100% Works!! I was having issues for 4 weeks with 30-90 fps on all maps no matter what the settings were. Specs: R5 2600, RX 6600XT, 32GB, 1TB NVMe I used DDU to uninstall all GPU drivers and reinstalled as show in the video. Hopped into a casual and have 140+ FPS with the occasional drop to 90. I am so grateful for this guide as I was about to buy a whole upgrade kit and probably would have been stuck with the same issue.

Wow man i even noticed that my pc even became faster at some tasks after downloading the WHQL version at minimal, i think i had that one on full install which apparently as you say the recording stuff fucked up and produced low fps. There can be a bunch of stuff that makes your game lag. 1: The amount of RAM you have. 2: Is the game on a hard drive, or SSD? 3: Try to run the game in -Vulkan mode.

@@Cinarbayramic FSR might work with lower end cards, but in most cases the issues are with CPU bottlenecks, so then FSR will do nothing as its a setting made to reduce the load on Graphics cards. HDR might be an issue, but you can't turn it off. Only set it on Performance mode, which isn't off.

It's nuts that this even needs to be a video, installing stable GPU drivers is literally common sense, the basic drivers won't make proper use of your GPU
Well, that is true, but also not. It might be common sense to you, but unless you can magically think for any of the other 1+ million CS2 players, I don't think you have the right to say that.
That makes it all the much worse. I personally know a LOT of PC gamers that don't really know how software works, much less drivers. This video helps people who might not know that drivers can, in fact, also hurt your performance of CS2, as the full drivers, with the built in recording software (That is always running in the background) can take up some of your frames, and that the minimal install have most of the REALLY necessary features that you need, while taking away the ones that you might not need. Thus freeing up some of that important performance. It's more a CS2 issue than a driver issue. The game needs to be better optimized for all systems.
To be fair, I get what you are trying to say. It's just not applicable for every person who clicks on this video. If you scroll through the comments, you will see that it actually helps a lot of people.
i have rx 580 8gb 256bit, and cpu r5 1600x 3.90 (oc) and i have on low 260-290, max settings 115-130 fps, (btw i done a lot windown optimisation) ( no oc the GPU it is default)

Hey! When you start your driver installation, you will get an option where you can choose between full installation, minimal install, or driver only. If you choose minimal or driver only, you won't have the record option.
i was confused as well why getting 90 fps minimum when in csgo had 240 minimum waht helped me was added -vulkan in launch options t ouse vulkan api, and it went from 90 fps minimum to 170 minimum lol but lag spikes many, still trying to solve that.

So, the version that I showed in the video is a minimal install. That only installs the absolutely necessary parts of the driver. It should work, but if it does not, I'm releasing a new video today explaining what might be the problem with a lot of systems.

Never mind, I'm dumb. The rx 580 doesn't have FMF. Have you tried capping the game's FPS to something like 165? That might help a bit with input latency. Also, there are some known issues with older AMD cards where some settings can wreck your input latency. Let me see what I can find.

lol u show ur fps on dust 2 (120fps) and after install 24.1.1 u got 140 on nuke man ... by default on nuke u got 20-50 fps more than others map like dd2 mirage, infernoo, ancient, because nuke is square map and does not have as many details as others.... a useless film. and the second thing. Today I uninstalled 24.1.1 and installed the much older one, 23.5.2 and it's good but not the best... in my case rx580 8gb driver 24.1.1 stock and mod(ri-d) lagging on cs2 ::)
I don't believe that the overclocking/undervolting settings are available on minimal install, but you can just reinstall the full version if you want it back
Yep,l honestly, went through. Lot of tutorials. Felt there was for sure more frames to be had, I was averaging 220-240 with lows of 180-190, I reinstalled drivers with minimum settings and am now averaging 270-300 fps with lows of 230 and highs of 325 where as before I wouldn’t even hit 300. Your CPU is holding you back, my friend also has the R5 3600 and he gets like 180-190 fps at most in competitive. Deatchmatch is busy, so bad frames.

the drops after your video are still from 170 to 90, I don't know what the problem is.
Are there any other programs open in the background that might be hogging your performance? And have you done a virus check recently?

It can help with APUs like the 5600g. However, that APU might not see a massive difference in a game like CS2.

Cs2 does weird stuff in casual maps. I think it's because it still needed to render a bunch of stuff, and I was recording, which cs2 doesn't like.
