My cat was blind and deaf toward the end. I had to leave him in the vet for a week. It tore me apart that he was not home. I ask the vet can I visit him after work. The vet open the cage...he nearly fell out the cage to come to me. Literally both me and the vet were not expecting him to run so fast to me.❤❤❤❤❤
I stay with my parents now (we're all retired). I went to visit my old friends out west for 2 months. Upon my return, the old black male cat (who never looked at me twice before) met me at the door and vocalized, loudly, that I was never to do that again. He was highly affectionate to me after that, until he died. They remember.

When I accidentally step or trip on any of my fur children I immediately get down on the floor and petting hugging apologizing in the baby talk and so far my babies know I didn’t mean it. My sister, my only sibling passed 18 minutes before my birthday March 2014 and her cat was so distraught and depressed and sad. We tried every thing to try and make her better and happy. I am so much like my sister that she would only respond to me and my nephew. I left for 20 minutes to drop off my nephew at school and some how she got out ( she some how got a 2 inch open window to 7 inch and knocked out the screen…. Unfortunately not having any knowledge of the outside she wS hit by a car. The young lady who hit her stayed with her till I got back. Her and I cried. The young lady knew my sister and cat so she knew…. She paid for her to be euthanized and cremated. I appreciated her honesty and heart. I let her have some of Shala’s ashes and she had a necklace made…. Animals are a great gift from the Lord and we should appreciate them more then most people do
Pepper was sleeping in my lap with I scared him with my squirrel quack and hand jolt. Pepper was pissed. Later Pepper jumped in my lap all muddy and wet. Twice over. Yeah, he got me back. They remember.
I had a cat that was so annoyed that I left on a trip for a week that she shat all over the bed. I had someone visit her every other day to ensure she was fed, the litter box was clean, and she had some company. Nope! It did not help. She was a newly (6 months) adopted cat and the shelter said I could return the cat if there were any problems. She must have had some abandonment issues with a previous owner.
they are not people, they don't poop to get revenge, it's a territorial mark they're making when they're threatened, probably afraid of caretaker they know isn't you...
Of course cats remember you. My dad's cat recognizes me in seconds, and I only go there every couple of months.
