possible" we thought "I accept this challenge!" So now when we play it I hold two shakers, someone else holds two shakers, someone holds maracas, and someone holds the beaded gourd when he's not smashing cymbals and it sounds amazing
for the solo part earlier today, our band teachers decided that other people (non-percussionists) would have shakers while we focus on the solo, so now one of us percussion plays 2 (i forgor the instrument but the bottom line on the bongo sheet) and i play that for the entire thing
MH4U25 yeah bassoon is AMAZING, from the low parts even though you can play high, the high parts even though you can play low, and we can’t forget the rests. but at least we get to be friends with the trombones
I play alto for this and it's awesome! My band is playing this for our band concert in December. And at the percussion break at measure 73 (the music sheet is a one pager), I'm resting for 16 measures. I could've gotten a nap in before coming back in.
We are about to play this in our band concert on December 11 😁 I used to have trumpet 2 and I was good at it but I wanted to switch to trumpet 1 so I got that now and it’s still a work in progress
I played timpani for this and my eyes and wrist still hurt, and when I tell u my band director wanted me to be WAY more louder than it already is for timpani, well I had to, and um I was really nervous cuz the whole band and audience was looking at me and percussion and I felt myself sweating on my hands and I was like "NO not TODAY HONEY" in the end i made them notes, crescendos and decrescendos the way my director told me to :')
I play flute and I’m so glad we get a kinda main part where no other instruments are louder than us and you can actually here us I’m so happy to play this for our band Christmas concert!!!
I played this a year ago and I play percussion and I had to play the Timpani for this song and all Im going to say is that I nailed it and we got first place 😮💨
My school used to play this song at every Christmas concert. The timpani part was always the highlight of it. The girl that played it every year lived for it and she absolutely nailed it every time.
played this along time ago i played trumpet i remember at the start counting god knows how long with 6 other people brings back some really good memories loved playing first trumpet
We are going to be playing this in band 3 soon in the winter.. i play flute and two other but they don't want to do anything hard but i can't wait (ToT) .....(..)
BRO I WAS GOING TO PLAY THIS SONG ON SHAKERS(Percussion🥁) BUT WE WERE TAKING TOO LONG ON ANOTHER SONG WE WERE PLAYING SO NOW WE HAVE TO PLAY HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY CHRISTMAS 😭😭😭😭
🎺🎺Hey, if you think trumpet 1's notes are high, try playing a high G above the staff. Not to mention in my band, there are only 3 trumpets, I am the only first, and the other are trumpet 2. So instead of fortissimo, it's fortississimo. Now THAT is a real challenge.🎺🎺
ah yes... welcome to death where the trumpetests have to play high high c in whole notes for 3 measures... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
This conga part is 👌👌👌👌 My band director doesn’t know squat about percussion so she gave me (the best percussion) the timpani part and gave some average player who does band just because “it’s easy” the conga part and we’re good friends so we just switched and she doesn’t even care.
hello there, i dont mean to force my religion on you at all. but Jesus is the messiah. he is the lord and savior of the world. please turn to him and repent from your sins! let's worship the Lord together!! Amen! Glory to the Lord almighty
Director: Okay French Horns, this is your solo.
Me: It’s not a solo if everyone else is playing :^)
I'm a French horn player :3

So now when we play it I hold two shakers, someone else holds two shakers, someone holds maracas, and someone holds the beaded gourd when he's not smashing cymbals and it sounds amazing
We sadly only have 4 shakers
I ended up being the only one to add shakers. The rest of them just played the whole song
@@whyrwehere I tried to add my self in but... nope
for the solo part earlier today, our band teachers decided that other people (non-percussionists) would have shakers while we focus on the solo, so now one of us percussion plays 2 (i forgor the instrument but the bottom line on the bongo sheet) and i play that for the entire thing
Yes 🤣 I play the beaded gourd!
Every band has to play this song.
I play the flute for this and I'm both excited and nervous.
Taylor Draws same
So easy tho
It is now. But when I first started it was hard
Taylor Draws Sameth whens your concert

I play the conga on this song and my hands still hurt
SpiceRice my friend plays conga on this, i play djembe
@@america6061 the djembe pretty cool

i play the conga too, my hands are still red an hour after class
@@america6061 same
I guess I'll take my 20 measures of rest. Screw it, bassoon is just fun.
Oboe is fun too, it has the same part the whole song, same rhythm and everything
MH4U25 yeah bassoon is AMAZING, from the low parts even though you can play high, the high parts even though you can play low, and we can’t forget the rests. but at least we get to be friends with the trombones
I've got 32 -Trumpet
the bassoon in this song is genuinely hot though
@@novemberiscoolithink yes it is cuz i play it
I’m in percussion and I got the conga part. I’m so excited to play this in our December concert 😁
Me too, trying to make the solo sound a lil cooler than what’s written lol

It’s almost time

@@bkhwks7713 I play it on Monday for our concert

I play alto too with my friend it is so fun!
I guess I’m late here but I play an alto saxophone as well playing in three weeks, not much time to memorize everything
Alto Sax Here: I remember waiting 25 Measures just to start
Alto Sax 4life. I’m learning this song rn. Pretty cool we’re gonna play it soon at a concert (I think)
Fr, 25 measures. Then another 16 between measures 73-89
So many high notes for French horn and trumpets but super easy for trombones
Actually, the highest for horn is an F, which is not extremely hard.
Nate Cason The highest possible note on horn is C (Above the staff)
The highest note on the trumpet in this song is an E in the staff, it's not really that high in my opinion
This trumpet part is ez pz E is not high
Lies. I can get my French Horn to High D
Does anybody else have chills
I can't be the only one fingering the notes as the song plays
I play alto for this and it's awesome! My band is playing this for our band concert in December. And at the percussion break at measure 73 (the music sheet is a one pager), I'm resting for 16 measures. I could've gotten a nap in before coming back in.
Lmao kinda cool that we all learned the same music
We’re playing this for our December concert and it’s easy for my trombone part, but the trumpets keep rushing during rehearsals
Yoshii Girl 11 yup same
bruh same for me
The trumpets in my band kept missing their entrance.
It's hard for trumpets to not rush tbh if u saw our part you would understand. I'm a Trumpet and it's hard for me not to rush and I'm first chair.
@@shea761 ah, i see. for my part it was like 3 half notes in a row and then whole notes over and over, but i understand now
Whoever came up with this is a genius. Adding an African intro makes it African I guess
And it makes it better
The toms are the real stars of this piece!
Congas*
Im playing this at my Christmas concert and I play congas in this song and I love the song!
I’m playing the flute for this song, I’m obsessed with it
