Yknow, one of the most strange things I've always thought about Childe's story is how he just happened to fall into a hole after being lost in a snowstorm. Like this could have happened to anyone else, why Childe? I later looked up that he was chased by bears and wolf packs, basically into the hole, and now I'm, wondering... Maybe Skirk Called him down there? Like out in the snow, you have this kid get chased by wild animals down into the abyss so his ancestors can teach him the way of combat? I think this analysis provides us with a lot more information to base our theories off of. (Skirk borrowing her ol' pal R's wolf creations to chase a child into the abyss, anyone?)
After learning scaramouche's full story I always wondered if some of the fatuui members were made and not recruited. So my theory was he was pushed but now it does seem like he was lured there. I wonder how long we'll need to wait to get more of his story 😭
I used to think that he uses Mondstadt books and Liyue starconches because when he came out, Mond and Liyue were the only two nations released so what else were they going to do? This theory is much more fun, though! Headcanon accepted! 😊
So does that mean that Paimon and the traveler when trying to hide Childe's identity accidentally revealed his origins Instead? Completely by accident that is Paimon's imagination To those who are confused after reading this😅😅 I'm referring to the Shiki taishou event in 2.2. In the story of the event when Xinyan questions the traveler about how they know Childe, Paimon and Traveler make up a story of Childe being a "Mondstadt adventurer who is prone to danger" @Ashikai loved the video 👍👍 Would love to see more of such character analysis and inspiration analysis every once in a while if not regularly
That was pretty funny ngl, i liked that event. Meeting the dude in Liyue, hails from Snezh, prances around in countries, and now if he was Mondstadt born? Truly Mr. Worldwide.
I used to not like Childe much, but my appreciation of his character and potential allusions and inspirations have grown tenfold now! Thank you, as usual, for the delicious food of thought.
I have never heard Scathach pronounced like that, it's normally Sca-hawk because Gaelic doesn't care how something is written, it will be spoken however it wants
Yeah the pronunciation was a bit weird, though about how Gaelic words are pronounced, if you know a bit of Irish or other Gaelic languages the rules of pronouncing things aren't too difficult just different from English
Childe having inspirations from Cú Chulainn and Scathach, two iconic Fate Lancers, gave me so much joy as a lot of the playerbase has been saying that Childe is a Fate Archer bec of his kit 🤣 But back to Childe's connection to Parsifal, maybe bec it's common knowledge, but it wasn't mentioned in the vid that Osial, who Childe summoned in the Archon quest, is a sea monster with tentacles, so more kraken reference?
Never thought I'd see the day that Cu Chulainn would be mentioned in a Genshin theory... he really is similar to Childe, since he abandoned his old name (Setanta) after killing a beast (it was a dog, but still). Also, as far as I remember, he used a hurley to kill the dog, maybe Ajax used something similar to kill an abyss monster?
I saw lore about my favourite character and I had to click on it. AND OMG! I'm so happy finally the connections between Childe and Mondstadt is being explored. Thank you so much Ashikai! Edit: 11:07 When Enka first dropped I could not stop thinking about how eerily similar the broken stone spears looked to Childe's hydro spear. I ruled it out as something maybe related to what Skirk taught him, but finally after nearly a year, my question has been answered. I feel satiated.
Yk the funny thing was when I first started playing Genshin, I literally knew nothing about the game. So the first time I heard of Childe was by that one Fatui Dude in Mondstadt. Because of the name 'Childe', which means Young Master, and because I didn't know that the fatui were some other organization from Snezhnaya, I thought Childe was an important and greatly revered young master from Mondstadt nobility and that he was one of the knights (the best one too 💀😅)
I always assumed Childe took Freedom books as of the six ideals that existed at the time of his release, that one fit his personality the best. This version is much better. You've convinced me :). I wonder if Circe's story and the story of the Blue-Eyes-Spear-Witch parallel each other any....
I’m not gonna lie the pronunciation in the video killed me. I do quite like the idea that childe is descended from Parcifal though. Makes sense given the artwork. It is still very strange to equate the descendant of arthurian Percival with ulster cycle Cu Chulainn though. I don’t think the analogy fits very well. Cu and Childe don’t really fit together that well. There were a bunch of heroes with transformative berserk modes. Also foul transformation and Cu’s warp spasms don’t fit together that well. Also Gae Bulg was a barbed spear, not a hooked spear. It was also launched by the foot and not the hand. Childe uses it in his hand and specifically with his delusion and not his vision. So I don’t think Cu was the prime inspiration for Childe. Though his teacher being inspired by scathach isn’t that surprising, as she’s one of the coolest warrior women in all of mythology.
It's not so strange as you think. In reality Arthurian legends and Germanic and Celtic mythologies have many similarities/common themes. Just look at Morgan le Fay and Morrigan, Arthur and Siegfried for exemple.
Finally a sane and reasonable comment on this video. I just scrolled down to see if anyone actually realized how off all her assertions were. She is gonna combine all of south east asian and south asian mythology into one giant coagulation with the way she equates one myth to another.
@@mizuhashitsunokaI mean Hoyoverse used that exact approach for the entirety of Sumeru's lore, like really mixing Buddhist, Iranian, and Egyptian legends that have little to do with each other. And everyone agrees Mondstadt is like based on German and Old Norse legends but Venti himself is based on the Greco-Roman wind gods. Pretty much all of Teyvat is a mishmash of different mythologies. Compared to all that, connecting Childe with Cu Chulainn isn't so far off. And if I'm remembering correctly, wasn't Cu Chulainn's spear made from sea monster bone? There's another Childe parallel for ya.
Parsifal could also be Cu Chulainn. In the legends, he makes a deal with Scathach twin sister Aife to spare her life in exchange for her leaving Scathach alone and bearing him a child. That could explain how Childe is both related to the Blue Eyed Witch and Parsifal, and there being no record of Blue Eyed Witch meeting Parsifal after the second time.
Childe is a walking Fate reference. He's an archer that doesn't use his bow most of the time. He's a reference to Cu Chulainn as well. That red hair? Doesn't that remind you of Shirou? Case closed.
The fact that he can form any weapon (and use them well) out of water doens't stop the analogy. Now he'd just need to go fight Teyvats equivalent of Kirei or Gilgamesh. :D
I am always amazed about all the things that Ashikai manages to pull out of and put into Genshin's lore. There is so much depth, so many references and quite a few things will probably turn out right... I love it.
I have a fun bit to add to the theory that makes it even funnier to me. The place were Scathach taught these Irish heroes is Dun Scaith, which (according to Wikipedia anyway) is also known as the Fortress of Shadows. And where to Skirk teach young Ajax? In the Abyss, a place associated with Darkness. Oh and one more fun connection. The Gae Bolg/Bulg is said to be made of bone from a sea monster. which further relates to the Mondstadt Parsifal. Not only that, but being of bone and a sea monster also makes me think of Child's constellation. Monoceros Caeli, a narwhal. In other words a "sea monster" known for its "bone-like" horn (Incorrectly so, since it's actually a tooth.) Very loose connections, but very fun coincidences to throw into this soup of a Childe theory!
It'd be interesting if this theory turns out to be true! I hope they give us more Childe content soon. Also, you mentioned Cu Chulainn and Scathach and all the Fate fans came out of their caves to comment lol (I'm also a Fate fan).
As soon as I first heard about Skirk back in 1.1 I immediately imagined her as Scathach from FGO and I'm so glad that I've (probably) been imagining her about right.
I would say it’s bc his books r freedom. Childe is well known to be free to do whatever and go wherever he pleases. He’s a free spirit, but he’s also sworn his life to serving another, so he’ll never really be free

Usually i’d have to do my own research into an abundance of Wikipedia pages when watching Ashikai’s videos But this theory was really easy from beginning to end since i’m a fate fan😅
childe has such weird lore like i read a tweet threat where they pointed out that he also has so many and also very strong ties to enkanomiya as in not only having been there but also his family actually being from enka and im just like...he really is Mr. Worldwide
Correction: Childe had been to Mondstadt before. He was in Dragonspine in one of the EP videos. But great video, holy crap! I've been talking with my friend about how the Heart of Depth artifact is connected to Childe and how the Hex & Hound book is connected to it, too. When I discovered this video, it made me and my friend feel heard! You explained the connections a lot better than we did, and now it's all making a lot more sense to me! I can now refer to this video when I talk about it, thank you so much! 🙏
Pronunciations aside, this is the first time I've ever heard of the Gae Bolg referred to as a harpoon. In the myth it was 'barbed' instead of 'hooked' to cause an enormous amount of pain and not be easily removed from the wound. I'm not saying that calling it a harpoon is wrong in any way but I've never really thought of it as one. It does make some sense.
I was missing childe content earlier and then Ashikai of all people bless us w a banger childe theory thank you childe stans have been w/o content for so long. I love this theory so much
I've know of the Ajax and Cersei (after Hexenzirkel video) connection, I'm also quite fond of Childe's character - such a nice shade of gray. I did not know of Chulainn. That's quite interesting, I have to go read more of it. Yes. I love the character inspiration series (start?). So much potential.
Y'know, this shines a whole different light on that Labyrinth Warriors event scene where Paimon lied to Xinyan by claiming that Childe is an adventurer *_from Mondstadt._* I caught that the "adventurer" part references how he wanted to be an adventurer as a kid, but I wondered why Paimon chose Mondstadt, of all places, to claim that he's from.
about that part, I always thought that because there are only 3 nations we know at that time, and Monstadt is nearer Snezhnaya more than Liyue, so in term of appearance Monstadt and Snezhnaya people should be more similar than Liyue and Snezhnaya
@@MyTAnh-xu6og I suppose, but she really could have just said he was an adventurer who traveled all the way from Snezhnaya. I just think it would be interesting if this theory is true and Paimon saying he's from Mondstadt was a fun little foreshadowing.
It's a cool format! I got gut punched because Cu is my favorite fate/ characters and Childe is a character I really like in Genshin. ...I would say these aren't likely to be related but Fate/Grand Order is the father of modern gacha games and it wouldn't be too farfetched to say they started there (or the original Fate/ Stay Night for that matter), then went back to the source materials for Cu Chulainn. This was an amazing analysis. Dear god.
Oh this was great... yeah he's a son-of-a-witch. Very witty, Ashikai. Enjoyed the new format. Looking forward to new 3.6 Sumeru zone lore!!! I figure another week or so!
Childe was released in 1.1 or 2 so he really was given Mondstadt talent books just to balance the cast. Also, Thoma uses Inazuma books, and Wanderer who still has Inazuman roots, uses Sumerians.
Counter theory as to why Childe uses Mondstat talent books: Coz Mihoyo made the worst talent domain and wanted to punish players who wished for Childe 😅
Please please please make more of these!!! I am especially interested in Yoimiya, cause honestly I don’t really think that she is that simple of a character
When I heard about Skirk my first thought was Scáthach (thanks Fate/GO) and I'm really glad that I'm not the only one, who thinks there may be a connection.
another thing I would like to add on about Childe's connection to the Ulster Cycle is that the Gáe Bulg itself is made from the bone of a sea monster (thus also cementing the connection to water as well)
i'd always assumed the sisters in hex and hound were referring to the raidens: makoto and ei sharing occupancy of the, um, booba-sword, with makoto having revived ei in the past. this video opened a whole new eye to the andersdotter stories :0
Skirk can also be inspired by the Norse Goddess Skadi because Scáthach and the goddess are thought of to have the same origin of inspiration. This would mean that Skirk would not only be an expert in combat and weaponry but might also be able to use runes that are second only from the runes used by Odin.
I loved him already before, now that I watched this video I love him even more, knowing he might be inspired by Cu Chulainn (yes, FGO player here and yes, Cu Chulainn is my fave among all servants
I always thought that he had his talents in monstadt bc snezhaya isn’t out yet and monstadt is close to snezhaya and that the books he needs are called freedom. He looks pretty free to me
Or, or Childe was one of the first characters released in the time we only had Mondstald and Lyue released, and Sneznaya is gonna be out more at the end of the game, so they had to give him some talent books. Still, great video
I mean, this is what I always thought, but they could've given him Liyue talent books, like they do with other characters released in regions different than their own (see Kazuha or Scara). He was not once in Mondstadt (despite his first rerun making us believe he was going to be there lol). It could also be that they were experimenting since he was a really early 5-star, but it's definitely a curious choice they made.
little late to the game, but has anyone pointed out that the blue-eyed witch is probably ivanova of the hexenzirkel? you know, the only witch we know of that seems to have some ties to schnezniya, the russian-based region? and that further inspection shows that her and parcival's doomed love story mirrors that of jason of the argonaughts and princess medea, high priestess of hecete (aka the goddess of witchcraft, and therefore a very powerful witch herself), of greek mythology? i bring this up only cause i literally watched this vid back-to-back of your hexenzirkel rundown, and kinda connected the dots from the small lore-tidbits we have of both parcival and ivanova, and (given your theory craft for nicole) further wondered what that potential mythological connection could tell us about ivanova's possible role both within the zirkel, and within the larger metanarritive for genshin. personally, i think she's playing distraction for the zirkel, since medea was often depicted as dangerously clever, and prone to using deception and distraction to fell her enemies. maybe she's using both herself and possible childe/maybe the fatui as a whole to distract celestia while her sisters work in the shadows she's casting? thoughts?
Loved the theory!! 👏👏 I thought about something during the video, so let me try to explain with my broken english lol Childe uses Mondstadt talent books, so his origin being Mondstadt does make sense. But Thoma and Scaramouche are from Mond and Inazuma respectively, and they use the books from the nation they currently have ties with. So what if Childe still has some connection with Mond that we still don't know about? Honestly, the first thing that came to my mind was Diluc: 1. Both the representation of the HoD tcg card and Diluc have VERY similar clothing (even the drop from that flower and Diluc's red gem). 2. Dragonspine: the only place in Mondstadt that we saw Childe in was Dragonspine and we have the "owls of Dragonspine" lore, which definitely has connections with Diluc and his family. 3. Maybe this one was just a coincidence, but wasn't Childe's constellation supposed to be Noctua, but they changed to be Diluc's? 4. This is more like a personal opinion than theory, but every time Diluc with his alternative skin and Childe are side by side, I can't help but think about how similar they are...
I had a theory that Childe was originally from Mondstadt because of the talent books, but my theory was far more simplistic. It seems the fatui are filling their ranks with orphan children. Specifically orphan children from other nations. It was even hinted at that the fatui might be the ones that made them orphans in the first place. We hear about this recruiting of foreign children first in the Inazuma quest chain about Gendou Ringo's strange fortune slips, and it was mentioned also in the quest chain with a group of fatui during the second appearance of the golden apple archipelago. During this (sadly event locked) quest we found out, that these orphaned children refer to each other as their siblings, which would explain why Tartaglia has "siblings". So I theorized that Childe might very well be one of these orphaned children that were taken in to be made into fatui.
Okay hear me out, that could also VERY well be why Childe in fact has a blonde strand of hair. Another thing to note is that his foul legacy form looks like a seelie so I'm really wondering how that can be connected - but that's just a food for thought lol Childe is pretty interesting lore wise and once we get there - if they ever bother to explain - it's gonna slap harder than his riptide👀
Childe: Greek name along with greek named brother, fell in the abyss, met Skirk, Enkanomiya being based of off greek, has a weapon that looks similar to those in Enkanomiya, polar star weapon, fatui harbinger Her: Mondstadt!
I really like the fact that you take the time to give your videos high quality audio and a good vocal performance, not having to make too many cuts, I can tell when there are too many cuts it’s quite jarring to me, thanks for not putting me through that
This was good! Sometimes I find the spinfoiling to be off-putting, but couching it in talking broadly about the inspirations for a character really helps to ground the theories.
Okay, I need to scream. You cannot start a video about Childe saying he has never been to Mondstadt. Dragonspine is a part of Mondstadt and we know he goes there to remind himself of Snezhnaya because of climate. His artifact set is also located there.
honestly the hair looks more Ragnvindr to me... like Diluc without his ponytail (I know, sacriligeous) but red, fluffy and Mondstadtian does make me think Ragnvindr. The rest however is delightful storytelling, and it would be really fun... and also another member of the Hexenzirkel-students/disciples.
Thank you so much for this! A comment (made by someone maybe during a Genshin stream) from way back referencing Childe as a young noble has been itching at the back of my mind for so long. Now, it finally makes sense!
This just made me think that Childe is Cu and EMIYAs love child I mean, a battle maniac with a love of all things bladed and surprisingly amazing household skills
Abyss herald and lectors are from the Abyss and predate khaenriha. They are not human but like skirk they are from the Abyss. That is why child's foul legacy looks like a herald and not a lector who wield a catalyst weapon as suppose to herald who wield a melee weapon. I think the herald and lector are from a race in Abyss that are like the dragon race who lived a light realm and I think before sun and moon those two realms coexistence was a battle over power and balance like jing and jang. Then came the decend3r or second who came or primordial one and forced the human realm in between them. Something like that.
Talking about "Hound", so this is probably useless information, but since you once talked about Mona and her ability to see the fate from ones constallation. I have a official Mona-Stand from mihoyoverse as a little merchandise. It's a two part stand and it has a ring around Mona in the background that shows...animals, but they remind me of constallations, since there is a lion (Jean's constallation) and a falcon (Diluc's constallation) and a dragon (???) and, well, the a wolf (it looks like one). It's probably just random icons but when you said "hound" and Mondstadt, I noticed my Mona on my desk. 😅 Again, I think it's useless information bc merch probably isn't as deep and they just throw something on it. But the comment at least boosts the algorhythm. 🥰
his hair is known to be rare in snezhnaya, the only ones who have that color is from his hometown. it would be so funny, SO FUNNY, if he and diluc of all people share a common root.
I absolutely love this deep-dive format! If you do consider doing another one in a similar format, one on the Sumeru characters would be super interesting/helpful! As a childe-appreciator already I appreciated this video very much!
So good! 😁 We were throwing around theories like a frenzied pillow fight in the teapot live stream, yet Askikai pulled them together and wove us a Legend.
I love investigating about the inspirations behind characters, no matter if I hate them or love them, and I really hope the best for this new series because I see many interesting things about it and that learning about the inspirations that gave birth to the characters that we enjoy and know. I do remember learning abut the first character's inspiration that pick my interest, the one and only leader of the Royal Knight and aloof hermit, Alphamon. I originally thought that was the result of the many ideas and themes surrounding the RK in Digimon, I never knew that Alphamon took Arthur and Galahad for inspirations.
Wait a blond-haired blue-eyed spearwoman (If Magdalene=Skirk). She could be the Genshin version of Honkai Impacts Durandal. I know that the lances she uses look more like jousting lances instead of Genshins usual polearms, but the ones used in the Dea Anchora battlesuite fit genshins aesthetic.
Please do Zhongli next and highlight his connection to Gungnir and other gods since his stone pillars do have the symbol for Gungnir on them. Both new and old ones in the Chasm.

To those who are confused after reading this😅😅
I'm referring to the Shiki taishou event in 2.2.
In the story of the event when Xinyan questions the traveler about how they know Childe, Paimon and Traveler make up a story of Childe being a "Mondstadt adventurer who is prone to danger"
@Ashikai loved the video 👍👍
Would love to see more of such character analysis and inspiration analysis every once in a while if not regularly
Childe isn’t from Mondstadt
@@jakthesac5175 i never said he was.
That was pretty funny ngl, i liked that event.
Meeting the dude in Liyue, hails from Snezh, prances around in countries, and now if he was Mondstadt born?

Finally, someone noticed the Scathach-Skirk connection! Been playing FGO for a while and my mental image of Skirk is someone like Shishou.
Hopefully as hot as her too loo

Half a later, she is voiced by Shishou. Recognized the voice immediately. Instantly made her a very anticipated character to me.
I used to not like Childe much, but my appreciation of his character and potential allusions and inspirations have grown tenfold now! Thank you, as usual, for the delicious food of thought.
i LOVE how you manage to even discover all of this just because childe uses mondstat book!!! i'm full from all the childe crumbs today🤤
I have never heard Scathach pronounced like that, it's normally Sca-hawk because Gaelic doesn't care how something is written, it will be spoken however it wants
Same, it was kinda weird to hear.
Yeah the pronunciation was a bit weird, though about how Gaelic words are pronounced, if you know a bit of Irish or other Gaelic languages the rules of pronouncing things aren't too difficult just different from English
Childe having inspirations from Cú Chulainn and Scathach, two iconic Fate Lancers, gave me so much joy as a lot of the playerbase has been saying that Childe is a Fate Archer bec of his kit 🤣
But back to Childe's connection to Parsifal, maybe bec it's common knowledge, but it wasn't mentioned in the vid that Osial, who Childe summoned in the Archon quest, is a sea monster with tentacles, so more kraken reference?
Because of the name 'Childe', which means Young Master, and because I didn't know that the fatui were some other organization from Snezhnaya, I thought Childe was an important and greatly revered young master from Mondstadt nobility and that he was one of the knights (the best one too 💀😅)
This is a lot of things but the most important thing is that Genshin took inspiration from EVERYWHERE 😭😭😭😭
Thank you for giving us some Tartaglia content. Sometimes I feel like hoyo forgot about my boy. 😞 I need more Childe lore

I always assumed Childe took Freedom books as of the six ideals that existed at the time of his release, that one fit his personality the best. This version is much better. You've convinced me :). I wonder if Circe's story and the story of the Blue-Eyes-Spear-Witch parallel each other any....
Childe and Xianling: getting to choose from multiple sets and weapons
Childe lore speculation was the last thing I was expecting today, but man am I incredibly happy to see it.
very late to this but love your pfp :D did you draw it?
@@shenheqqqs Thanks, indeed I did! c:
never even thought that could be a possibility, but can't wait to hear your thoughts
In other words a "sea monster" known for its "bone-like" horn (Incorrectly so, since it's actually a tooth.)
Very loose connections, but very fun coincidences to throw into this soup of a Childe theory!
If I remember correctly, Childe used to have an eyepatch on his beta portrait/icon!
It'd be interesting if this theory turns out to be true! I hope they give us more Childe content soon.
Also, you mentioned Cu Chulainn and Scathach and all the Fate fans came out of their caves to comment lol (I'm also a Fate fan).
As a Childe enthusiast, this was the best thing ever. Thank you!
Please do more vids like this for other characters!
As soon as I first heard about Skirk back in 1.1 I immediately imagined her as Scathach from FGO and I'm so glad that I've (probably) been imagining her about right.
I always wondered why Childe used books from Mondstat. Thanks for going into the deep dive!
I would say it’s bc his books r freedom. Childe is well known to be free to do whatever and go wherever he pleases. He’s a free spirit, but he’s also sworn his life to serving another, so he’ll never really be free
@@jakthesac5175 And that Sneznaiah (how tf do you spell this place?) isn't out yet. At least Mondstadt Mats are closer to his homeland than Liyue i suppose.

Dunno why but these pronunciations stood out to me a ton and I found it quite amusing XD
Is this like a very specific regional accent thing?
Usually i’d have to do my own research into an abundance of Wikipedia pages when watching Ashikai’s videos
But this theory was really easy from beginning to end since i’m a fate fan😅
childe has such weird lore like i read a tweet threat where they pointed out that he also has so many and also very strong ties to enkanomiya as in not only having been there but also his family actually being from enka and im just like...he really is Mr.
It does make some sense.
wow ashikai childe video? XD who would have thought
OH MY GOSH I LOVE THIS Ashikai just woke up and was like "time to feed all the childe fans". And it all actually makes sense!!!

Y'know, this shines a whole different light on that Labyrinth Warriors event scene where Paimon lied to Xinyan by claiming that Childe is an adventurer *_from Mondstadt._*
I caught that the "adventurer" part references how he wanted to be an adventurer as a kid, but I wondered why Paimon chose Mondstadt, of all places, to claim that he's from.
about that part, I always thought that because there are only 3 nations we know at that time, and Monstadt is nearer Snezhnaya more than Liyue, so in term of appearance Monstadt and Snezhnaya people should be more similar than Liyue and Snezhnaya
@@MyTAnh-xu6og I suppose, but she really could have just said he was an adventurer who traveled all the way from Snezhnaya. I just think it would be interesting if this theory is true and Paimon saying he's from Mondstadt was a fun little foreshadowing.
This channel is a gem, it’s clear that every video has much thought and effort put into them
It's a cool format!
This is why I love Childe there is so much deep lore with him and why genshin have a good lore
It could also be that they were experimenting since he was a really early 5-star, but it's definitely a curious choice they made.
little late to the game, but has anyone pointed out that the blue-eyed witch is probably ivanova of the hexenzirkel? you know, the only witch we know of that seems to have some ties to schnezniya, the russian-based region? and that further inspection shows that her and parcival's doomed love story mirrors that of jason of the argonaughts and princess medea, high priestess of hecete (aka the goddess of witchcraft, and therefore a very powerful witch herself), of greek mythology? i bring this up only cause i literally watched this vid back-to-back of your hexenzirkel rundown, and kinda connected the dots from the small lore-tidbits we have of both parcival and ivanova, and (given your theory craft for nicole) further wondered what that potential mythological connection could tell us about ivanova's possible role both within the zirkel, and within the larger metanarritive for genshin. personally, i think she's playing distraction for the zirkel, since medea was often depicted as dangerously clever, and prone to using deception and distraction to fell her enemies. maybe she's using both herself and possible childe/maybe the fatui as a whole to distract celestia while her sisters work in the shadows she's casting? thoughts?
That was fun and amazing to see all these connections
As a major Childe fan, I was fed well today
Loved the theory!! 👏👏
I thought about something during the video, so let me try to explain with my broken english lol
Childe uses Mondstadt talent books, so his origin being Mondstadt does make sense. But Thoma and Scaramouche are from Mond and Inazuma respectively, and they use the books from the nation they currently have ties with.
So what if Childe still has some connection with Mond that we still don't know about?
Honestly, the first thing that came to my mind was Diluc:
Another thing to note is that his foul legacy form looks like a seelie so I'm really wondering how that can be connected - but that's just a food for thought lol
Childe is pretty interesting lore wise and once we get there - if they ever bother to explain - it's gonna slap harder than his riptide👀
Damn I was hoping it’d be about his connections to the abyss or Skirk being a sinner
Childe: Greek name along with greek named brother, fell in the abyss, met Skirk, Enkanomiya being based of off greek, has a weapon that looks similar to those in Enkanomiya, polar star weapon, fatui harbinger
Her: Mondstadt!

If he is an ancestor of Parcifal and the blue eyed spear witch, he uses all 3 of their weapons which explains Hoyo's weapon design choice.
Okay, I need to scream. You cannot start a video about Childe saying he has never been to Mondstadt. Dragonspine is a part of Mondstadt and we know he goes there to remind himself of Snezhnaya because of climate. His artifact set is also located there.
This is the most insane speculation video i have watch on this app. I love it. Keep doing what you are doing!
I LOVE CHILDE SO MUCH, THANK YOU FOR MAKING A VIDEO ABOUT HIM!
honestly the hair looks more Ragnvindr to me... like Diluc without his ponytail (I know, sacriligeous) but red, fluffy and Mondstadtian does make me think Ragnvindr.
This just made me think that Childe is Cu and EMIYAs love child
I mean, a battle maniac with a love of all things bladed and surprisingly amazing household skills
I feel incredibly vindicated after this because one of the first things I thought about Skirk was "reminds me of Scathach"
I mean...Kazuha uses Liyue books (which I understand is probably due to, you know, Inazuma not being released yet).
This is a nice deep dive especially for a character whose lore we dont know so much but has been around for so long. Thank you for this!
Again, I think it's useless information bc merch probably isn't as deep and they just throw something on it. But the comment at least boosts the algorhythm. 🥰
Starving for more Childe content till now
his hair is known to be rare in snezhnaya, the only ones who have that color is from his hometown. it would be so funny, SO FUNNY, if he and diluc of all people share a common root.
I absolutely love this deep-dive format! If you do consider doing another one in a similar format, one on the Sumeru characters would be super interesting/helpful! As a childe-appreciator already I appreciated this video very much!

Love the new format!!
