Damn finally a real video for those looking to take it seriously, while also putting into perspective for those that think this line of work is an easy fix, its not, I am sick of all the videos about how to grow in 2024, if i started youtube in 2024 id do this and so on, it is all fake gaslighting to those that think it is as simple as record, edit, upload... famous. I do tech, but what people don't see, is me emailing 40 companies a day to find collabs to be able to make the content, getting rejected so finding an alternative product, having to make 6+ bits of content for each product just to have the opportunity to work on the collab, voice overs, broll, unboxings, product photography, in depth reviews, all while being a father and husband, and still getting hit and miss with my content and views, if it wasn't for my passion in this field, I would be right back to a 9-5 hating life, I would rather get paid less but enjoy my job and have all the time in the world for my family, than work a 9-5, hating waking up just because it pays more. It is all about enjoying the journey, not getting from A-Z the fastest, you will reach your destination in time. Amazing video brother
Before I jump into my real comment, I have to express how great this whole video is. Super relatable and I feel our paths are pretty similar (graphic designer who was miserable with the day-to-day, expanded skillset into live streaming / business space). So the real comment. Lazy people. I've seen you critisizing "lazy people" both in this video and on socials recently. In recent years I've done a fair bit of thinking around this as it pertains to my past self as well as a few close people in my life. I genuinely believe lazy people don't exist. When you really break it down, they've got other priorities right now. That could be they need rest, take care of their mental health, physical health or perhaps something else. You mention that 13 years ago you were in a bad place. I imagine you were someone that people might consider "lazy". At some point something changed. What was it? It's probably a whole video in itself, but I always find it interesting to hear what snapped for others.
No offense but I was 1000% lazy when I was like that. It’s not that deep, lazy is just a definition for those unwilling to work or use energy. There’s nothing really deeper than that. I don’t sympathize with lazy people for example who say they need more “me time” to rest and get their mental health in check, but use 21 hours a week to doom scroll on TikTok and IG. There are people working hard that don’t have time to grind every single hour of the day, MOST people who do in fact fall under the lazy category don’t do that or attempt to do that and just use excuses for the lack of their effort to do something to better themselves.
Ive been doing exactly this. Watching you feels like my future self reassuring im in the right direction. Ima just keep grinding and enjoy the prices, Thanks E.
Ever since I started watching your content in late 2022 my mindset and perspective on things has changed a lot. New opportunities have come my way, and your content has helped me bury a lot of insecurity.
This videos always excites me. I wanna start creating and some day in the future go full time. This just reminds me of how much work I got to put in and how hard it’s going to be but it only sounds fun!
Honestly the best advice I've heard on this. I've wanted to combine all my skills in Video Production, Music Production, Graphics Design, Content Creation somehow and quit my day job, but I haven't quite gotten there. I know everyone carves a different path but this video makes it seem more plausible for me.
New Follower here! Loving these videos man and a lot of truth in them as well from my first year really sitting down and taking things more seriously! Its a lot of hard work and dedication to go after dreams and goals! I've learned so much and I continue to grow! Thank you for the advise in the videos and I look forward to watching many more!
Really enjoyed this video! My goal is for my wife to quit her job first and eventually me be the only one working but being able to work from home and create my own hours
When it comes to streaming/RUclips/content creator or any kind of side business truth is 90% will quit. 9% will monetize their hobby or passion. 1% will make enough from that passion to be able to quit their 9-5. If you have young kids at home? Forget the unicorn dream entirely unless your spouse is a bread winner.
I have a handful of successful homies with kids and their wives are not bread winners. TBH most of the successful people I know have kids, it drives them to work much harder. This isn't going to be for everyone, doesn't mean its impossible.
As someone who is right in the edge of being able to go fulltime this is a good reminder on being patient!
