- Liz Lira is based out of Los Angeles and she is considered one of the top female Salsa dancers in the world. This clip is from a performance in the Washington, DC area in May of 2005. Her partner here is Jose Valencia. I really like the way she hits musical accents and her body control is just phenomenal. She has her own unique style, which it's easy to see is influenced by training in ballet and jazz. I also like this clip because of the "funky" tinge to the Salsa music that is used.

To all negative comments, Salsa means sauce. It's a mixture of moves. You don't have to stick to the basic step or a specific style you panzies! They are dancing salsa on 1. The music and their moves fit within an 8 count. Even though they've mixed in other influences, they are still dancing salsa. Puerto Rico, Cuba, L.A., New York, Miami, Chicago, Spain, Venezuela... Every place has their own unique style. Get over it.
Why is everybody so bloody well caught up with what to call it - is it salsa, is it flamenco, is it this is it that ... WHO CARES!!!! It's dancing, and it's damn good.

Just because they dance a certain way doesn't mean they are "killing" any other way of dancing Salsa. In my opinion, there's room for all different styles!

Neither should it be. Salsa is not coreographed. They are damn good! When someone is really dancing, it shows true mastery to be able to communicate accents like that!

We can say they are dancing salsa, its just that the salsa they're dancing can or is for competition. Notice everyone around them. You honestly think they can do that on the dance floor where everyone is dancing? If I did that I'd probably knock so many people out with my kicks and turns. For the music, well cant say to much. It sounds like booty music not too much of salsa in it.

well this couple is ok but they have nothing much to show, if you guys wanna see really sala ,you should come to new york and see people dancing. this has no sabor
