if only the rest of the film had kept this dark/gritty and serious atmosphere it would've been the best movie ever.
Not really
@@KoasterKing205Yes, really
I cant agree more
This is not dark or gritty
Oh yeah, the dark, gritty seriousness of exploding diamonds and a hovercraft chase through a minefield. RUclips commenters will seriously say anything.
- I studied at Oxford and Harvard, majored in Western hypocrisy
- It's a minefield out there
- America's cultural contribution
- You will not live to see the day, Korea is rule by the North
- Then you and I have something in common
Can someone bring back these smart spy movie lines?? I miss the old James Bond.
I always did love the hypocrisy of Moon with all those western cars haha
@@chrissmart21 Also the fact that his Tankbuster is the XM29 OICW.
@@SoldierOfFate I take it the west made that as well?
@@chrissmart21 Yes, it was a prototype rifle with a smart grenade launcher module that was jointly developed by the Americans and Germans.
This pre-credits sequence was far better than the rest of the film.
Facts
I feel maybe another writer should have been hired to polish the script written by Robert Wade and Neal Purvis for Die Another Day.
The 2nd half was horrible it was similar to a Sci-fi movie no longer a spy movie. The Iceland Portion was worse and the airplane fight scene was worse with CGI
This is my opinion
True
Absolutely not true!!! It was all great!
The movie was good overall
But its true half the movie is very random, weirdo vibe and dont make sense
Never understood the whole point of Cuba, medical clinic and dream mask thing
The whole point of iceland and the ice castle overexagerated drama thing
And the final in the plane, and weirdo son who use plastic surgery, use some kind of weird robot arm exosqueleton, wants to attack countries with laser and betray his dad for it 😆😅
I think some people in charge of james bond story. Thought that sucess of bond franchise is just going up with random exotic location and have weird extravagant things happening there 😂
Brosnan had the best pre credit scenes.
That the Korean bad guy here is surgically transformed into a white-skinned, red-haired, blue-eyed Englishman, along with Bond's invisible car, and Bond wind-surfing a tidal wave demonstrates just how far beyond believabilty the plots to these films had moved before they rebooted with Daniel Craig. I LOVE the sword fight, however!
It is not that far from reality imo. All doable, even if not to the same degree.
In spite of its flaws, Die Another Day is truly an enjoyable movie. It had its enjoyable moments (like this opening sequence, the clinic shootout, the fencing duel between Bond and Graves and of course, the car chase between Bond and Zao), and its worst moments (Bond fighting Mr. Kil in the laser room and Bond surfing the tidal wave created from the Icarus melting the iceberg).
Absolutely agree.
100% agree! It's not a great Bond movie, but still quite good! At least a fun-fun movie! ***** Since 2006, James Bond(Daniel Craig) is a sad depressive psychopath, not anymore that glamorous gentleman agent like all Bond actors before(Connery, Moore, Lazenby, Dalton, Brosnan)..........
it's still miles better than the trainwreck called "No Time to Die"
@@codezero7981 absolutely.
@@codezero7981 What about Quantum of Solace or Spectre?
Will Yun Lee was a great Bond villain. Such a shame that he was only in the first 15 minutes.
Completely agree, should have been a villain the whole movie.
Most charismatic Bond ever
Those old Bond movies, where everything that was shot or even mildly hit had to instantly explode like it was full of crazy explosives.
they were just preparing us for people's egos and snowflakes being so easily offended the effect would be the same.
Touches bunker and it just explodes lol.
That's why this opening is exactly as bad as the rest of the film unlike everyone seems to wish here
THANK YOU @@visionist7 another person gets it!
Just like the good old A-Team.
While this was a good, entertaining movie, it's a shame this is Brosnan's last outing as him. His Bond was so good, and I think it deserved more movies
Spy movie like this Bond were a dying genre due to the rising another spy movies like Bourne and that stupid XXX, so Bond must revert to someone like Daniel Craig
He deserved one final Bond film to make up for Die Another Day, but sadly he was never given that chance.
I had that Sony Ericsson P800 phone, and it did NOT take quality pictures like that at all 😂
In retrospect, yours was Made in China while Zhao was homemade 😆
Zhao edition
I🎉 🎉live to die another day ***good statement by bond👍👍👌👌🌹🌹
Brosnan was a Fantastic Bond!
sort of.. quite cool but not so believeable as an elite soldier..
sort of.. quite cool but not so believeable as an elite soldier..
@@RogerYeahmon Bond is meant to be a cool charismatic playboy spy who beds the women and saves the world like Connery and Moore before him, the guy you're describing is Jason Bourne.
@@pr-tj5by i know what you mean but in real life, to qualify for selection to "The Increment" (an ultra best-of-the-best squadron utilised for behind enemy lines intel collection by MI6) you would think the operative would have undertaken ludicrous fitness training, torture endurement training etc.. Brosnan is too smooth 😅
@@RogerYeahmon The only one that would fit that description is Craig's Bond ie Jason Bourne in a tux, that guy is nothing like the Bond that Connery Moore and Brosnan portrayed
No fun cool suave charisma playboy, just a completely different tv character
Still love this film. I like all of Brosnan's Bond films.
I love this movie despite everything. First Bond movie I saw in the cinema with my fam, the definition of a guilty pleasure I could watch over and over
Now that my memory is kicking in it was the first Bond movie I saw in theatres, too!!! Such a classic!
Brosnan. The best looking Bond of all time.
Brilliant film no matter what anyone says
No such thing as a bad bond film
100%
You cray cray 😂!
Pierce has aged good, he should return as an old Bond.
James Bond is his last anger therapist and beats him.
3:31 this line is perfect.
8:21 This line is perfect. 😂
@@georgehenderson7783 Yup (:
@@georgehenderson7783 One of the best Bond lines. Along with: "They'll print anything these days"
Let's face it, this movie was way more fun than most of the Daniel Craig bond films.
Lol, nope. This is one of the shittiest bond movies ever.
@@skeletonofwisdom2922 both can be true. I'd rather watch this than most of the later Daniel Craig misery fests. Either that or shove broken glass under my fingernails.
@@invisibleman4827 Sure, dude. Brosnan movies were the worst in terms of everything bond is.
I would agree that Spectre and No time to Die was sub par after Skyfall. I would chalk that up to Hollyweird being hollyweird again. But the sheer shittiness of Brosnan films don't even come close.
@@skeletonofwisdom2922 I agree on Spectre and No Time To Die, but while one of Brosnan's four Bond films was pretty abysmal - this one - and Tomorrow Never Dies was fairly weak, Goldeneye was stellar, and World Is Not Enough was still good, albeit with a few flaws. And even then, I can enjoy even a bad Bond film as long as it isn't Man With The Golden Gun or Never Say Never Again.
@@invisibleman4827 What made me fall in love with Craig Bond is his Bond is a trained expendable. He has emotions, feelings, he has training and he chases like a damn terminator.
He was also the one to lose a lot, go through a nice character arc and end on a sad but good note.
After Timothy Dalton, only Craig felt like he could've been an ex SAS. I loved Dalton's Bond films as well.
It's funny how when they start drowning Bond there is a North Korean dominatrix with a whip for absolutely no reason 😀
Bond definitely safer with her then he was with Miranda Frost.
My favorite movie die another day❤❤❤😊😢😊
எனக்கு ரொம்ப பிடித்த திரைப்படம் 🔥
Dang, Kim Jong Un will be furious seeing this mess in the dmz 😂
People, critics disapprove of the movie that it has CGI and all..but see the sword , Raw and real..peoplen tend to ignore that..all Brosnan movies were great.
A great agent always has a plan in case he gets discovered.
"Always have an escape plan" - Q
This intro is one of the best of all bond films!!
Criminally underrated Bond Film.
Pierce Brosnan, the most underrated James Bond of all along with Connery and Craig top three
Connery is bond, all other bonds follow him. But yes brosnan was great , and Craig was too. As p brosnan aways said, bond is Sean’s role
Pierce has the Bond look.
Connery, Dalton and Craig were all good. Brosnan was good in Mrs. Doubtfire. But Roger Moore WAS 007.
Great driving music.😃
I always like how bond look back to make sure no back seat driver this time. Also bond escape the soon-to-dive-down-waterfall watercraft by going upwards, just like in Moonraker.
0:26 hey it's Johnny Tran from fast and furious
He is now Korean 😂😂😂
Wow didn't know that was him 🎉
Faked his death and ran away to NK to become a general
Faked his death and ran away to NK to become a general
Zhao with diamonds all over half of his face looks like two-face
I was 14 when this came out great times
Pierce Brosnan is very great James Bond😮😮
The exposition in the first dialog exchange is so packed.
impossible to beat Pierce Brosnan as James Bond.
Wow, i had forgotten how hot both Moon & Zao were before they altered their appearances. Very handsome men!
Lol Putin probably watched this film and decided to call Kim Jong un
Dr Evil's henchmen were having a particularly off day that day.
Can't believe this is 21 years old.
@@hongkonger1775 oh wow
Hovercraft ere actually great transport vehicles but it cost so much fuel ... mud, water , sand, snow any track will be fine ,
As long as rubber covering wont have crack everything fine😅
This movie was absolutely insane but I loved it. At the same time, Casino Royale was one of the best Bond films of all time. Perfectly fine to enjoy both extremes, they're like apples and oranges. After having 15 years of Craig I hope the next one is a bit more like this.
Time passes so quickly I saw this movie in 2002 and now Iam seeing this clip in 2024 😂 it’s an interesting movie because the world has changed 100 times since that time it’s a new world now
So the bad guy speaks perfect English with an AMERICAN accent after studying in Oxford in the UK... glad that makes sense
He said Oxford and Harvard; though I doubt either would just casually admit a North Korean.
@@Mrraugut likely under a South Korean cover ID.
Even Kim Jong Un studied in Switzerland.

Johnny Tran... Around cars 😂
What a stark contrast to pouty craig's last outing as Bond, where he spent the majority of the opening sequence talking to a woman about his feelings!
Bond's Uzi vs all weapons of North Korea 💀
Funny early-2000s movie spy technology: conspicuously huge camera with a lag in transmitting.
Would’ve been cool if this movie ended right here and this Bond became the villain in Skyfall.
I do like piercy Brosnan as James Bond, good movie
Only Bond can go through mud, dust, debri, punches, kicks and flamethrower scorch without a smudge. But when everything is over he's dirty.
“We got a wolf pack, it’s Johnny Tran and he’s coming your way real fast..”
Best action movie ever!!!
Brosnan was the PERFECT bond, but the writing just wasn’t so great after Goldeneye
The opening to this movie was fantastic. Too bad it fell off after the opening sequence.
No, it didn't.
“Find me a new anger therapist.” 😂🔥
Great film from start to end - Just enjoyable! Die another day - will have its day !
That was the firm Bond movie which i watch IT at the cinema.
My favorit scene
Thought the transition to the music and the title during the interrogation was really smooth and on point :>
0:41. Bonds response. "My name is not Late."
😂😂😂
The actors in these films always look like they having so much fun playing pantomime bad guys
It's rare scene in bond movies, even he has a chance to escape from them but voluntarily surrendered. After that bond rescued by MI6 on the exchange of another terrorist.I Never dreamt of beloved James bond would become hostage .😅
Fantastic movie
This opening is the best part of the movie.
Bond's new car (I won't give it away) is interesting, but too far fetched.
Yeah and the lotus from the spy who loved me which also operated as a submarine that's very realistic a car that goes also adapts to being a submarine
I dont care what people think about that movie i always liked it.
It's a pity that the rest of the film wasn't this good
😢
In YOUR opinion.
Saved by the bell indeed, Mr. Bond also continues to surprise his enemies with the sheer power of those weird but super cool and handy 'Hidden Assets' from Q branch seen in 4:31!
Rip dude looking at diamond.
I will say this before someone else does. My dad was james bond. Honest mate. And so was my mum.
Pierce Brosnan >>>>>>>>>
funny enough, my dad had that same cellphone. Played a lot of snake on it
This is a good movie.
A lot of the Bond movies have actually had the pre-credit sequence directed by the second unit guy or another hired gun brought in. When has "Lee Tamahori" directed anything as good as this sequence?
0:52 The NK army "police cap" actually looks better here, the real ones are closer to comical with its ramen bowl shape 😂😂
Ever best 007
this movie got controversial in korea.
This movie deserved a better song
FABULOUS 🍿🎥💕
In the line up, one of the cars is a green Jaguar XK, similar to the one that Zhao drives later in the film. I wonder if that implies the antagonist (forgot his name) gave it to him; though it was most likely just used to pad how many cars there were in the scene.
dont expect it to be quick
Takeshi's castle with explojenz !
No cgi. Just the real stuff
3:50 *then you and I have something in common* lolol😂 💀
You have to admire the gem checkers devotion to his work, the whole base is going to hell and hes still checking the diamonds
2002 that’s 22 years ago for this film
Mr. Bond, Did we meet before? My fault,,,, Mr. Bond ...
We were face to face and he didn't recognized me 😭😭😭😭😭
That 993 getting destroyed..... heartbreaking...
I SEE THEM
Pierce Brosnan is the best OO7
Much better movie than all the craig Bond movies put together. Craig is the only lousy Bond.
What were those expensive cars doing in a military base??
They should have made pierce brosnan play Silva in skyfall
hahaha, "my son is dead", speak too soon old man
The first time I saw the movie, I had an immediate hunch he wasn't dead. The plot twist caught me off guard even though there were clues hiding in plain sight beforehand.
The interrogation officer is no doubt a secret Bond girl.
It is a fun movie to watch but just that, good thing is that producers knew what they did here and completely turned it around in casino royale. It is a shame for Brosnan, his last Bond movie to be a forgetable title, worse compared to its succesor
he's probably trying to do maths its numbers see they're 6
